Hopes t😂hat drain fitting with the stat-o-seals holding up so far? I might have to do something similar
No leaks 😁👍
Do you know if this measurements or the process of measuring with aftermarket cams like brain crowder?
Does the companies of those forged rods and pistons give instructions for install and torque specs? Did you measure the rods for rod for bolt stretch?
I believe it was around 43-47 f-lbs with arp lube, sorry it’s been a minute
7mGtE for the win. Just bought a 89 bottom block for my 90 supra turbo shell. Looking forward to learning from you
Hell yea that’s awesome man 🔥💪🏼
Seems to sound good! Can we get an exhaust vid without music please?
Thank you. Yes That’s a great idea. 👌🏼
Hey man, is your motor on a standalone ECU? I’ve always heard you have to be on a standalone to use a BOV that releases to atmosphere vice recirculating to motor.
Hey It is running on the stock ecu for now. There is a very short delay with air to fuel mix between gears but not very noticeable.
What you heard is correct tho, for best results keep it recirculating BOV.
Awesome! Thanks.
These series of videos have been a great help thanks. How many Thou was taken off the block to get that finish?
That’s good hear, you’re welcome. It’s been a minute I will need to find the recipe from the machine shop 😅
I did the same thing to my nom turbo block gte head 7mgte but am having issues with oil coming out of the air intake
Oil in the intake would be from a bad turbo seal or excessive blow by from the engine is my first thought.
@@josephmaldonado2521 you where right it actually worked once I changed the seal
Excellent! that’s what I like to hear 💪🏼
Would this be the same way its bolted into the mk3 supra?
Pretty much, I just used the pre 89 steel mount brackets with my 22re mounts
Ay mate, never done a clutch before so this helped mega to understand, just wondering is it possible to do this with the engine still in the car from underneath?
That’s great to hear. Yes you can just change it from underneath.
@@josephmaldonado2521 perfect, thanks man
@MaximumDorifto no problem
Thanks for these 7M videos. Started stripping and checking my head this week
No problem ✊🏼🫡
I’ll be doing this next summer if I don’t get a round to it this year, do you think the arp studs are a better option than just the arp bolts?
The studs are the way to go
trying to rebuild my head currently, but the knuts don't fit in my head onto the stud. Any idea how to fix this?
Are you using the same arp studs and nuts I used?
Usually the washers are the issue once the head is already installed onto the arp studs. So I place the washers in the head and carefully with some help line everything up and slide the head down onto the studs.
@@josephmaldonado2521 yes, although I may have the wrong size nuts. I called ARP and they are sending me the correct ones.
@@josephmaldonado2521 I was planning on doing it that way, but the washer part of the nut is too wide in diameter and can't fit past the walls of the actual cylinder head itself. Not even taking the cams out would fix my issue because the washer part of the nut cant fit past the head to thread onto the studs.
Did you get the correct nuts from arp?
I just picked up an ‘81 and will need to follow these steps for tank cleaning. Thanks for sharing in detail. 😎
No problem 🫡✊🏼
I started my celica supra, but it only started with start pilot, because theres no fuel comming from the tank to the engine. Im looking on the internet what it could be, but im seeing several thing on what it could be, whats the most important things to check out?
Of course always check your fuses, then if your able to get your hands on a test light you could test that your getting power at the connector at the fuel pump. Just unplug the pump and test the pins in the connector while someone try’s to start it. If you’re getting power then it’s probably your pump itself.
Was that differential a 6.7" ring gear or a 7.5" ring gear. I have one of these in my shop and it has an identical diff in it. I'd like to know which one it is before i tear it apart. Thanks.
Hey, this one has the 7.5 ring gear
@josephmaldonado2521 Thank you for the information. I've since learned that there is also an I.D. tag on the firewall that contains the axle code. Thank you, again. Have a good one.
my neigbour is the same..and i hate her to the deepest.i´ve already talked to my landlord and he´s going to kick her out soon. i dont like cuba and cuba people. screaming 24/7 on the phone iam so pissed against cuba people its crazy
Hi the flywheel was a 7mgte or 7mge ? I juste wanna know if a can use a w58 clutch on a 7mgte flywheel
Hey, I used the 7mge/w58 flywheel and clutch with a w58 trans. If you have a r154 trans you will need to use the clutch to match it as far as I know.
Hey dude we'd love an update. Your W58 to 7MGTE videos helped me alot
Hey sorry I will be back with more videos of the car, life has been very busy. I’m still here haven’t forgotten about my followers 🫡 thank you for checking out my content and I’m glad it has help. If you have any specific questions I will try to answer them for you.
Very helpful thank you bro
You are very welcome 🤙🏼🫡
What did you use to paint the transmission?
A high temperature engine paint will do the job 🤙🏼
Why does the crank look overheated or discolored around some of the journals? And for the thrust washers.....I thought that the lube is only suppose to be between the crank and the bearings. Not between the bearing and the block?
Hey there that’s a great question. Honestly I figured some of it could be from it’s age I’m sure it’s been threw a few heat cycles in it’s life especially with the head gasket issues most of them end up having. the important part was that it was inspected and cleaned up and all of the clearances were on point. The only thing left to do was send it. As far as the thrust washer lube it helps hold the washer to the block during installation of the crank is all but not necessary. But I will say during this process all you can think about is getting lube anywhere possible lol
What bearings did you use? Thank you
So sorry just seeing your message. I used king bearings so far so good 🤙🏼
What bearings did you use? Thank you
I used king bearings. There are other options like ACL,Clevite
@@josephmaldonado2521 Thanks for the reply. I’m about to rebuild one myself
@user-qq7zq2gk8h no problem and that’s great to hear 👌🏼
what are you dipping the bolts in?
Great video, thanks man Just have a question, do you know if an 83 Supra fuel tank will fit my 83 Celica?
Thank you I believe the both 83 Supra and celicas have the same setup with the external fuel pumps mounted to the chassis
Pretty sure that style of paint is a replica of Initial D's Hachiroku. Japanese for "eight-six". Similarly the AE85 was commonly called "Hachi-Go (ハチゴー)", meaning "eight-five". Want to do my Mk3 up in that paint scheme, probably just wrap it that way... My Ma70 was purchased new by my Father, and we worked on her together, so waching you two is great to see. Keep up the content! Long live the 7M ❤
Yes indeed it is. It’s actually pretty cool because more people know of the ae86 so they think it is at first and when we tell them it’s a supra they are so surprised because they don’t know this year of the Supra and then they have a new found love for these lol.
…and wow your father was secure your supra new that awesome!!! Working on my cars with my kids is definitely the best part about building my car. Thank you for checking out the channel. Long live the 7m 💪🏼
Nice
What ended up being the issue for the slow crank? Was it the battery or starter? Great work btw and thanks for sharing !
The starter it works good for a start then not so good. Had to jump it with my suv for it to be somewhat consistent.
And no problem 🤙🏼
😅❤
Congrats on getting it started! SO cool! My 7MGTE in a MKii is still going strong. 🔥
Thank you! !🤙🏼 and that is really good to hear man 💪🏼🔥
@@josephmaldonado2521what’s up with the Celica?
What shifter did you go with. I'm having difficulty finding one that fits my w58.
I have a cube brand style shifter currently. The shifter is tall but has a nice short throw. The one in the video was a random short shifter I got off of eBay it wasn’t that comfortable shifting a bit of a reach for 5th gear
👍
Hi my 84 Supra the fuel ⛽️ pomp is inside the tank
That’s right. my celica is a 83 so it originally was external
Great job
Thank you 🤙🏼
Great video. Clean install 7M 🔥
Thanks fam 🤙🏼
Quick question, I have some valve stem seals from a gasket kit I have and it’s 24 of them and they all look the same, when I look up other kits I notice some are 12 and 12 where 12 of them are blue and 12 of them are a red color, does it matter which I get or are all 24 of them the same, sorry if I confused my wording 😂any input is appreciated
If you get a kit that has all the same color it doesn’t matter. I believe the oem set is all the Same color also some aftermarket brands choose to make them different colors and for some motors the valve stems could be a different diameter.
F Cubans worst people in the world. I've had tons of cuban neighbors they always scream, listen to music and do nothing all day, just drink and smoke. They have no respect for the neighbors, they can be listening to their music all night. I say go back to your fn country if you want to bring your ghetto sht with you . I have weeks without proper sleep. These animals just wasting air

Your video helped me when re-installing my W58. Especially on where the grease goes. Thanks for posting this.
That’s awesome glad I could help 🤘🏼
Nice work. You're really inspiring me to do this work myself. I have a question for you... did I miss the part where you used plastigauge to make sure the clearances were good or is that not a thing with the crank?
Hey sorry for the late reply. I did use the plastigauge for the crank and you definitely want to do it for your engine as well unfortunately I didn’t catch that part on film for ya. Thank you for checking out the channel 🤙🏼
Hello again. Wondering if you had considered doing the "Quake" mod to the head? For those unfamiliar with it, this involves using inserts that have the built-in washers. The idea is that the sleeved washer prevents the head from collapsing around the studs.
Yes I looked into that mod unfortunately didn’t get around to it I would definitely recommend doing it wish I would have just to be on the safe side
Do u use brake cleaner to clean the crankshaft when you set it upwards on the ground?
Hey sorry for the late reply. yes I used brake clean to get the cranked cleaned up and most of the cleaning on the entire engine I lost count of how many cans I went threw 😅 they were a lot cheaper at the time for sure lol
would you still have to drop the differential or pull the axle shaft to get to the side differential seals? bc i really don't want to take off the whole tire and stuff
The side seals can be done in the car. The hardest part would be prying on the shaft evenly to get it to pop out of the diff after that pop that seal out 🤙🏼
Nice job! How is the engine holding up now? I'm assuming you're driving the car by now.
Thank you it is running and driving now like a beast I have lots to do and quite a few videos to upload to catch up my channel thank you for checking it out 🤙🏼
did you use a mk4 slave cylinder as well?
I used the mk3 slave cylinder
I got a mk3 slave cylinder and it’s not lining up. Any suggestions?
Verry nice thanks for your time in making this
My pleasure 🤙🏼
