I bought a pair refurbished as well and the same thing happened to me. Mine came with no tips so I ended up having to buy a pack from Amazon with different sizes when all I needed was the medium. For some odd reason the left ear bud sounded slightly louder than the right. I returned them yesterday and reordered a new set because the left bud would pause and then resume 2 seconds later. They didn’t even come in their original box. Mine came bubble wrapped and the lid on the case was super flimsy. I always had to be careful opening it so the lid wouldn’t break off.
Oh yeah I would have returned those right away Even the refurbished ones are supposed to be like new. They say they're supposed to have maybe some slight signs of use but they're supposed to come with everything that a new pair comes with and if they don't Best Buy should compensate you for them just like they did for me.
I think the Beats Fit Pro sound much better they have a richer deeper base and overall sound and also because of the shape of my ears I need those wings to help them stay in my ears and maintain a good seal however if your ears are such that you don't need that the other buds might work just fine. If you want some really good sounding earbuds check out the Jabra elite series of earbuds they sound fantastic.

Yeah these refurbished ones are pretty legit they're working great so far the only problem is I didn't get the silicone ear tips with them but I did call back to Best Buy and explain that to them and I told them it was going to cost me about $13 to buy some new ones from Apple so they went in and refunded me $13.84 off of my purchase price dropping them down from $99 to 80 something dollars.

"Geek Squad Certified Refurbished" is a joke! Mine were also missing tips. I wasted HOURS today with chat and phone support (they transferred me to like half a dozen people on the phone, and prob 20 different people in chat) and going to the store when they said they'd give me tips right there (false). Someone even transferred me to some "subscriptions" department! The chat support sent me to the local store, saying I'd be given tips right there and then, but I went and was told that stores don't have replacement tips in stock!! But the scary part is that the store manager said they have some stupid Apple return policy where they will refuse a return and demand that the customer allow them to order replacement parts. This is hard to believe. And chat/phone supervisor also told me they would not accept a mail/UPS return, even though I bought them for home delivery via the website! She said that they insist on store returns to the staff can check the item -- but how the heck are they suppose to know if missing parts or damage are the fault of the customer or if they came that way!!? Another chat rep had earlier said that UPS return was possible but that it would take at least 2 weeks after receiving the item for them to also check it. Again, check for what? They obviously must believe it was a complete unit/package if they shipped it out that way. Take a look at the images under reviews on BB website -- customers get all kinds of condition units. One posted pics of filthy buds and said that's how theirs arrived. I'll never buy "Certified Refurbished" from BB again. They clearly have issues in "refurbishing" and it seems questionable if they will stand behind these products and allow returns without a hassle.
What was the result of best buy in regards to the tips?
They gave me a $13 refund to cover the purchase of eartips from Apple.
I feel like the original issue always returns
I've been using them for several months and I haven't had a single issue yet. And if I do they come with the original manufacturer's warranty.

They are great. Best Buy actually refunded me $13 so I can buy the eartips from Apple so it all worked out wonderfully and they are perfect just like new.

They refunded me the amount back that I would take me to purchase them so they end up refunding me back about $13.

@@TodayIFeelLike I'm basically going to give up. The chat reps at Best Buy say they can't make an adjustment on a refurb item and I called and they said a supervisor would call back but has not. I've spent a ridiculous amount of hours on this so I'm going to return and buy them new with free AppleCare+ at Costco on Black Friday pricing. I don't want to buy another set at Best Buy for fear of this insane amount of run around happening with that unit too, or maybe have problems making a return at all.
I'm really sorry you had that experience. That stinks. But you are right, there are some good deals that will be coming up very soon with Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Also, if you check a website called slickdeals.net you'll also see deals that come up throughout the year.

I will definitely save my receipt and I put them on my credit card so I have extra buyer protection.
RECEIPT MAY DO NO GOOD! You have no way to prove if the item came with missing or damaged parts. I talked to no less than 20 Best Buy employees today about the missing tips and even went to the store. The very last thing I was told (by a "supervisor" no less, on the phone) was that I couldn't even mail them back even though they came to me via the website and shipment. They said that I had to take it to the local store to let the staff there evaluate the condition and if the item was complete!! Mine didn't even come with a box. So if you want to return, you have to hope they'll take your word for it that the item came that way. None of the 20+ BB employees offered me a partial refund to allow me to buy tips, as @TodayFeelLIke received. I may try.... but I'm so disillusioned and distrustful now of BB that I'm not sure if will consider keeping them.
Well, when I had the problem I simply called into Best Buy explained to them the situation and told them the earbuds were missing tips. I told them that I called Apple and got the price for the tips and Best buy said well. How about we just refund you that amount so that you can then order them from Apple and have your tips? I said great that worked. Now because you ordered them online. I'm assuming that you used a credit card and if that's the case, just simply call your credit card company and file a dispute. Tell them you did not get what you paid for and you tried to work it out with the retailer and now you need them to take over. After that they will put a hold on the charge. They will try and deal with the retailer and if they can't come to some resolution they'll just refund your money back. At least that's how it worked for me. I have an American Express card and one of the reasons I keep an American Express card is for their purchase protections.
@@TodayIFeelLike Thanks for your reply, and for the idea to ask for compensation as a resolution. You seem to have lucked out that it went smoothly from the start. It seems to come down to the luck of the draw on competence and willingness of whatever employees you encounter. Via chat and on the phone, I often had people transfer me like they were playing hot potato. Picking up from the hours I already spent as previously reported.... 2 days ago I talked to a nice rep and explained what I learned about how they resolved with you. She needed manager approval for the adjustment, and none was available. She insisted one would call back within a few hours but none did. The next day, chat support was unable or unwilling to prod a manger to call back either (they said no managers are avail via chat, even indirectly for them to obtain an approval) and said I would have to re-initiate over the phone myself. I called and phone "wait time" was said to be 20 min but ended up 40+ min. Then, the answering rep transferred me back to the start of the queue!!! I was livid! While waiting on hold again, I got into the car and drove to the store, deciding I was going to sit there until this was somehow sorted. They were nice, but could not make any adjustments since it wasn't their sale, and had similar issues with inability to expense the replacement tips so could not order them. When I did get another rep on the phone, she turned out to be great and saw the situation through to the end. I feel like an idiot for spending so much time on this, and will certainly think twice about refurb at Best Buy in the future.
