@apam2470 Dude😂🤣.. it's always Jane who solves all sorts of problems/ cases in minutes that Lisbon tries and fails to solve all day.. this is just one rare occasion Lisbon solves Jane's problem
I love how they've progressed from her never willing to get involved to her wordlessly helping him get out of this situation. She doesn't even think twice about helping him, and I'm so glad he also just tells her the whole situation.
I really liked Laroche. I thought it was a missed opportunity that he didn't have a bigger part, especially when he finally came around and realized that it was easier to work with Jane than against him.
Duuuuuude, seriously. Like he was just beginning to actually like Jane AND his unorthodox, yet effective, shennanigans only to be taken out by a fuckin trap.A damn shame.
@@marcusboysuave Actually, LaRouche wanted nothing to do with Jane by that point, even with half the pay. Also, he has a dark side, with that tupperware. He died because of that, really. He's not the pure good guy some of you seem to remember.
Brilliantly shot scene !! Smart writing n impeccable execution by Patrick n Teresa ; the thank you at the end was heart warming ❤ Love was in the air right from the start
Every so often in the show Teresa will stare Jane down and he quietly cedes to her. Even when half of what he says are lies she knows to call out the important ones, even when he's already running risks she knows when he is in true danger, and even when he struggled with sadness the entire time hunting RJ she almost always knew when his mood was sinking lower than usual. I wonder how he kept calm while being loved that much.
Jane isn't a psychopath and he isn't a sociopath either. For one, sociopaths don't feel guilt. Jane feels guilty for his family's death. Sociopaths can't form meaningful relationships. Jane has shown he does love Lisbon and supports her when she needs him most (see season 4 finale and episodes in season 5 - particularly the Volker case).
We know he feels empathy, but a sociopath could just as easily love their family members as objects that belong to them. Then get mad when someone takes that away
Yes you are right both character patrick Jane and sherlock holmes are mistaken as sociopath but they are not bcs both form meaningful relationships with their partners ..
@@dr.khushbooagarwal786 I absolutely agree with you! And Jane can't be also for the reason a sociopath, because the basics for sociopathy lay in childhood or youth. And Jane changed after the death of his wife and daughter, he was emotionally hurt and traumatized til the lost of his family. He was suicidal, needed therapy because of that. Jane still wears his wedding ring as a memory of his death wife. He is still grieving. That's not really a sociopaths thing, this is the thing of a person with very deep and genuine feelings.
lol, i don't know why but when LaRouche mentions the 6 months of anger management classes for Lisbon and Jane spins around in his chair, the sound he makes is funny/cute.
A lot of people misuse the word sociopath to mean anybody charming who is capable of getting into another's head and manipulating their reactions for their own benefit, or someone who uses their insight into human behavior to give themselves an edge in business and finances. Many people also view sociopaths as lacking respect for the generally accepted social rules and status quo. It's more complicated than that though. Sociopaths generally have little or no conscience and don't easily feel guilt or remorse if they hurt someone, and if they do hurt someone and happen to feel responsible, many of them are good at going into denial and absolving themselves. Jane has little respect for a lot of social rules and authority figures because, frankly, a lot of what the status quo thinks of as normal is kind of dumb, but Jane is not a sociopath, he just has less desire than most to confirm and fit in. He flogs himself with guilt over the murders of his family. Jane has a clear affection and protectiveness for animals and small children. He becomes deeply angered when he encounters abuse and bullying on different cases and will go out of his way to bring small moments of peace and comfort to people who have been exploited. He is afraid of getting close to people because of his wife and daughter's murders, not because he lacks the ability to form close relationships. He has a major case of survivor's guilt and squeaks through the day playing his mentalist role, but there are so many times in this series where he will try and comfort people who are hurting, whereas a sociopath in that same scenario wouldn't even think of comforting the hurting like Jane does. Many of Jane's acts of kindness are small things between only himself and the other person, done almost in secret, and not big fancy affairs to gain attention or recognition (when sociopaths do try to pretend like they are comforting, they usually do it so everybody knows how great they are being to somebody else, because the "kindness" is about their reputation and looking good- it is not done to be kind, but Jane's kind moments to others are subtle to the point that many viewers of the show considering Jane to be a sociopath have entirely missed those subtle exchanges. There have been times Jane is interacting with a victim on a case and you can see the combination of pain, compassion and grief on his face as he analyzes someone who is hurting- a sociopath wouldn't care and the small, non verbal cues denoting empathy and grief Jane gives off wouldn't be present in them. Jane presents like someone who is consumed with grief to the point where he psychologically has to play at being an unfeeling, glib larger than life personality to get through the day. His antics seem to be as much to push his own memories and pain away as dazzle others.
This is a brilliant scene. Jane faltering, and Lisbon getting things done "legally." Jane is the brains and Lisbon is the brawn. I wish the story arc about Volker could have been more like this, with Lisbon solving it more on her own terms. It was a great episode but still seemed like she didn't know what to do unless Jane guided her.
He's not Red John, Bruno Heller himself said that he wasn't, he said that it wouldn't be fair to string the fans along, and then deny them the closure. and i don't think Jane's a psychopath, the reason why RJ's always ahead of him, is because Jane refuses to hurt innocent people, even to catch Red John..so he's not crazy, he still has his principals his principals just tend to go outside the law, quite a bit.
just once they've shown lisbon smarter than jane ...I always felt they should have shown lisbon smarter,,that's why I like Castle bcz beckett is so smart but on mentalist jane always solves the case. I mean what would they do without him.

The show is not about Lisbon...the show was about Jane and red John...lisbon become important because her character...whereas in castle the show was about Kate's revenge or finding about her mothers murder..wonder why people keeps comparing both of them...
The show was too focused on Jane. They put all the interesting parts into Jane and his revenge and let stereotypes and cliches right the rest. Tbh they were still well written but when other characters aren't unique enough it drags the entire show. Sherlock wouldn't be half as interesting if not for the dynamic between him and Watson.
Interesting thing about that Culpeper character, when he and Jane first met, Jane insulted him and he swore of getting back at Jane, then... first thing he does (couple of episodes later) is gets hired by a man who insulted him😂😂
