Julia, you are the true GOAT. I have started my photography business since 1st of July. I am still quite insecure about posing people and I sometimes have the idea that I am repeating poses during that hour. And you just taught me that it is OK! In the past week I have started booking more and more shoots of people who think I am doing an amazing job even if I don't see it myself. Keep up this type of content as I believe it is helping A LOT of new photographers all over the world.
One thing I like to do is take screenshots of poses I’m inspired by and refer to them on-site. I use Pinterest as inspiration and screenshot poses that looks cool and then try to use that inspiration as a base! Sooner or later I’ll get creative and do other poses
I didn't expect your video today, but here they say the later the evening, the better the guests. Thank you 👏 for the helpful video. I will note and test the individual posings. I'm curious how it will be.
I 100 percent agree with all of this! ALSO I've found that bringing a Bluetooth speaker with fun upbeat music works wonders - especially with people who are nervous/not used to shooting. :)
Julia, have you done a video kind of like "how to take portraits/pose women who are not models"? I seen one like this for men, but if you have one for women, including any kind of introductory description or instructions you give before a shoot, that would be great to know!
Thanks for your videos! They are always so helpful, love watching them! I have a request or suggestion for you that might be very helpful to all the new photographers, like myself :) would you please share how you deliver images to your customers? I mean do you compress them after editing to share them with your clients? if so can you share some tips on how to compress from big sizes (straight from the camera) to smaller size and at the same time keeping good quality of the photos? what do you use to share photos, cloud storage or upload them to a gallery on your site? Thank you! :)
Thank you for the tips, it’s very insightful! It might be one of the best videos I’ve seen regarding leading people posing for portrait photos. And as usual, I love the results of the photo you posted in the video.
The gentleman with the GAP t-shirt at beginning.. You state you captured the shots with an A7III yet it looks like you were shooting with a Canon? I only ask as i'm intrigued and looking to purchase a 5d mk IV. Great work!
Very helpful video. I definitely like the natural carefree poses. And having dialogue helps to break the ice too and then the people are more comfortable too. Always helpful hints from your videos. Thanks for sharing.
Stellar content as usual, I think posing is every photographers bugbear at some stage of their career. Thank you for sharing these simple easy to implement suggestions. You rock!
Love this video. I am a new photographer trying to figure out what I want to do. I never can pose in pics so for me to tell someone how to pose is not nature for me lol so this helped a lot!!!
I haven’t uploaded the entire behind the scenes of that shoot! But maybe I can edit a little video with it to upload soon 😄 I really loved that photoshoot so would be great to share it in full.
I absolutely love all your videos! The day that I can afford a Sony camera, I will be testing out all your tips and tricks I've learned over the years.
This might be a different kind of video, but I’d love to watch you showing outfits you’re going to shoot with and why (outfits on the models just to clarify lol)
Great video Julia! How do you get those recordings of the shoot that you put on the bottom right? So cool. Anyway, those photos came out amazing and those locations gave me a lot of inspiration
Hi Julia is your a7 iv house make a strange noise inside like the ibs is loose ? Just got mine but when is off something is moving inside but when is on is normal, is that ok ?
Hello First I d like to thank you for your videos , tips and the channel itsbvery very useful for me as a start-up in portrait photography. But I have a question pls if you may reply me usinf Af facw and eye detect . I noticed You dont use it at all I thought it is easier to take shoots for it and I was phitographing a ballerina on stage but Af with eye detection was very slow Without was really fast but I couldn't focus all the time on her eyes while shebwas rotating If you may pls give me a reply regarding AF or make tips for Af while taking your photos will be so helpful Also I would like To know more about you wb settings if you don't mind because I am struggling with Wb
Maybe some tips on not so model like petite subjects? Like the regular everyday women we see kind of more medium to large body build mom like figure??.. the real not too perfect world..
Everything I talk about in this video does not depend on what the person looks like. Like I said this is what I do with all my clients and the majority of them are not pro models. Sorry I didn’t share enough examples, I will work on that 💛
The dread! My stiff lifeless posse. They don’t seem to understand that their objective is to engaging the viewer as the subject of interest within the image.
The problem here is every picture looks nice because you are using models, with normal people, the most of the poses looks.. well.. Would be great to make tutorials with non so perfect beautiful people.

Julia coming in with the save. Honestly posing and flash is the hardest for me. I always overthink them both.

Favorite tips: Keep the instructions general and don't micro-manage the poses.

Problem I have when having them move is blur if not using a fast enough shutter speed. What shutter speeds do you recommend?
Thank you for making this! It is so helpful and made me look at posing in a much more fluid way which I think will be very helpful moving forward :))

Whats the gadget with antennas attached to the camera?

Favourite: All of them! But . if pressed - I'd say repeating poses.
Love your videos! I do have one issue, your presets can only be paid using PayPall. Will not open an account, is there an alternative?

Everything depends on planning.
Maybe some tips on not so model like petite subjects? Like the regular everyday women we see kind of more medium to large body build mom like figure??.. the real not too perfect world..
It's all about the eye contact with the camera. Let her see to you through the camera. Let her be natrural, be herself.
Everything I talk about in this video does not depend on what the person looks like. Like I said this is what I do with all my clients and the majority of them are not pro models. Sorry I didn’t share enough examples, I will work on that 💛
Iv been thinking about dying all my hair dark brown but then I realize juli has the same hair as me 🤣📸
