'a strange drizzly Scottish day'..... looks exactly what i picture a perfect Scottish day to be. club in hand, castle ruins in the background, drizzle in the air... the only thing missing is a guy in a kilt with a set of bagpipes playing in the rough down range for effect.
Hey thanks! Still teaching this 1 year later sir! Me and my buddie all thw way in Florida are learning! I just hit a 175 post with my 6 cause of this! So cool to do thanks!
Hi Steve I have been fighting against early extension for many years and shots to the right appear in one round and two or three holes are disaster, I am a 14 handicap. I had never found a tip that explained to me so clearly what is happening to me and most importantly the solution, thank you very much, blessings and success, I also subscribed to your channel, regards, Caracas, Venezuela, Pedro
Just sent this to my 14yo son, who is currently on the way to golf with his dad. He hits golf balls so far, but lots of them off to the right. We just couldn't figure out what he was doing wrong. This is going to make a lovely you man very happy. Thank you. .
I'm a senior golfer with a what I call a basic swing I don't have rotation anymore but I still. Play a decent round of golf . I went to the range yesterday and I see people doing what I call the same old same old . I can always work out a solution to a swing problem a weak grip grip it stronger shaft lean at impact put it in at address. Swinging over the top swing more around the right shoulder instead of swinging over the top of one's head .Steve your a golf coach you see it all .a lot of golfers do not have any imagination and never will no matter how many vids they watch such as yours and many more on RUclips they don't take it in and never will I repeat there is always a solution .
Nice one Steve. When I catch what feels correct, it still flies to the right, and everything inconsistent. I always feel like I'm toe'ing it. Watched this and tried just keeping arms stiff at the elbows (more than usual) taking a 1/3rd swing and staying down through the shot.... Sudden 145yd carries with a 7.... And consistent for once. 80% straight now with a slight push draw., instead of 95% 'surprises'.
I feel people who don’t rotate their lead shoulder always early extend because they are focused on hitting the ball. Causing them to stop rotating and rip the club from out to in.
I only have this issue with long irons woods and driver. On the simulator my 7-LW shot shape just says straight.. are there any training aids you’d recommend? I do have an issue with turning over and getting good extension just haven’t found a good coach to give all that money to
Early extension gone, over the top gone, body rotation check, and hitting in front of ball most of the time but still early release wrist hinge and trail forearm so work in progress!
This is awesome. Question though, being a woman, is it possible that the stick gets higher because of our breast? Is there a way to adjust in some way? Thanks
I believe this is exactly what is occasionally sending my short irons weak and right. Definitely saving this video.

It was his day off 😉

I'm new to golf. This tip helped me a lot. Im making more contact with the ball and hitting it a lot straighter... thank you!

I have never seen this demonstration and it is a good one that I will use and hopefully fix some miss-hitting issues...thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
Nice one Steve.

Fantastic video. Something I’m determined to work on. So pleased you left in the shots that didn’t work, feels much more authentic.
Thanks, Steve I push the ball right on most shots, I will be giving this a go in the morning to see if I am early extending
Can't wait to get home to practice this move. Great as always
I believe you’ve just solved my issue! Thanks
I just finished playing and had 4 shots go right and was trying to figure out why. Perfect timing on this video for me. Thanks very much!1
That’s a great explanation and tip
Enjoyed that …. Made great sense. You’re an excellent communicator 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Such a good video.
Well done Steve 👏
Thank you. Works a treat. 😊
Excellent Steve!
Thank you, sir. Great video!
Will try this - think I tend to do this occasionally !
Awesome drill
Great video
Thanks!
Another great video
Great demo

great drill for irons, how could you use this for the driver swing when you're not trying to compress it so much?
Good Tips, Thanks 👍
Minted as always.

Good idea!
I like it a lot.
Thanks Steve...Same drill for Driver?
Early extension gone, over the top gone, body rotation check, and hitting in front of ball most of the time but still early release wrist hinge and trail forearm so work in progress!
Great thanks
Very clever 😊
Steve - do you have a video on ball position in Eureka for irons, fairway woods, driver?
Hi David, yes go to www.eurekagolfswing.com and under package plans you will find “Ball Positioning & Shot Shaping. Thanks 👍
@@stevejohnstongolf ok, I’m on it. Was holding off until a promotion but I need Eureka!
How does the drill work for longer clubs ie driver bigger swing
Is that the same with driver as I hit it out straight right
Only one way to find out
This is awesome. Question though, being a woman, is it possible that the stick gets higher because of our breast? Is there a way to adjust in some way? Thanks
Will this drill work for a driver
I wish I could have had your lessons 50 years ago I would be a halh decent golfer now 😢
I prefer blaming a cheap club and buying a new one method.
