When I agreed to do this, I didn't know about the exhaust upgrade, but once I got there and found out after asking, I wasn't gonna back down but to me that makes the 60hp deficit look even more promising for the Roush in my opinion
Not even close to an apples to apples test when the VMP car has headers, high flow cats, and X-pipe... Especially on boosted cars. Put the same exhaust combo on the roush blower car and re-run the dyno for a FAIR apples to apples comparison.
10-15 hp from headers and no cats on a supercharged coyote?? Okay got it. Also free flowing exhaust should lower boost so if they’re making the same psi in this comparison, the numbers would be a lot closer in a proper apples to apples test in my opinion.
Roush Phase 2 still wouldn't have made up the disparity in rwhp based on what we've seen on 2.65L TVS blowers with exhaust mods, especially on conservative tuning from Roush. As they said, it's an 8-year old rotor pack design... Roush hasn't really redesigned the head unit, just outfitted the kit the new S650's dual intake/throttle body set-up...
I made 714 on their Dyno at 20degrees hotter and much higher humidity with just the stage 2 and a corsa. The exhaust isn’t making up much extra power. The phase 2 isn’t in the same power level as the VMP/Whipple blower. VMP with the win.
(That last comment at the end about the headers really gave away the goose..) Yeah header's will only net you like 10/15 HP UNTUNED but soon as you boost the car it can turn into a 50/60 HP difference.. And not for nothing you can hear the difference between cars, you can tell one has no cats and the other does... It's the cats that are holding the red car back.. But honestly 650 wheel is great for a 50 state legal car.. Not everyone lives in a lawless state so some of us need to keep our cars legal for the states we live in.. Oh and I forgot all about gearing too, He said his was a base GT, which if one has a 3,15 rear and the other is 3,55 it's going to show in the torque and HP numbers too. Also the Performance Packs have better cooling and gearing usually so just food for thought. Bottom line though, Anything that takes your car from 400ish wheel to over 650/700 wheel is an amazing jump in power either way..
Nice setups. These coyotes are no joke with boost. I finally lifted a head on my stock 2015 gen 2 block besides opg. I was running 3.0 Whipple w/1050ID inj., Upper 3.375 pulley stock lower balancer and E85 fuel. Last Dyno 860whp.
VMP is at it again, comparing apples to oranges. Of course, they're going to favor their own *cough* (WHIPPLE's) supercharger. And it’s funny how they take a jab at the TVS in the end! 😆 Honestly, VMP fell off after the Gen 3R. Plus, we're back to comparing dyno numbers, which don't matter much in the real world. I’ve yet to see a dyno sheet win a race.
Some guys say you can slap longtubes on without tune on these s650s and cpu reads the change somewhat but idk. Gain 10-15 and put these on when u put the supercharger on and get 15 or so. Idk if there is a na tune yet for s650. I know with mopar and ford you don’t get too much 25-40hp with tune on s550
I would love to see what the maximum potential of both of these superchargers is on the new S650 with aftermarket tuning (when available). On 93 and E85 for a good comparison. If I'm a betting man, VMP/Whipple Gen 6 wins easily... Even if both Mustangs have full aftermarket exhaust. It won't make up for the power disparity between them. Like they say, there's no replacement for displacement. This applies to both engines and PD superchargers...lol😂
I ordered the gen2r hardware kit AND the gen3r hardware kit just to be sure I got all the bolts I needed for my gen2r head unit and lower mani/ic brick. Neither pack came with the 6 manifold to cylinder head bolts man! WHY! it’s a hardware pack, that’s the most important hardware lol
Reason I went with my Whipple stage 2 over 1 it comes with larger injectors a Walbro fuel pump way bigger throttle body larger heat exchanger and in kit 2 comes with all of 1 plus 2 orings gaskets bolts throttle plates etc, Stage2 is definitely different than 1! Blower is the same but Not the kit!
Nothing about this was apples to apples. You’ve got full free flowing exhaust vs stock exhaust and revving the whipple out to 7800 vs 7300. Do better starkie
@@728GT lmfao rpm doesn’t matter…just take a look at when vmp ran the whipple out to 7100vs 7800, don’t be dumb. The rpm and exhaust easily makes up for 50-60whp.

I’d like to see what that new gen 6 whipple does with tuning on a s550. And how much of an improvement over the gen 5 whipple
Guys this wasnt an apples to apples. REV that Roush out then do a dyno
Right now the kit Rev limiter is set to 7300
It was revved out as far as the tune allows. Look at the run the Whipple made to 7,000... Still 715whp
Rev it out for what? Rpm for Rpm its still less than the whipple. Its math
Do you guys make a 3.0 tvs for the 2014 gt500 and if so is it a special order item?
Whipple has been King a long time and i personally love the combination of Whipple w the VMP King of customer service for long time!
