It is single plane, he can't call it that or Graves Golf will sue him again. Seems they have a trademark on the term. I'm one of his instructors. Steve has "discovered" what we have been teaching for years....in Kirk's case, probably 20 years of so, in my case 8 years. It does make the golf swing very simple and easy!
That explanation pure gold !! To get around this de Chambeau simply uprighted his lofts with one length shafts to keep the constant distance from ball and constant lie angle constant to help with one plane . Makes sense from a physics and engineering perspective .
Excellent video Steve because I switched to the single plain taught by Todd about 10 years ago. I’m now 73 and playing the best golf of my life. I’m 12.1 handicap Skip a rock
I was fortunate enough to see Moe give a clinic just north of Toronto. He hit balls for about an hour and NEVER miss hit a single shot! Single plane golf is the only way to play. Long straight and accurate all the time!! Thank you Moe.
Steve, loving your stuff sir. In this video you promised the driver version. Let’s have it then sunshine. I’ve watch all the Todd stuff and the moe classics, but it’s your interpretations that resonate. ❤
Adopted this about 2 months ago, haven’t stopped winning. Just won our club championship over the weekend with a big gap between me and 2nd place. went to one length clubs also.
Steve, you make us want to move to Scotland. You're my new #1 RUclips golf content guy. You're very relatable and entertaining. I'm taking lessons right now and my instructor at GolfTec, here in the US, is teaching me (Steve) this exact same motion and I love it! It's a big change from my old "traditional" motion and I have a few sore back muscles but I love the results I'm getting. Great work, and I'm looking forward to the driver video. Thanks.
Look forward to the Driver Vid. Also, watching Todd Graves, I always thought he looked to be standing a long way from the ball, it was like he was reaching for the ball over a 3ft fence between him and the ball ! Excellent clarification from you on his method.
You have the skills to try different swings and be good at it. I liked the logic of Moes swing and tried it many times with little success. Most Golfers struggle as well or Todds Lessons would be, Set up at impact position, stand further away, arms up a bit,Feet further apart, tilt to the right a bit more. "There you go,that will be 10 dollars please".
Tom Saguto on here also is very big on the single plane golf swing. More stack and tilt style, but single plane, quiet hands, and hands low around the body. Great stuff
Excellent video. I find that the single plane is easier on my glass back. Your enthusiasm is refreshing..despite your "why bother" video! Don't give up, pal, more on the BdC single plane swing please. Well done to you.
Great video. Love the ball flight. I got to see Moe Norman a few times when he would come to the Canadian Open at Glen Abbey in Oakville. He would set up in the practice area and the pros would come over to watch him. He could make the ball do whatever he wanted. Thanks for the video Steve.
Hi Steve, I tried single plane a few years ago. It started great - I’d never hit the ball so well... then it went off so switched to Stack & Tilt... then that went off... back to Single Plane having watched your previous SP vids... hitting the ball dead straight again but losing some yards... better than being in the trees though! Looking forward to the Driver video! Great work!
Awesome video your farther along than many people are who try the single plane swing. Many quit trying just before they get it. The next key is making sure your clubs are fit to that swing. Todd’s brother Tim does free fittings online. I would get those numbers and have your clubs adjusted it’s amazing the difference
I have been swinging like this for a long time. I worked out how I could swing without causing pain in my back as I have severe low spine issues. Played for over 40yrs and I’m hitting the ball better than ever due to very few moving parts, it’s a simple back and thru. It’s not how it’s just how many 😊
Just for your journey ... you might find "value" in "Het nieuwe golfen" it is in dutch (turn captions on) but has quite some elements specificaly around starting from impact posititon. 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
Thanks for the new information! It solves a problem I was having trying this one-plane swing which was the lie angle of the club being too flat causing the ball to go too far to the right.
I started watching the Moe Norman swing about 7 years ago. I tried it with only success in the Driver and woods. I felt I would have to go down the Bryson method and have clubs with a different lie angle and length for the irons to work for me. Earlier this year I found in a charity shop the CD's for "The Single Plane Solution" by Todd Graves. £1.00. Since there is so much interest in this swing now, I wonder what they might be worth now - I might even rent them out - eh ! Steve ?
I tried this two years ago, I was really getting to grips with it…I got talked out of persevering with it by my son, more fool me. I watched this video last night and went to the range today. Smoked my driver, fairways, hybrid and irons effortlessly and straighter. I need a swing that is repeatable and this for me is it, who cares if it looks unconventional. Exactly as you say, less variables leads to consistency.
Love the videos Steve! But Kirk Junge's Setup for impact single plane system is way closer to Bryson's swing than Graves. You should watch Kirk Junge's youtube video "Why I don't swing like Moe."
I'm very 'handsy' with my golf swing. Came from years of not being able to make a full turn due due bad hips from birth. Both hips have been replaced some time ago now, and I have a full range of motion. The hands and wrists remain far too active throughout. I wonder, this could be the one for me! Will DEFINITELY give this a try
Sensei, is the follow through the same as Eureka? Ours/yours seems more complete … but the view may be different form Italy 😂 - seriously is it coz we are open at the start? then again B has an open stance but with that speed, core and balance he could use a stick
Steve, besides Bryson, Steve Stricker, Sergio Garcia, Lee Trevino and Nancy Lopez are the best examples of having pro-golf success with Moe's way in their own right. They all might look a we-bit different at set up, but once they move they all show set-up and impact in the same plane. There's a few other good examples that you may also know about on RUclips, but most don't play pro-golf. Here's a couple of examples: Steve Stricker: ruclips.net/video/R-cIih2I2eE/видео.html Sergio Garcia: ruclips.net/video/ku5QaAYD6jU/видео.html Nancy Lopez: ruclips.net/video/6VeRj7WaJCg/видео.html ... ruclips.net/video/UPOPIKWMi9w/видео.html Nancy Lopez record: ruclips.net/video/cu9NTogmLf0/видео.html Lee Trevino: ruclips.net/video/u0QLCEv9KA8/видео.html
Steve, have you changed the lie angle of your irons? I know that we do all lift our hands at impact but you have also moved away from the ball address.
I do not understand how you are using the 3 alignment sticks? It looks like you have a very open face aligned with the first stick....then your face is aligned with the center stick and , who know's how you are using the last stick? please talk about your alignment more. Thanks! I've been a Graves Golf-Moe Norman fan now for about 5 years.
Steve there is no "The single plane swing" just as there is no "The conventional swing". There are variations of both. Let's see...Leadbetter's A swing, Stack and Tilt, Gravity Golf to name a few. Graves' Moe Norman swing is one of the variations of single plane. It is not "The" only one. . You are not swinging Moe's swing here, You are swinging Kirk Junge's Setup 4 Impact swing. Graves wants you to keep your trail heel down and shift laterally into a bent lead knee. You are turning into a straightening lead knee and allowing your trail heel to come off the ground. I'm sure both variations work for different people, but just remember "single plane" is described by setting up on your impact plane and swinging as closely as possible on that same plane. Dechambeau is very much closer to Setup 4 Impact than he is to Norman's version. Glad to know you have seen the light! Single Plane is awesome!
I know the Moe Norman lovers are going to hate this comment but Mack O'Grady said when they went to watch Moe the strikes wear thin with a weak ball flight. Just saying. Not trying to start trouble.
I’ve got Mo’s book The feeling of Greatness. There’s pictures of Faldo, Nick Price , Vijay Singh and Fred Couples all watching Mo in disbelief at his accuracy and his quality of strike. He even blew Tigers mind.
You should check out Kirk Junge instead of Graves---- Graves tries to exactly mirror Moe and thats in itself is the biggest issue. Def check out Kirk Junge
Dabbled with one plane swing during lockdown, at the time there was a disused sports field behind me, now a housing estate, positive straight, consistent, negative lost tons of distance, my 7 iron dropped from 165 to 130, I'll unsubscribe if this is the route you are taking, not for me
I tried it in 2006 and stuck with it for 3 months and had the same experience. However I tried it again this year and have had better results. The issue I had previously was I had too much tension in my arms. I’ve addressed that now and my distances are up by 2 meters with my 7 iron. But the main difference now is the ball flight is arrow straight.
Bryson's clubs are all 5 and 6 degrees strong. His 5 wood is 13°. He reveals that the John Daly on his latest episode. He's also young strong and is in the gym everyday. Just saying
Check out Kirk Junge. He's single plain to an extent but calls his mettod set up for impact.

The Golfing Machine and Moe Norman. 💯 How can you go wrong. Good stuff Steve.

Funny you should say chasing the ball. I remember reading Lee Trevino saying that he chases the ball and keeps the club square for a fraction longer.
You're getting the results that Moe got. Now you're starting to sound like him, "Straight shot, every time." Too funny. Good work!
Helps with my bad back Steve , thank you .

That wrist angle also allows the advice to grip the club in the lead hand's finger pads more natural. Worth trying!

Stricker also has single plane...nice work brother! I incorporated a yr ago and it has been revolutionary...
Another great lesson. Thanks Steve
Wedges are my thoughts with this setup
When I stand further with my irons, I hit them SO much better! Doesn’t look proper but it yields great results.

Let’s see the Moe finish
Are we going to see a revised one length video one of these days?
Are you sacrificing any distance with this technique and does it require readjustment of the lie angles? Great video, very interesting.
I'm a new subscriber...so may have missed this info. Does this more "raised grip" angle of the club require an assessment of the lie angle?
So looking forward to the driver swing!!

Has Bryson got it right with single plane and one length clubs?
Hi Steve. I have messaged you via your website. Some very very Interesting stuff for you to have a look at. 👍
Are you using jumbo grips Steve?
Great stuff Steve driver coming next ???👍
Steve, with the club raised, is the grip still in my fingers or is it more palm based? Best
Great Moe impression😅
Dont you need 1 length irons hybird woods and what about the driver? Doesn't the longer driver club change things?
What’s the difference between one plane and eureka ?
Are setting up with any right wrist bend? And if so then are you simply maintaining that or increasing it?
YES - 😊
Check out Kirk Junge also very good single plain 😊
