  • See how TINTING POLYURETHANE with dye and paint to create a custom color finish on a dresser is super easy! See how I blended water based polyurethane with wood dye AND also mixed the polyurethane with Fusion Mineral paint to create a custom finish to match an existing bed frame color.

Listening to this takes me back to print class. "Water and oil don't mix" or water and ink don't mix.
You made a great suggestion about going lighter with the paint.. the process of making the paint dye and colors is what I needed to know thx.

I was so afraid you would flick paint on the other piece.... 6:35 watch it happen... I kept waiting for you to comment on this and finish with a splatter finish. Love your fearless, adventurous, experimental, carefree spirit!

LOL I am a messy painter! I wasn't worried about the splatter because I knew I was going to touch up and repaint the rest of the dresser and side tables.

Very well done. I tried this earlier today on a scrap piece of wood; thought I'd come on YT to see if this is something that would hold up without flaking off. So, thanks for the video, it answered my question. I think it looks great! 👍🏻👍🏻
