    Around 2:25, you state that you miss being able to change the volume on the fly. You CAN actually adjust the setting on the beats fit pro so that when you press and hold the left ear bud it decreases the volume and when you press and hold the right ear bud it increases the volume!

Only thing I don't like is the long pressing works more like a slider than stepping up or down. So it's very hard to fine tune the volume and you almost always overshoot or undershoot.

    These are surprisingly good earbuds, I have used many pairs and these are probably my all-time favorite. Great sound, great fit, light weight and very good ANC. They work really well with Android as well, the updated Beats app is actually pretty good. I'd recommend enabling absolute volume though (in developer settings) as you can get much higher volume this way (they are not very loud otherwise). I think these are the best all-around earbuds available right now, great for fitness/running, but also general music listening, or just working. They area also one of the better looking earbuds IMO. With wireless charging these would have been pretty much perfect.

    To my ears these 3rd Gen Air pods are more comfortable compared to the newer Pro version with the soft gel tips. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxgl8SzyQoymMu-S3V55Dskg5QJ8xr1yCR That said, compared to the 3rd Gen, I notice these do not stay planted in the ear as well. One design issue I think, is you squeeze the stem and click it twice to advance your songs. On 3rd gen you tap the large speaker. The difference is by grabbing the stem each time, you tend to loosen the bud fit in your ear. Not always, but the bud falls out a few times while running. The old tap to change never had that problem for me. I would not have changed that tap function. That said, the newer Pro version sticks in the ear, almost airtight if you want that. I do not like that Airtight fit. So that's why I'd stay with this version as the best trade off of comfort, use, and overall feel.

My first set had the ambient mode/noise cancellation get progressively worse over time, then the left ear microphone failed. My second set went very similar. After a few months the ambient mode/noise cancellation got so bad that I couldn't tell when they were even activated or not. And yes I have cleaned them properly and even brought them to a repair store to be cleaned.

    I actually own both pairs and I like the Beats Fit Pro better mostly because they stay in my ear better. BTW you can actually control the volume directly on them. I recently figured that out by accident and now have mine set where pushing on the left one turns volume down and the right one turns it up. Great video comparison. I love both pairs and not having the wireless charging on the beats isn’t a big deal for me as the batteries last so long anyway!

    I’ve been using the Powerbeats Pro for two years now for running and had the charging issue you described. Been looking for some good workout/running buds for a month now trying to replace my Galaxy buds Pro. Only real option out there for me was the jaybirds vista 2s because of the wing and the physical button (can't stand touch controls) but hesitated based on connection issues I read that it has on the reviews. Was about to just settle for them but now these suddenly come out with a wing and a physical button so these beats are PERFECT for me. Instant buy when they come out 👌

      Do you think this buds would be a better buy than their older brother "Powerbeats"? I was considering those buds because of the wing around your ear because i want to use them for outdoor workout but they are a little outdated and now that these came out im not sure 🤔, mainly because idk if the in ear wing is secure enough for me to run around and do drills with them without having to worry that they fell of my ear.

      @@sergiosanjuan1166 hell yeah man, if you have the extra money to spend, definitely go for the new Beats Fit Pro. They will stay in your ear just as strongly as the powerbeats do, all while getting updated sound quality, functionality, and usability. I used to have the jaybirds vistas and the wings on those were similar and never budged or fell out of my ears while running, hiking, or at the gym. These new Beats will be no different 👌

    You just made the same statement that another reviewer made in they’re review of Beats Fit Pro… I’m referring to you saying you couldn’t control the volume of what you were listening to “on the fly” . If you’d taken more time to learn about these brilliant earpods and gone to the dedicated Beats website you would have learned that we can control volume from the pods. It just means swapping the noise cancellation and transparency functions of the buttons for volume control. It is really easy to do , I’ve not gone back to using the buttons for transparency & noise cancellation since I started using the buttons for volume control nearly a month ago. I’ve got the right pod increasing volume - and the left for lowering the volume. I really like the fact that where we apply force to the buttons isn’t precisely behind what the eartips are inserted into our ear canal. The part of the pod we apply pressure to is well away from where the bud enters our ears so we’re not pushing it further into the ear canal. It’s a real pity that you spoiled a really good review by making a statement that shows you haven’t really tried how to use the on-device controls to their full extent.

    The one thing I'm really worried about ever considering these is how they'll fit into my ear. Both of my ears are completely different from each other (the conch of the ear- one is inwards and one is outwards; the outward one pops out any normal earbuds) and I'm straight up afraid of it popping out the earbud.

  • @undead9786
    @undead9786 2 года назад

    I had the powerbeats pro since the beginning and about a month ago i purchased the airpod pros at a discount.
    I agree with you on the powerbeats with the charging thing, don't think it's a magnet issue but because you have to be so precise with the connectors. Instead of having a large area of connection like the airpod pros it's a 50/50 chance they connect. What I found out is if you put them in the case and then hit them like you would a pack of cigarettes they will connect properly and charge all the time.
    Unlike the presenter my ears cannot keep the regular airpods in AT ALL. They fly out my ears if I say the wrong word. The airpod pros stick very comfortably in my ear.
    I do lose a lot of battery life switching to the airpod pros but the charging case is SO tiny compared to the powerbeats that it does not both me at all. The powerbeats I would leave the case at home if I could as much as possible while the airpod pros I can take the case and have it in the same pocket as my wallet without a bulge.

    Great stuff Matt. I got some thoughts, I’m currently using the Powerbeats pro for when I do some light exercise or when I’m on a small trip somewhere. The ear hook and battery life are perfect, but I also love that It is lightning compatible as this allows me to move with a single charger for all my devices “Powerbeats pro, iPhone 12 and iPad mini 5”. I mainly listen to podcasts with the earbuds or maybe use them when watching some occasional Netflix or Disney +, I don’t think spatial audio will necessarily enhance my content consumption tbh. I may hold off from upgrading till i absolutely need to, but when I do upgrade it will be something that uses the same charger as my phone, whether MagSafe or whatever (a MagSafe iPad would totally get my money).
    Another thing, have you noticed how long it takes for someone to visit apples website and locate the beats products then add to the bag as opposed to the AirPods ? I think it takes twice as long to buy beats from apple because of the placement, could take longer if you don’t know where to look for it.
