The guys saying "bro just do cardio" have no idea what they are talking about. Cardiovascular excercise is areobic exercise, involving oxygen to create ATP (energy). Lifting weights is mainly anaerobic, so without the use of oxygen to create ATP. Also it takes the cardiovascular system around 2 minutes to be up to speed to match increased activity. By that time your set will already be done and if your exertion is high enough you will be panting regardless of how good your condioning is.

Thanks to this guy I recently LOWERED the weight I was doing, the weight is irrelevant if the goal is to look good. I've been feeling my muscles contract and work way harder doing lighter weight, and I'm expereicning way less injury like pain in places like my elbows. It's because when you lift heavy weight you're putting your entire body into it instead of just working that specific muscle which means the rest of your body is compensating to lift the weight. Glad I figured this out sooner rather than another year

I HIGHLY doubt the dude is using fake weights, however, even if he were, there's no need to use real weights when the entire point of your video is demonstrate form and posture correctly. He's not trying to get swoll up right there on the camera for everyone to see, he's trying to teach people how to not injure themselves and stay in the gym for the long-run. You do that by NOT taking risks, NOT intentionally doing things which don't need to be done, and leaving your ego at the door.
@@clowntrainingacademy4508As his comment mentioned: we doubt he’s using fake weights. Just because someone isn’t jacked or heavy, doesn’t mean they’re fake.
You’re not understanding what he’s saying. He’s referring to the way Jeff is handling the dumbbells to pick them up to get into the proper position to the press. You just can’t move 90lbs dumbbells like that.
@@IPatricio this what I’m saying. Think about picking up 180lbs leaned over, sitting down basically and moving it up without having to readjust your position when you probably weigh what you are lifting. The physics of that doesn’t make sense.
I’ve been training for a good few years now and even if I decide to take a month off or so from the gym I can press 70’s no problem and eventually work my way up again to press 90’s so I do believe Jeff can press that no problem because of how consistent he is.
165 here and I can bang out 90s. I think you have just been using light weight and high reps. Size doesn't make you stronger than smaller people. Obviously more bodyweight gives you more mas to be able to move more mass. I just think you are slightly weak for your size
@@ryanc9728 Jeff did happen to move that dumbbell fairly quickly compared to this guy, if at the end of that day if it is actually 90 pounds then cool, unfortunately we won’t know.
How long are you going to keep this video up? Don't you have any other material? I see this on my feed like twice a month. You should dona reaction to his other videos too.
So the general consensus here is. You believe Athlean X is using real weights here. If that's really what you're saying I need you to consider how physics works Athlean x weighs about 185 pounds. Even if he was lifting half of that weight and could easily lift it his body would have to offset the weight just to stay balanced but that's not the case in this video look at the way he picks up the first weight (furthest from the camera) he leans forward and doesn't even have to compensate.
@Dima Knopf I've done the same thing with dumbbells that weigh near my total weight and haven't fallen forward because of picking them up. There is no law written where one has to be large to be strong. Case in point: Bruce Lee was known to take a barbell with approximately half his bodyweight and extend it straight out from his shoulders and hold it there.

Someone's ego is hurt here. You don't have to be the tallest in the gym to be strong. Bodybuilders are not necessarily weightlifters or very strong. I consider myself a gym goer and I am neither a bodybuilder nor a professional strength athlete and my bmi is not right either. I just work on my health, do cardio and strength training. And I love it since I was 17 years old. I am almost 50 years old and I used 110 lbs (50 kg) dumbbells to bench a few years ago. Now I don't really go to the extreme, but 90lbs (40kg) still works well for an 8 reps. Why would jeff's dumbbells be fake?
Same here, I can easily carry the 95s to the bench and do a few reps I don’t see how the 90s for Jeff are fake considering that Jeff has 20 years more experience than me as far as going to the gym goes lol This guy probably thinks benching 315 is impossible and that a 405 deadlift is very respectable 😂, I’m Surprised he’s filled with roids but can barely lift 90 pounds without his breath going crazy
Is cause big guys like him feel discredited when a smaller dude can do what they do... Seen it my whole life being a skinny guy and lifting 200lb objects better than the bigger guys - hell the fat guy at work who almost 300lb goes flying with a small shove from my shoulder - always gets shocked at the force/power lol I’m only 148 after bulking huge a few years ago but lost all the work after going lazy, got back at it now and loving the muscle memory, but yeah even without getting back to workouts at work I easy lift and maneuver 60-70lb parts with one arm/hand while all the so called men or younger guys at my job barely lift... team work on 70lb packages ahha Basically big guys feel less if a smaller dude can do the same - it’s why they don’t like white boys rapping harder, their whole fake flex and persona will look weak so they discredit them
They are, it doesn’t matter how dense your muscles are, unless you’re fucking 8 feet tall and have the appropriate amount of muscle mass and strength somebody that height should have, lifting 40KG dumbbells will cause you to be out of breath. Jeff Cavaliere is undoubtedly strong, very strong, he’s worked incredibly hard to become as strong as he is, you can only get to be as muscular and strong as he is after decades of consistent training. But lifting that much weight will be a challenging struggle for almost everybody on Earth, and even for the very few people who don’t find it difficult to lift that, they’ll almost certainly still have a way tougher time breathing than Jeff does, it can take multiple MINUTES to catch your breath after a set with that much weight, and talking during the set is really difficult, every bit of oxygen is vital.

That’s on you foolio, cardio is like lifting but for your heart. You should try it.

@Dima Knopf I've done the same thing with dumbbells that weigh near my total weight and haven't fallen forward because of picking them up.
Agreed. Look at Anatoly. I watch what he lifts and think "how in the world is he doing that?".
What gives it away is the second one that he lifts with his left hand, it goes up with zero effort. Definitely not 90s
@@arthurfleck629 Bro said "If you have muscle mass and strength then you can do it" clown how you know how strong jeff is? you his personal maid or something?
roids
That's called real strength, not airfilled bodyparts.
JID been hittin the gym!
Lmao so Underrated 😂😂😂

I love how he just talked while gassed still, point proven. This dudes muscles are fuckin nuts!
Bruh I’m like 150lbs 5’3😭how do we have the same reactuon when lifting 90lbs
Yeh he definitely exaggerating on those huffs and puffs
What if he doesn’t know he’s using fake weights ? *x files theme starts playing*
Hard to say, but i seen in the gym multiple times where a guy is probably 180-190 lbs and he was doing strict curls some people have a freak strength
The problem is not how ez he Press the 90 lbs but how He Grab it off the ground soo effortlessly. That’s the problem. There’s no way he can Lift 90 POUNDS of the Ground with one Hand!
@@OXNY02 why? I’m sure he can deadlift 180 with 2 hands EASILY. Plenty of dudes deadlift 405 for reps, and for them, pulling 90s of the ground is pretty casual once your warm
@@OXNY02 bro I’m 165 deadlifting 400 picking up 90lbs with one hand is not hard at all. Especially for a guy who’s as consistent in the gym as he is and who’s probably on roids
@@malaki4519 Jeff isn't on Roids
I have seen 15 year olds push 100lbs dumbells
“Trolls could be killing ur gains”
Athlean x
Idk about 90 but I use to use 75’s when I was only 160lbs and I seen guys half my size lift double me. I say this is 100% real!
Then why'd he unnecessarily cut the part where he actually sets the weights down? I was waiting for that part to hear the loud thump and confirm the weight was real. What is the reason Jeff has for cutting that part of the video specifically? It obviously wasn't to save time, because the original video is short as fuck anyway.
Dude theres a massive difference from 90 ad 75 lol
It’s about how he picked them up he basically just curled 90’s
It almost floated to the ceiling thank god jeff grabbed it in time 🙏
You made that more dramatic than it needed to be 😂
Exactly
Nah I think the comments have done that I didn’t give a shit if it was real or fake to begin with but somehow I ended up getting stuck here
So you’re saying he’s stronger than you lmao
No hes saying hes using fake weights. Your welcome Santiago
Athlete X is just a professional trainer wym 😂 who knows
“Fake weights could be killing your gains”
Breathing could be killing your gains
It does look like he picked the weights off the floor pretty easily, but in college I was 175 lbs and could do an inclined dumbell press with 85’s pretty easily.
“Look at how easy hes moving the weight” hes literally struggling
look at how he picks them up though, if it was real weights he would've been a lot more careful with it, but look at how careless he places them on his thighs. He was pretending when doing the reps, anyone can flex their muscles and lift their arms up and down.
Just because you can't, doesn't mean others can't. I was 195lbs at 6'2"and was lifting 105lbs dumbbells the same way to do bench presses. Get real. Fake weights my arse.
he does use fake weights tho
