2:39 I couldnt agree more. Too many youtube "reviewers" like chaseontwowheels that are given a new helmet for free and the first thing out of his mouth is, "This is the BEST helmet I've ever worn." Lol

I was mad at myself for not being able to remember the name of this company at first when shopping for new gear but glad I stayed subscribed on YT all these years. Can't wait to get back on the pavement with you guys!
Awesome video! Great points. Especially about not removing the tags and not riding in the helmet until you are sure you like it. Helmets are super important IMO. Just as important as the kind of bike you ride. You will be living inside the helmet every time you go for a ride.
I bought a 2013 Bell Star Limited-Edition Bell Star Carbon U.S. Grand Prix Helmet Still wearing it and still really happy with it. I’d love a Arai but I’m on a cardboard pizza and tap water budget in regards to motorcycle gear this year. Great video Brian hope you and Max have a great 2020 riding season.

Just watched cuz it's a STG vid lol and as always Van delivers. Appreciate all you do for us man, your experience and knowledge truly is priceless. You have show me many great tips throughout my time with the channel so far, so I just wana say thanks again and keep riding safe!!
Brian I have arai, shoei, HJC, Bell, and every other top brand of helmet. When I seen the scorpion air system I thought wow that’s pretty cool and picked one up. I was totally amazed at the quality of the helmet at way less than half the price of my others and this was one of scorpions average range helmets. I then picked up one of their upper class racing helmets and absolutely love my scorpion. Before this my I used every brand I own depending which I felt like wearing. Now I have found I always grab one of my scorpions. They are the only helmet I’ve owned that I can actually feel the air flow when I open the mouth vent. I love em.
Hi! If you had a chance between the SHOEI X-14 or HJC RPHA 1 or SHARK race-r carbon pro. Which one would you recommend for track use ? (Price difference doesn’t matter)
What do you think about the simpson racing helmets? I ride a Harley and a sportbike. I need a new helmet and wanted something that would fit the bill for both. I don't track either of my bikes. Thanks for support. Best reviews on gear anywhere!
I'm from England so won't be buying from you but fuck I love your reviews they've helped me buy all my motorcycle gear so thank you keep up the good work
Can you guys add a noise level to your helmet reviews for the ones you’ve ridden in. I know some are louder than others and I’m sure that people especially the new riders would need to know before they spend $600 on a bell star compared to a $200 scorpion r420. There’s a major difference in riding noise. Thanks you
Do manufacturers make sportsbike/race helmets with more clearance at the back to allow for the forward leaning riding style? I seem to have the back of my helmet rub my jacket when I ride my CBR but not mt MT10. Would buying lets say a 'race' style helmet help?
Over the years I have ridden in a couple of helmets that I remember hitting the back of the suit in a tuck (not sure which model it was as it was a long time ago now). Any of the current race helmets are designed to make sure there is not going to be any interference with the race suit in a tuck. I will add it is also possible for there to be some contact if the design of the suit/jacket has excess material at the base of the neck or if the fit of the garment is poor. Make sure to check that before you replace the helmet. - Van
@@sportbiketrackgear I really appreciate you taking the time to respond. I have been experimenting with pulling my jacket down while stopped at the lights and paying attention to my posture when riding and it seems to have helped the problem somewhat. A question for you, sir. Is there a big difference between poly carbonite and carbon fiber shells? Is a poly a safe helmet? I'm a dirt bike/dual sport rider. Bell helmets tend to fit me best - which would you recommend?
Both of them are as safe as the testing standard they pass. I do not have a ton of off road helmet experience personally which makes a recommendation hard to do. With that said the Bell Moto-9 Flex Helmet is as safe as they come IMO. - Van
Funny how being in a different position has you using a bunch of muscles in a way they are not used to. Before replacing that helmet (one of the very best on the market today) I would give your body time to adjust more to track riding. If that does not improve you may want to try a lighter helmet. Some of the AGV stuff is very light. - Van
