The song is an old southern hymn. It's about someone dying and going to heaven. It's over 100 years old. Glad you like it. The Hound and Fox are more of a folk music type. They are a married couple. ❤
Chance’s voice captivates me. He brings you in instantly. Haunting and comforting at the same time. Try “Cover Me Up” to hear more of Chance. It’s gorgeous. Plus there’s a surprise at the end afterwards. Thanks for reacting to this one!
Home Free feat Don McLean "American Pie" (50th Anniversary) if you want to hear Austin, Rob, Chance and Tim all take solos, Adam Rupp go absolutely crazy and of course the legend Don McLean.
This music world has numerous connections. Adam Chance has another song with the Hound and the Fox which is A Whistling Lad. Tim has sang a great version of We Three Kings with them.. The Hound and the Fox produced Home Free's video of Thinking Out Loud/Let's Get It On. They performed in the video as the young couple. The video was done in one continuous shot after many attempts. They had to start over if there was a mistake. Tim at the beginning of the video makes a very distinctive sound which he originally did as a joke. It was so good that it was kept in the video. Now Tim regrets it because he has to reproduce in live performances of the medley. The Hound and the Fox with their very young son can also be seen in a cameo in Home Free's video of Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer. In the video are also Darren Rust, Home Free's producer, Rob's Grandmother, and Tim's close friend (can't remember his name sorry) who introduced Tim to the girl who became Tim's wife. The amazing thing was that The Hound and the Fox 's tiny son claps in time to Home Free so musical talent probably runs in the next generation of the family.
YES YES YES !!!!!!! This song haunts my Dreams and I must get up go directly to you tube and happily watch it again. It's just soooooo dang good. Love the story and can picture it in my head.
Reilly and McKenzie Zamber are incredible musicians (and even better people)! Their typical genre is folk music, but with a mystical/magical vibe - they are insanely good! All these amazing people know each other from their historical associations with a Capella music. Reilly and McKenzie did production for Peter Hollens for a while. And in this biz, if you know Peter, you know everyone! Haha Not surprising that Home Free, The Hound + The Fox, PTX, Malinda Reese, Bailey Pelkman, Whitney Avalon, The Bass Gang, Peter Hollens, VoicePlay, Voctave, and many more, all know each other, support each other, and many of them are close friends. What an UNBELIEVABLE community! Thank you for your heartfelt reactions. You're just getting started, my friend... 😃
Check out Adam Chance - "If I Could Only Fly", and, "Running Up That Hill" from The Hound and The Fox. My fave from these three is "A Whistling Lad" Thank you for an entertaining reaction😊
The Hound and the Fox remind me of the folk rock groups from the 70s. They have very ethereal voices that work so well together. They have done several more collabs with Adam and at least 2 with Tim Foust, including one with his wife Jenika. Their Sound of Silence is great. They have a version of My Mother Told Me that was a real surprise. And they have a cover of Johnny Cash's Hurt that is quite beautiful. And their original The Whistling Lad is absolutely heartwrenching. Have fun.
I was so hoping you would see my request for this . Adam Chance and Hound and the Fox are an amazing trio. Besides this check out Sound Of Silence and Whistling Ladd. I'm do excited for this one!!!!
The Fox, reminds me so much of the great & legendary Emmylou Harris.....I think you need more Chance, and the Home Free cover of Finally Free is just the ticket....you'll fall for him, just a warning :) He's a good-looking lad for sure. Chance & the Hound + Fox have several amazing covers they have done...you know about the Sound of Silence, but their cover of the Wellerman on the beach in Oregon is such a stunning background & also the 3 of them collab on a cover of 9-inch-nails "Hurt"....it's amazing....but remember to have heart meds when Chance sings to you on Finally Free
Funny you should comment on the Fox, McKenzie, looking like a vampire here - they have a great line in slightly spooky folk music, and released an album of their Halloween songs last year. Look for their originals, Rot Next to You and Thirsty...
As you saw, they all turn around at the end of the song. That’s because they immediately filmed another one for the Hound+Fox channel. They released them about 15 minutes apart. Chance has a few solo songs on his channel-my favorite is Drivers License.
Home Free Videos : Directed, filmed, edited by Reilly Zamber, McKenzie Zamber, and Jimmy Bates for FifGen Films (they also worked with PTX too) HF encouraged The Hound and Fox Reilly and McKenzie to put out there own stuff more . Chance and Tim do a lot with them.
My wife says Chance could sing the phonebook, and she'd buy it. Reilly(The Hound) is also the person producing Chance's upcoming solo album. And to follow up someone else's suggestion, yes, you need to listen to Helplessly Hoping!
Haha you guys more than made up for it with your amazing voices and this incredible song ❤️ thanks so much for your comment! I can't wait to hear more and more of your stuff!
The song is a Hymn that, so easily, slides into the FOLK sound. It is, ABSOLUTELY, not Country or Blue Grass, yet could be done as either with the rite arrangement. Adam’s Emerald Green, velvet voice is perfect for this. Chance seems to favor the Folk sound in his singles (heaven to me!), yet he can blend his talent to almost anything.
The Hound & Fox also appeared as the couple in Home Free's video "Thinking Out Loud/Let's Get It On". Chance has a few videos with them (including "Sounds of Silence"). If memory serves Chance was in a trio with them (I think he was Wolf, but I'm not sure). Chance was also in the band "Street Corner Symphonies". Chance's song "The Man Who Can't Forget" (on his channel) is haunting & evocative. Wayfaring Stranger is such a beautiful, sad hymn so beautifully sung. Thanks for playing this & your comments.
I really enjoy "The Hound & The Fox's music. They've done a lot of collaborations with different members of Home Free & other artists. Their voices really suit the older folk style of songs & Chance blends well with them. This is a very old song that has been covered by many famous artists such as Burl Ives, Emmylou Harris & Johnny Cash.
They also did a song called "Hurt" together also (which you should check out) and Tim has also done a couple with The Hound and Fox. Home Free knows them well and Riley (Hound) and McKenzie (Fox) has also been in a couple of Home Free videos as well.
The "shiver factor" with this song is over the top. Breath taking is exactly the word. The three of them sound phenomenal together. Chance is highlighted in a lot of Home Free songs. You just haven't gotten there yet. You will. Great reaction!
The Hound + Fox (not to be confused with the Fox and the Hound) have been part of the peripheral Home Free family for years, and have put out some truly beautiful works on their own. They've collaborated with our boys on many occasions, and have a rich channel all their own. So glad you're going Wayfaring! Will try to get back this evening to see you go at it live!
Together with videographer Jimmy Bates, they are the video production company Fifgen. They produced most of Home Free's early videos and Jimmy Bates still works with them (eg directed the video for Brother).
There is a talent ecosphere that surrounds Home Free Darren Rust and the entire organization after a while you will remember seeing many of them in their videos.
When you react to Sound of Silence, take note that they turned around at the end of this video, then recorded Sound of Silence facing the other direction.
This is gonna be my 3rd time trying to type this....please, DJ, do yourself a favour and listen to Chance's cover of Oo de lally from Disney's Robin Hood. Very short and it is just Chance, his guitar and the Redwood forest. Simple and perfect. And, since I now can actually afford it, patreon membership coming very shortly! Thanks again for being my very bright spot.🥰
I happened upon Chance singing Oo da Lally quite by accident, it just appeared in my recommendations one day…I absolutely love it! Wish it was longer, but I’ll take what I can get lol
The word you’re looking for is ‘folk’. This old hymn has been done by many artists, most notably Burl Ives and Johnny Cash. Chance with the Hound and Fox have done a beautiful job with a classic southern hymn. The minimal instrumentality puts weight and emphasis on the gorgeous voices and haunting lyrics. The Hound and the Fox (Riley and Mackenzie) appear in Home Free’s video of Grandma got Run Over by a Reindeer.
Chance's voice is like warm caramel with a touch of bourbon. There are songs with Home Free that feature him more. And yes, there are a lot of good looking lads. Great reaction.
This is really amazing. Adam Chance who has the perfect voice for this.( smooth and sexy voice) That in combination with The Hound & The Fox just sounds magnificent. I like it better than the original. But yes the collaboration between them is always great, just like The Sound Of Silence.
These three together are absolutely stunning.. their voices are so angelic.. Mr Adam Chance my my my you can just do it all. I absolutely love your voice and everything about you.. Beautiful ❤️❤️❤️❤️ and as for you I absolutely adore your reactions you are just so super cute..
Wonderful! You might also like when the Three of them did Whistling Lad. Our boy Chance can have a mournful side. He just released Far from any Road. It’s worth the listen.
The Hound and Fox are husband and wife. They are friends with all of Home Free. I am not sure who they met first, they have been in a few of their videos. The harmonies that the three of them accomplish are incredible and chill creating in their ability. WOW!!! I would say you could listen to them to chill out and focus, then get energized to go on with your day. If you want someone to listen to that is just a voice, try Iam Tongi from American Idol. He is blowing everybody's minds this season with his raw talent.
So, Adam Chance and McKenzie & Reilly (Fox + Hound) recorded TWO videos that same day, at the same location. One's on Adam's channel and the other is on theirs. So you should react to it soon so you can get THEM in the forefront and Adam as background. It's The Sound of Silence and OMG.
The genre you’re trying to think of is Folk Music. A famous American folk group is Peter, Paul & Mary. I’m not sure what other countries had a similar style.
For more Adam Chance see Home Free's Yours, Some Girls Do, and Brother. The general category this kind of song falls in is probably "Folk Music". In his early days Paul Simon was a folk singer so Sound of Silence is a folk song of a sort. Folk music can cover many other styles including Blue Grass, some Southern Gospel, Sea Shanties, Irish and various ethnic musics, etc. Generally it is acoustic with simple, clean vocals.
For more of Chance, try Some Girls Do, Cover Me Up, and I Can't Outrun You. I love his voice, but then again, how can you not love every one of the Home Free guys?! ❤
I knew you'd flip at this. Three must-listen HF songs where Chance has a solo: Blue Ain't Your Color, In the Blood, Colder Weather. (There are many, but these 3 are incredible all around, with great solos by the other guys.)
I always say Chance has a voice like smooth whiskey. Hound & the fox/ Home Free have a long history. They were Home Free's video producers for a few years after the sing off. Watch HF video Thinking Out Loud/ Lets Get it On. Lots of surprises besides the first date couple being Hound+the Fox. They decided to strike out musically on their own and Jimmy, the cameraman, took over the video business and still does lots of the Home Free video's Jimmy did most of the lockdown video editing.
It's used in The Last of Us P2... that's where you recognize it from. 😉 Don't you love when a song transports you? ❤ Your reaction to it was delightful... as always. (Folk is the word you're looking for. The genre is folk... 😊)
This version of this song is so so pretty...wow...I love it 💗💚 Watching you vibe to this song and enjoy this makes me enjoy it more...you really do make me enjoy music more... #DJAntlers #HerdMind
Your reactions always crack me up as you are so animated. As for a genre of music, many of us born in the 60s would call this style of music "Folk". The Hound and The Fox and extraordinary music. Great vocals.
Hound + Fox are the romantic couple in Home Free's video of Thinking Out Loud/Let's Get It On. So, you've probably seen them. If not, check out that video. They shot it in one take, and it's awesome.
LOLOL…They’re The Hound & The Fox…not The Fox & The Hound….they’re a married couple…great voices. The two of them have been in several Home Free videos. Oh, Home Free released a new video today…”GIVE ME A SIGN”….the first of a Trilogy….Austin wrote….&, his lovely lady …Amberly is in it….soooooo Kooool 🔥🙃🎶🎵❤️‼️
Reilly and McKenzie Zamber's voices are perfect together and when they add Chance it's just pure magic! This is my favorite version of "Wayfaring Stranger" and their version of "Sound of Silence" has become my go to also. Great reaction DJ - thanks!
I would highly recommend diving into some Hound and the Fox. They are so sweet and so talented. They are just the best in my opinion. Her voice is so well suited for the folksy sound they do. But don't pigeon hole them. I mean, they did "It was Agatha All Along" from the Marvel universe. Not folksy and so perfect!!
I a so glad that you discovered Hound & Fox. They are so overlooked by reactors and I am thankful you gave them a listen. Tim did "We Three Kings" with Hound & Fox a few years ago and it is really good too.
The hound and the fox did an amazing version of "come little children" from the movie hocus-pocus, that'd be a good listen! Also the hound and the fox did the "my mother told me" song and they did the best job in my opinion than anyone else I've heard sing that song! I didn't realize this until now that Adam chance sings with them in that old Viking song!
It was fun watching you react to this one! By far, my favorite version of this song, EVER! Adam Chance does an amazing job, and the addition of The Hound + The Fox is just incredible. They have quite a few songs they have done together. The Hound + The Fox have an album out called Haunted Folk that I play frequently, but continually through the months of September and October. You need to watch/listen to some of those songs. You would love them! Thank you for your lovely reactions. You are always a bright spot in my day!
This is such a beautiful song. If you want to more of The Hound and The Fox. Check out the song they did with Home Free. They did not sing but is was such a beautiful acting job. The song is Ed Sheeren Thinking Out Loud/Let's Get It On by Marvin Gaye which is a Home Free cover. Adam is so awesome as are The Hound & The Fox. Love you reaction!
isn't this wonderful? As Tim used to say, "We thank God he didn't decide to join PTX". H&F were originally FifGen - the production company that filmed HF's videos. Then at some point they started filming their own videos, too. They have a variety of song types for you to enjoy. They have collaborated with Chance, Tim, and (I think) Rob. Just another branch of the Home Free rabbit hole for you to explore. I laughed out loud at your "Piss off!!"
Chance is as smooth as great Irish whiskey!
Home Free feat Don McLean "American Pie" (50th Anniversary) if you want to hear Austin, Rob, Chance and Tim all take solos, Adam Rupp go absolutely crazy and of course the legend Don McLean.

They are an awesome trio. I think Chances voice is smokey, whiskey smooth. These three also did a version of the Wellerman that is great.
This one is absolutely beautiful and haunting!! The Hound and fox are insanely talented. They are part of the Home Free family. Adam is incredible
I strongly recommend The Whistling Lad by The Hound and The Fox ft Chance. It is absolutely gorgeous!
YES!!!
Whistling Lad!
I was going to suggest the same thing! Plus it's an original song, so you get the full range of talent.
The Whistling Lad is an obsession of mine, it's just stunning
YES YES YES !!!!!!! This song haunts my Dreams and I must get up go directly to you tube and happily watch it again. It's just soooooo dang good. Love the story and can picture it in my head.
Now you must give A Whistling Lad a listen!

And for Marvel fans out there, they did a perfect little cover of "Agatha All Along" ! They are yet another act that can do just about anything!
Yes! You get it.
I was so hoping you would see my request for this . Adam Chance and Hound and the Fox are an amazing trio. Besides this check out Sound Of Silence and Whistling Ladd. I'm do excited for this one!!!!
I was going to suggest Sound of Silence too 👍🏻🇧🇷
But now you need to hear Chance take the lead with Home Free. I Can't Outrun You.
Also I enjoyed him in "Born In The USA".
The Fox, reminds me so much of the great & legendary Emmylou Harris.....I think you need more Chance, and the Home Free cover of Finally Free is just the ticket....you'll fall for him, just a warning :) He's a good-looking lad for sure. If you watched HF's video mashup of Thinking Out Loud/Lets Get It On, Hound & Fox play a couple on their first date. Its so cute...
Home Free Videos : Directed, filmed, edited by Reilly Zamber, McKenzie Zamber, and Jimmy Bates for FifGen Films (they also worked with PTX too)

Brother is a good one for Chance. Plus you will ❤❤❤ the video!!!!!!!
Sorry about the childhood trauma trigger, DJ 😅 At least we changed the order of the names, right?! 😉
Haha you guys more than made up for it with your amazing voices and this incredible song ❤️ thanks so much for your comment! I can't wait to hear more and more of your stuff!
Also listen to "Can't outrun you" by Home Free. Chance does the lead and it's AMAZING!!!
This is by far the best version of this song. So glad you got to finally experience Chance more fully. Great reaction! ❤
Love Adam Chance, Love Hound and Fox
Genre is Folk. There is also The Whistling Lad with the three of them
That's why hf is so good! Each guy is a musical genius
"We Three Kings" Fox+Hound w/Tim Foust is amazing!
"Cover Me Up" is a Home Free song featuring Adam Chance.
So glad you got around to Chance. He's as remarkable a musician as any of the other members of HF. He's also a singer-songwriter, like Tim and Austin.
Oh, a couple of Home Free songs where Adam Chance takes the full lead on are Some Girls Do and Cover Me Up.
I really enjoy "The Hound & The Fox's music. They've done a lot of collaborations with different members of Home Free & other artists. Their voices really suit the older folk style of songs & Chance blends well with them. Adam Chance’s voice sounds like good whiskey. 🥃❤🥃
The Fox and the hound is a husband and wife team. They just had a baby. They do folks music, sea shanty and lullaby's.
The "shiver factor" with this song is over the top. Breath taking is exactly the word. The three of them sound phenomenal together. Chance is highlighted in a lot of Home Free songs. You just haven't gotten there yet. You will. Great reaction!
you have to hear We Three Kings by the hound and the fox featuring TIM FOUST! it's beautiful
I am mesmerized by Adam Chance’s voice.
Yes, I call it the Home Free Extended Universe - the friends and family they collab with over time and who also make great music.
@@sallymaria See also: Texas Hill, Maggie Baugh, Jeffrey East, Chris Chatham...
Together with videographer Jimmy Bates, they are the video production company Fifgen. They produced most of Home Free's early videos and Jimmy Bates still works with them (eg directed the video for Brother).
Definitely want to be careful.... Disney sues for a hobby...
Maybe why it's the "Hound and the Fox".
@@sallymaria Our family calls it Home Free adjacent.
There is a talent ecosphere that surrounds Home Free Darren Rust and the entire organization after a while you will remember seeing many of them in their videos.
He also does am amazing cover of Driver's License. I think you'd love it. Adam Chance has such a warm comforting voice.
I think Chance’s voice is like warm chocolate.
When you react to Sound of Silence, take note that they turned around at the end of this video, then recorded Sound of Silence facing the other direction.
Chance’s voice is like a fine sipping bourbon. Warm and mellow.
The Fox and the Hound did appear in the video 'Grandma got Run Over..."
They don't disappoint either.
chance works so well with the hound + the fox that they call him the wolf X)
Listen to home free's version of Cover Me Up. Chance sings lead. Be sure to watch all the way for a special message at the end. Love your reviews.
This style is called Folk Music. It was very popular in the early sixties.
The word you’re looking for is ‘folk’. This old hymn has been done by many artists, most notably Burl Ives and Johnny Cash. Absolutely love , love , love Chance's voice ... so smooth , smoky , sensitive and sexy ! He collabs so well with The Hound And The Fox !
Now we know how Home Free can sing anything. The Fox and Hound are awesome as well. Wow
Highly recommend listen to The Hound and The Foxes version of Running Up The Hill from Stranger Things.
This is really amazing. Adam Chance who has the perfect voice for this.( smooth and sexy voice) That in combination with The Hound & The Fox just sounds magnificent. I like it better than the original. But yes the collaboration between them is always great, just like The Sound Of Silence.
Chance is awesome...His best with Home Free is "I Can't Outrun You"...he also directed that video which is brilliant on its own.

Genre for Hound and Fox runs to modern folk... lots of good stuff out there... Oh and uh yeah Chances voice is pure butter... or melted chocolate... 🙂
The genre you’re trying to think of is Folk Music. A famous American folk group is Peter, Paul & Mary. I’m not sure what other countries had a similar style.
Try Can't out run you or Working for a Living if you want to hear Chance solo with Home Free
DJ: I highly recommend you watch Adam “Chance” with Home Free do “I Can’t Outrun You”. You’ll MELT! 😉
For more Adam Chance see Home Free's Yours, Some Girls Do, and Brother.

Welcome to the incredible voices of these 3 gifted souls!
This is sooooo good. Another one is their take on Hurt (NiN/Cash)
You would probably like home free original “so long dixie”, they use an accoustic in it

Chance and The Hound and the Fox did a great job on this song. They have a great voice. The harmonies are great. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
That was so very beautiful, and just soul soothing. Glad this one won the weekly poll! 💜🦌 #DJantlers #DJsHerd
Chance is fire in this. Great song and well done
They do Hurt, and Sound of Silence ❤
If he likes singer songwriter we need to send him to Avi's stuff!
I think it falls into the folk music genre. Love this and your reactons!
That was stunning! I know when a group is great when I can't wait to go to their page immediately for more!
10:50...you killed me!
If you think that McKenzie has vampiric vibes then you have to see her in their version of The Lullaby of Woe from The Witcher.
You should listen to these 3 do "Hurt". Love your reactions
isn't this wonderful? As Tim used to say, "We thank God he didn't decide to join PTX".
H&F were originally FifGen - the production company that filmed HF's videos. Then at some point they started filming their own videos, too. They have a variety of song types for you to enjoy. They have collaborated with Chance, Tim, and (I think) Rob. Just another branch of the Home Free rabbit hole for you to explore.
I laughed out loud at your "Piss off!!"
