    Well this gives me confidence in doing it myself. I just dropped the head off at the machine shop and the guy asked if I wanted him to adjust the lash and do a valve job. Now I think I’m just going to have him do the machine work, should save myself quite a bit of money. Thanks man!

    hey man, im having a weird tap/slight knock noise around 2000-3500 rpm with my 7MGTE. doesnt really happen at idle when i give it gas in neutral, but it happens under a load. doesnt happen when im slightly on the gas or on decel either. i noticed there is a slight misfire too if i bring it up from idle just revving it. any ideas?

      As you might know these engines are prone to rod knock i hope thats not your issue. Try to hear if its up top like your valve adjustment. You can use a long screwdriver to your ear place it on your valve covers and see if you can hear it in the top end.

      Same with mine.. sounds like rod knocking but it seems to come from the head, not the block

      @@josephmaldonado2521 HI, saw a different video where the shims/buckets are checked with the cam loose, not attached. Checking each set of lobes on the up position, rotating the cam and continuing on the next set of lobes. Is that possible in this engine? Thanks.

      Hey thanks for your question I'm not exactly sure what you're asking as far as the cam not being attached. Are you saying not bolted down?

    • @thehugob77
      @thehugob77 3 года назад

      @@josephmaldonado2521 yeah, not bolted down. the guy simply places it on top with the lobes upward, checks clearance, then moves the cam, changing the lobe positions as needed, not bolted down.

      Oh wow no they have to be torqued down to spec in order to measure the operating/assembled clearances. I mean you can measure the parts while the are not assembled but not check the clearances hope that helps. Hope I understood what you're asking

      Hey Tory I would check realstreet performance or driftmotion first.
