Personally I would say the ES has much better look from the side and has more Lexus's elegance, clean sharp straight line characteristics than the LS has, somemore the new LS looks humpback.. Anyway still very lovely cars.

Love the car from the headlight back, that front grill is another story though. When will Lexus realize that the front end on its cars/SUV are butt "ugly". Acura changed the "beak" grill on its cars and they now sell more cars than ever. Almost every car enthusiasts/reviews agrees w/ me about that grill.
AirCar it is, we have a 2016 ES 300h, and a hybrid Avalon. The engine are both the exact same, even the Prius has a similar engine as the Lexus. It’s just the Lexus tiny changes that make a Lexus a Lexus and a Toyota an Toyota. Lexus is a very silent operating car as well

interior design and material, drivetrain, body size (the ls is about 1 ft longer!). suspension and ride quality are different. well they're two different trims and of course u can look at it from a saving standpoint the avalon is even more comparable to the interior space and cargo space. but hey, the more you pay the more you get

Ls engine is waaaay more powerful and es has no reclining back seats. I owned both ls is worth the extra especially in used market.
