You’re amazing Meg!! 💓 merry christmas ✨
Thanks for the song.
Thanks for the song, Meg! ❤️
Love it!
"you won't be unhappy" sounds amazing

That’s awesome, Joshua. Which one was yours?
The whole thing looks amazing! You and all the colorers should be proud of yourselves.
You should be proud that you helped make this piece of art! Nice job, Joshua! 👍🏼
I really liked that. The art work was great and creative

I'm not gonna lie, Meg Myers voice is perfect for 80s style of music. Her voice is so powerful
That's why it reminds me of the music years 80s and 90s. Epic!!

Honestly one of the best covers I’ve ever heard but also one of the interesting concepts for a music video. Love it!

It's really not the best cover for the song lmfao
yeah it's good, but the one from placebo is good as well. But nothing better than the original of course :)

It makes me fking cry every time I watch this. Hundreds of endless universes, whole lives. Unicolored, multicolored, with extra details like dots, figures, animals, names, all so different but equally beautiful and deep. Colour of Everything.

With the original getting so much radio play now thanks to Stranger Things, I hope people don't forget how outstanding this cover is. Meg's voice is so rich, the instrumentation is so powerful, and even the video was made in such a lovely way. I honestly prefer this version.
I agree, amazing rendition.
Love that she kept that 80’s synth goodness 😊
I wonder if the “Myers” tombstone in front of Max in the upside-down is in reference to this?
i feel like this cover pushed it to being popular enough for stranger things to focus on the bush version
@@moshjoshpitchief4418 I totally agree.
... with enormous respect for Kate Bush, I can, personally, say that I find Meg's cover to be a masterpiece... that both carries-on and improves upon the genuine piece-of-art that was the original. It's hard to imagine that this song could have become any more powerful. Yet... that is the indescribable impact of Meg's voice and personality.

Heard this song when my son was hooked up to breathing machines and we were praying for his life. Thank goodness he survived! But hearing it a few years later still gives me tears because it gave me strength when my entire world was falling apart. One of the best covers of a song!
Vecna was trying to get him, you saved him with this song.
Other artists have covered Kate's music before - but they didn't own their version. They were just going through the motions of singing a song they didn't really feel. Ms Myers OWNED this. She put her heart and soul into using her vision to make this ROCK! Also have to thank her for helping me rediscover Kate. After 1985 she fell off the map - for me - for 34 years.
I have yet to see anything Meg does not own. I looks like she pours herself in, and then pours it all out so we can feel what she felt. Kinda beautiful, scary beautiful.
Now THIS is a cover. I've loved this song for decades, and this is by far one of the best covers. You got the emotion, the frustration, the passion. I'm absolutely moved. Beautiful!
Perfectly said. Thanks Meg!

This track has been covered a quazillion times, but this version has some bad ass thickness to it and Meg's voice (tuned and all) is fn awesome.
I like the placebo version as well Meg's good too
the drums hit hardest on this one
Iv never heard this song before
It was as if Linda Perry herself covered the song. Great vocals!
the chromatics cover is the best by far
Meg, words can't describe the justice and beauty you did for the original song. Thank you for helping introduce Kate Bush to a new young audience.
Reminds us of the original, different and unique in its own way.
Don't worry they'll be back to ball slapping that dangling thing in the back of cardi b's throat soon enough
Yep when I saw stranger things S4 and heard Kates version I was like - wait - I used to play Megs version on repeat on my way to work couple years back. I did a double take and realized Megs version was not Kates. Im not trying to compare either versions they are both good. However, Megs voice has something magical and when I first hear her cover 😍 I was in love! She revamped and gave this song character and life. And to he honest, I thought it was her song originally I had no clue. Only because discovered this song playing on our local radio station I fell in love with Megs music. She is very talented 👏 😍 ❤
Pictures in colorful crayons can describe.we have some talented young generation of art artists!beautiful video!
@loudnsounds - Hardly. This sounds canned. Kate Bush was well ahead of her time. This version is one of the worst copies of Bush's song. You can literally hear how it was produced, and the singing sounds strained.
Meg Myers deserves an Oscar for such a performance! 👏🎬
Her voice is just so perfect for this song
I have no clue who Meg Myers is, but I love that she has a voice that really fits the energy Kate Bush had in the original.
I strongly recommend giving Meg's other music a listen 👍
@@bd007h I'll second this suggestion. Even if her music isn't your style, you'll see that she's truly an inspired artist.

The Duffer brothers are the creators of Stranger Things series lol
I remember finding this song 4+ years ago when it only had a few hundred thousand views. So happy that it blew up and other people get to hear it now!
It feels a lot like Kate Bush’s version is post-grief. Whereas they’d accepted the situation, this version feels raw. Denial, anger, bargaining… it’s all there.

This is not a mere cover, or update. It is an honest tribute from the one artist to the original. I was a fan of Kate Bush in the first run and this is just...amazing. Not a cover, not an update, not just a tribute. This is Adoration.
Nicely put.
Well said! I’m embarrassed to admit I only knew the Placebo version and loved it, but already see how much better the song can be, now I have to listen to the original. Gonna be hard to top this, though
I disagree.....I was about to get into this chicks music. If you seen me an hour ago I found her today , watched desire and one of her other tracks. I still blast Kate Bush all day long, and I grew up listening to her when she was topping charts all over Europe.
Wait, so you're saying Kate Bush did a cover of this Meg Meyers song? ;)
@@ksaavedra_Immortalbelovedmusic No she didnt said that ;)
I think everyone is forgetting Placebo’s cover of this song which is the version that received the most attention and brought the song to fame, at least for those of us who grew up in the second half of the 90’s to the early 2000’s.
Placebo’s version has a melancholic darkness to it that has never lost its shine over the years. This version, whilst lighter, has a different style to it that remixes both the lighter aspects of Kate Bush’s original and some touches of the darker aspects of Placebo’s version, creating this kind of 80’s synth girl rock pop aesthetic that drives this version.
I think Placebo and Meg Kelly’s versions are the best. Kate Bush’s original hasn’t aged as well as some might think whilst other covers have either not tried anything new or sound terrible. Placebo is good for the entire modern reworking of the song for a new generation whilst this version carries the spirit of Kate Bush with it but updates it considerably.
Personally, I’d take this version as the Kate Bush original and Placebo’s as the cover, if you convert them through a modern mindset.
There's a single frame in there where she has cat whiskers, brilliant. Kids are amazing.
I'm wondering if Meg herself colored that scene. She did color a few alongside the kids.
There's also multiple pages of cats in space suits, including one page that actually says Cat Wars and cats battling in space.
And I want to shake Tom's hand for putting his name in there. Good job.
@@modusponen1447 but who is Tom?
Tom is someone who wrote his name on the frame near 3:18
Nothing against Kate Bush, however I definitely prefer this version more. I can't get over how mesmerizing Meg Myers voice is in this. There just feels like a bit more energy to it. One of the best covers of all time.
normally when I find a cover, I'd look for the original song and listen to it too. And then most times I will prefer the original. But when this cover came out and I heard it for the first time I just accept it as my original. I listened to Kate's original version recently, love her voice and come back to this. Meg's version just hits different.
Depend the original is a bit sharper but I learn this tone more I guess
💯
My personal opinion. Meg is a far more talented vocalist and like you, I prefer this version over the original.

10 million views is underrated??
@@hysteria008 compared to others, yes. and 10 millon isen't that big as others.
@@RealBoredPerson And compared to others, 10 millions views is huge!
not really
Don't be so harsh. People often confuse "underrated" with "underappreciated". It's just semantics.
Favorite version of this song, it's wild that it was on the radio for as long as it was and people act like it didn't even happen. When I heard Kate Bush's remastered pop on the other day I was caught off guard, I love the energy in this one. It fills me with more emotion than the original
This is the demonstration of when the cover beats the original. Excellent version of Meg Myers!
No.
my brother passed away from cancer last June, i always listen to this song and feel so guilty. i think about swapping places. i wonder if i'd have the guts to actually do it. he was the strongest person i've ever known. i'd like to think i would swap places with him any day, he was so happy, he had a daughter and a wife, he had so much more to live for.
You would swap places because you love him so much, but his time was up and he had accomplished what he was set here to do and your journey still has things to be done.
I can feel the pain in your comments but the love and happy memories of your brother will help soothe that pain in time.
Im so sorry about your loss, I hope you find peace and comfort
Best wishes for you and your family. So sorry for your loss
Im so sorry for your loss my condolences
😭
I heard this on the radio today. I am a huge Kate Bush fan.. I love this cover. She did an amazing job. I am an instant fan.
Its not too bad. I was surprised that someone could pull off a cover of a classic Kate song.
@@lawrencedavis5459 I agree. Placebo did a cover a few years ago, I like this one a lot better. Kate's original will always be my favourite though.
same!
Same here! Was at a military accessory store in Burbank, CA when it came on. I recognized the drum intro immediately, was so amazed here I am.
Why isnt this video on MTV?
Whoever told Meyers to cover this song deserves a fucking medal. My new favorite song, she brings such POWER. I listen to it over and over and over.
This is the most creative video I've seen - there is so much color and symbolism, magnificent vibes resonating at every seam bursting with emotion! Love it! Can listen to Meg's rendition on repeat, repeating-ever. - a🌻🌵☀
Listening to your cover of "Running Up That Hill" for the past 3+ months since it's been released have been nothing short of an amazing experience for me and now that this awesome video is here, it just deepens and intensifies my love for this song! Meg, your explanation of what this video represents is so beautiful and I hope that we can all use this amazing work of art to make positive and healthy changes in our own lives and in others. You have done an incredible job staying true to Kate's original and yet you made your cover stand out with your unbelievable energy, enthusiasm, creativity, and passion! Add the fact that you shared your vision with the wonderfully talented, young, up and coming artists at H.O.L.A., just made this even better! I'm so proud of you, Meg!
Edwin S : 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 well said!!
Cheers
If you love this one... Listen to Placebo.. Running up that hill❤
This is really beautifully put! ❤️
King C.O.D : I like their version too. But this one just blows me away!! I was 16 when Kate’s original came out and I loved it immediately! It is very rare for a cover to be better than the original! For me this one is!!
Cheers
Kristi McGowan/ Darko’s Cellar Door I completely agree with you about Placebo's cover - it's good and I personally think that Meg's version is worlds better as well. She has the energy and soul that really brings this song alive. I've listened to many covers of 'RUTH' and have yet to find one that gets the heart stirring like Meg's cover does.
Shoutout to the kid who wrote “THE END” on the last frame
Hello “(of the rainbow)”
Fantastic version of the song.
omg the drums' presence in this cover... I'm in heaven
This is just SUCH a fucking banger.
I really think if Kate were to see this, she would be so impressed and would love it. Not only for the work with the children and the unique and original concept, but by your ideas and full on enjoyment of what you were singing and doing. I loved you before but this just takes it over the top. :) You are awesome.
Someone show this to her!
I am sure she gets to see stuff ;)

Meg is an absolute genius 🎉
in terms of covers for an original, this one nailed it.
This cover is so good, you could convince me that it was Meg Myer's original song. The depth, the rawness, the evocation of the emotions... It blows me away. It gives this song a whole new character. Amazing.
She just copied a classic.
@@TonyMontanaDS it’s called a cover
@Luke umm no , it’s good don’t get me wrong, but she is no Kate bush, and the original is better in my opinion
All her other songs are gobbledygook emotional mush and don’t even sound like this. Music is a product
It doesn't give it anything new. Fantastic cover, amazing video, but it's very on the nose, more of a copy than a cover. Even the vocal intonations sounds similar.
