Kate Bush always gave me a metal vibe. It's not metal of course. But it has a certain vibe around it, which I can't quite explain.

Ya, really, this was only OK. It REALLY needed Hanna B for that chorus as the song loses its emotional power now that the scene with Max is permanently tied to the chorus.

I didn't watch the show either but the editing and cinematography on that one scene were god-tier. They mixed it with the retro synth intro and just knocked it out of the park. Somewhere out there is an editing team that's got a very bright future.

This song was always my favorite go to 80s pop synth song and when they played it in Stranger Things I got super chills. I just loved it.. but then everyone and their uncle was using the song for their clips in instagram so it started to become super over used. Same with the ABBA Gimme song.. so over played. But hearing a metal versions of it now though is SO nice. Really great job! Metal makes any genre of music better \m/

That was the version used in Warehouse 13. Yes, awesome cover.
I'd forgotten about Placebo's cover, but now that I remember it, I have to say Leo's is better.
Theirs wasn't bad, and certainly a quality tribute... but their lead singer put a whiny spin on it that I couldn't ignore. Their instrumentation was great, but his style of singing precluded the vocals from having the same brand of soulful power that started in Kate's toes, gaining power as it rose through her body until it exited her mouth with a powerfully piercing belt that you felt as much as you heard.
I'd have to say Leo at least nailed the power here, as he usually does, and I'm happy about that!

Frog leap sutdios: when amazingness becomes routine....
Took the words right outta my mouth. Heard a few tracks and found it way cool, but it became boring quite quickly. Take a popular song, play the chords with heavy distortion and yell the lyrics at the top of your lungs. Add a random shred guitar solo that has no musical connection to the song itself and off you go.
At least Leo makes the best of the concept and squeezes it out to the last drop. Works fine for him, judging from the house, studio, equipment etc. Well done, good Sir!

I always like your covers, thanks! This time, I have found another version that I like more, though. I will not post the URL but you can check Anthony Vincent's take on "Running Up That Hill" in the style of "Master of Puppets". That's what I would call a Stranger Things double-take :) Leo, you will always amaze me with the quality of your playing, recording, mixing, and even singing ;)... Please keep it up! And sorry for comparing, I just wanted to share,
I'm not sure which of the two versions I prefer. This one is a straight-up metal version of the original; AV's version is good but sounds completely different because of the MoP style. Either way, they are the best Kate Bush covers I've heard since Mr Floppy's "Wuthering Heights". It's the only way I can stand listening to a Kate Bush song.🤟

Kinda brave to re-enact the video with your daughter, seeing that the original was explained by Kate Bush to be about a man and a woman in a relationship not wanting to hurt another. Thing is you turned it into father and daughter getting through life together, or something along those lines. It has the same roots, not understanding every decision the other has, every hidden feeling that might lead to said decision. Wanting to see through the others eyes so one can "see how it feels". In that sense, you didn't only add to the musical palette with your usual metallification, but also to the lyrical meaning.
