It's so good to hear an expert explain this in layman's terms in, what I believe, is a relatively short time . Wish more doctors were to be found that have the understanding & all the questions we, those that have osteoporosis & have; and not had their doctor discuss it in much detail. So, thank you. Looking forward to reading the latest info from your Institute.

The ''experts'' disagree so the layman has no chance. Too many studies financed by the drug companies there are few impartial findings. Sadly it is almost impossible to make an informed decision in relation to drug ''treatments''. A very sad state of affairs when money is mixed up with health care.

Right, because you need vitamin K2 to get the calcium to where it's suppose to go and not build up in your arteries giving you a heart attack or build up in other places causing stenosis. Eat grass fed beef and organic veggies. And don't forget to check your Iodine.

No you don't eat CHIA SEEDS higher in vit D than any other thing !!!

don't eat beef, it increases the chance of getting cancer. Eat leafy greens instead, al lot of K1 in there, which is converted to k2 by your own body.

Wonderful Lecture! I was wondering if the size/weight of the osteoporosis patient might be relevant in medication dosage. I am 100 pounds and small like the Asian patients you described who tended to have more fractures using medication. The dosage seems standard to all. I am not sure exactly how medication works but should smaller frames have lower dosages?

Wonder what forms of calcium the study used that decreased cardio, kidney health. What are the co nutrients of calcium. Bones are calcium, phosphorus, magnesium and other trace minerals. Also collagen. Have read vite D can pull calcium from bones if not taking enough calcium or can deposit it in arteries, is that true. Read that vite K2 (tempe, grass fed liver, cheese...) can help put the calcium into the helpful places. Also each person needs a little bit different things. How often does our body break down bone and rebuild? WOuld a pattern of take a drug off / on . Also some foods are high oxalic acid if effect loosing bone density, espec wonder about the fluoride thats put in our water as read it can effect bone/teeth health.

Why are doctors pushing drugs without giving a more balanced view about the many side effects? No mention of HRT, no mention of weight training, diet. Really fel these doctors are too hand in hand with big pharmaceuticals to be able to advise patients fairly.
