Nice presentation style, and content. For my home purposes though I'm still using Office 2007. It's paid for, and does everything I need. I know newer versions have evolved, but honestly I think the average user would be perfectly happy with Office 97. Most people just don't need anything beyond the basics. I'll probably use what I have until the day comes where it won't install on whatever version of Windows we are up to at that point, and then I'll probably just use Libre office. I have nothing against MS making money, but I'm happy with what I have. The rest is just fluff.
This is awesome that you are sharing this because I see a lot of people wanting to use the office suite or even excited to try it out for free and this allows so many people that opportunity. This was NOT clickbait. It was very useful for me, so THANK YOU, Kevin. I upgraded from iPad Mini 2 to iPad 8th gen, and as expected, I could no longer edit Excel sheets using the Excel app, as I don't have an Office 365 subscription. It was possible on the iPad Mini 2, because MS allows it for devices with screens less than 10.1 in. Anyway, I was already looking for alternatives that could edit my Excel files and sync to OneDrive (couldn't find one), but thanks to this video, I discovered Office web apps! Hurray 🙂 They work great for my needs.
I will you tell you what, Microsoft Word on the web (the free version) is so much better than Google Docs. Docs is so feature-poor, it doesn't even have a 1/20 of the features that are in Word online.

Office 365 Home is the best option and it is very cheap like you said. Me and 5 other friends have it but it is a lot cheaper than what you mentioned. The monthly price is 7.99 so for one year it is 95.88. But we always pay for one year and they offer a 16% discount if we pay it upfront. So it comes at $80.53. So it's just $13.42 per person per year. And like you said for the services, features it offers it is a bargain!!! I've even cancelled my $35.88 Google Drive 200GB plan in favour of Office 365 as they offer 1TB. Killer deal!!

Your video doesn't mention that when installing Office from Office 365, you MUST have the correct license for this. You can't just click on "Install Office" and expect Office to be there right away. I work in IT and I had to explain this twice to my boss.
Hello Kevin. I opened the Microsoft office app on my PC and created an account. It worked fine at first, but now every time when I want to use Excel it opens an older version of Excel. What do you suggest I do ?
I was actually contracted to an aerospace corporation that was using the google apps suite... "Can" you do everything there that you can in MSoft Office, yes... The product borders on free for a corporation if you pay for their professional email/storage package... I would rather pay for my storage and use an office type of suite... When I would work on docs or spreadsheets for them I would create in office and then import to google suite. I agree with other comments here, Google could garner a lot more customers if their app suite was better.
Ways of getting it for free is really complicated and quite hard. The only solution for person who is neither a student nor workman currently is to purchase office.... But to the man on screen, thanks for edifying.

If your company has a volume license agreement with Microsoft they also most likely have a program called "Home Use Program" (aka HUP). With HUP you'll get a discount on Office 365 (or Microsoft 365 as it is now known as).
This was very helpful and very clear. I work with retired people who still want to use apps and other products, but who do not want to pay monthly subscription fees. Being able to get some products for free is great for people on fixed incomes.
I miss those days when you can get lifetime license for Adobe and Microsoft. But from business perception subscription model is more profitable. I have student account on my windows but also use libre in Linux too and I some time miss office features and design of office 365. Proprietary software on this level can't be compared to open source even though it's expensive.

If you're getting Office as a student, it's not "free"--your tuition and taxes pay for the license that schools buy. If you're getting Office from your employer, it's not "free," your employer is paying MS for licenses instead of using a cheaper or free option or giving employees a discount if they've got their own version of Office already installed on their own device. As for the online version--that's crippleware that doesn't function like the installed apps, so it's free like a puppy is free: you still have to find workarounds for all the limitations of the software or you have to pay the sub. And getting older software at a reduced price -- that ain't free. Horribly misleading video.
You forgot to add one thing after opening office(dot)com on the top right corner below the close button (red cross) Click on the three dots --> Apps -----> Install office/ Install this site as an app After that new window will open then press F11 for full screen and that will give you the best MS Office experience

You can get an Office plugin app for your Chrome or Chromium-based browser. Seems to be free, does everything I need except associating files. It may even do that, I'll have to dig into it.

Can the online Office and Android apps be used to read, edit and print older historical documents/files that were originally created in Word and Excel on a Windows 95 or XP PC 20+ years ago 😱?

Kevin, I am considering what to do since my oft used Excel and Word are no longer going to be supported. I dont care for the Onedrive option as my internet access is intermittent. At the end of the day I just want supported Excel, Word and possibly Onenote on my PC. Would you suggest an option? Thanks. PS I enjoy many of your tutorials.
