Miracle of Sound is an indie artist that writes music inspired by video games, movies, and some TV series. Valhalla Calling he's done at least 3 or 4 times...The first had Assassin's Creed game footage, but after the Ubisoft scandals, he did a more metal version using the footage from that Viking show. He did a duet version with another metal singer that sounds good, too. Throws in some Irish folk for good measure, as he IS Irish. He's worth listening to. I'm particularly fond of the songs inspired by God of War. Particularly Ode to Fury and To Be Better.
As an aside from my comment last night on this amazing version, I note that the originator of the song, Miracle of Sound, has commented on VP's video that this is the most creative version he's heard of his song and gives the guys 10/10 "raised ale-horns". MoS (Gavin) has himself got 4 versions on his page - just him, a duet version with Peyton Parish, a trio version with Peyton and That Bass Voice (Eric Holloway) and a metal version! With the VP version, the 4 MoS versions and Jonathan Young's metal version, I now have a total of 6 versions of this song on my Viking playlist (not 5 as I stated earlier because I'd missed one - old girl-brain malfunction 🙄)
What a masterpiece! They are in a class by themselves. No other acappella group comes close to them! Wow! Not only are their voices amazing, fantastic, and perfect, the costumes, makeup, acting - everything they put into their videos! Mind blowing! I listened to this a thousand times and heard something I didn't hear before. I would love to see these guys in concert! Absolutely awesome!
Mind blown? They all brought their A game to this one - above and beyond amazing. Also, Cesar's sweet soul has been taken over by some demonic Viking warrior!
Hearing Cesar bring out the rock god beside Eli was an unexpected pleasure! He was so fierce and so into character, he was amazing. Geoff's bass made me come over all unnecessary (as always!) but was so perfect for this song. I've never heard a rap section in this song (and I already had 4 versions on my Vikings playlist - this one's been added as well) so I guess they wrote it especially for this video. Would never have envisaged rap as part of it but it works!
I thought they wouldn't get it any better, than last... but... this is VOICEPLAY!!! these guys will never let you down. as far as I'm used to Geoff, but I'm surprised again)
You're best reaction. I knew you were going to break many many times. I absolutely love this myself too. I have it on my playlist and listen to it quite alot. When I'm not listening to Geoff's new video. Voiceplay fans are Voiceplayas.
your reaction is everyone's reaction. we all fell off our chairs :D also, why is nobody commenting on Geoff's sly smile - it breaks me almost as much as the sound does ^^
Definitely their masterpiece, perfectly suited to the diverse talents of VoicePlay. Congrats to each and every singer and staff contributor to this production.
The guys just keep passing themselves. All their growth since Covid stopped their touring has been exponential. I have not seen any other single artist or group of artists show anything close to how Voiceplay has expanded their talents in the last two years. Eli the Rock God with his light and computer work (and character voice work!), Layne doing Patty Cake AND Voiceplay, Geoff's...well, Geoff. Cesar shows us a new side everytime he sings (is there anything he can't do?) I'm not amazed anymore, I just sit here stunned with their videos on repeat.
Unreal Engine - In My Mother Told Me, the backgrounds behind them as they sang were rendered in 3D by Eli. Same thing with any terrains and the ships coming over the sea, etc, would have been made by Eli. :D
Just wanted to let you know that I found your channel searching for Voiceplay reactions, and I'm glad I did. You just get so emotionally invested in your reactions in a good way; I think a lot of us look for these reactions because we feel on the inside exactly what you are showing when you listen and it lets us think "Yes... Everyone is impeccable!🙌❤❤❤❤❤ VoicePlay is J.NONE's home, so I don't consider him to have left the group, but rather that he sometimes kindly lets other wonderful singers shine in his place while he is away.
@@dj_410 Skalds are essentially the bards and lore keepers of Viking culture. In Pathfinder they are actually a playable class that's basically a melding of bard and barbarian that can use their bard songs to enrage their entire party instead of granting inspiration.

It is like they got together in the back of a bar or somewhere and said, "We can start off with a chant, move it up to a type of hard ballad, then Elli can let loose his inner rock god, and what the heck, let's throw in some rap! We have everything else in there, why not? Hey, Geoff, the people want subharmonics? Let's give it to them! BOO-YA!"

This blew me away! Note to you: You're my favorite reactor! showing/reacting/ having a meltdown to my favorite vocal group. Going to show it to my Renaissance Festival crowd.
Think I mentioned in a previous comment this one might actually kill you. So brilliant to hear Cesar at that tone. Any demon/rock Eli cannot be beaten. Always fantastic to see J back. Geoff & Layne just are Geoff & Layne!! Alfredo Austin wrote the rap I think. I loved My Mother Told Me but this is next level. When I saw this on Patreon I barely breathed for the whole thing. J also raps in Superstition, Layne in I Knew You Were Trouble & everybody in My Shot. Watch out for Geoff's next Friday the song & video are beautiful.
I watched the original video - and then came straight from there to you for your reaction, because I knew it would be the only one I need to brighten my whole day! I'm so glad Cesar got to shine in this one - he's a brilliant actor as well as a singer, and after so long of hearing his beautiful, breathy vocals it was SO GOOD to see him really unleash the beast this time. And of course Geoff was bloody terrifying (in a good way,) Eli was the ultimate Rock God, Layne smashed it and J.None rapping...! Unreal Engine is a computer environment creator (used in a lot of popular videogames, although originally developed for 'Unreal,' obviously...) I'm guessing that's how they created the sea-faring scenes, with all the Viking ships.
This is amazing! J None slays in this with the rap segment, Eli with the upper reaches, Caesar's fierceness, Geoff & Layne holding all of the bass and rhythm.... Dang. So well done. Leapt to the top of my favorite list.
I have watched so many people react to this song, including the voice coaches and other professionals in the music business and none of them say anything about my favorite part of the song. When JNone is rapping and Elli sings " This is War " part. He holds that note until JNone is done and they all come back together. I had always been in chorus, vocal ensemble and even some Acapella, unfortunately due to chronic bronchitis, having my tonsils out at 20 ( because of having strep 7 times in 4 months ) and having Covid 5 times now ( 4 times after having the vaccine and boosters ) my voice and lungs aren't good enough to do it again how I did, but I LOVE hearing Voice Play, Home Free and Pentatonix. My grandkids don't know the difference yet between sounding good or bad so I'm able to sing to them. The 7 yr old was 2 months old when I started singing Pentatonix versions of Mary Did You Know, Little Drummer Boy, Hallelujah and The Celtic Women's version of You Raise Me Up. The 2 yr old likes those also, but I had to add ALOT more Celtic Women's songs. Baby Mine, My Prayer, a long with Amazing Grace/ My Chains Are Gone, who the nicest people at the church that across from my house have invited us to come to their church and I think I may take them up on their offer. This one church has been kind and helpful and all of that. This is a little long, so I'm leaving it here but if you want to know more details please send me a DM. I don't have a RUclips channel because I don't know the first thing about starting one and all the rules. My Dad was in the Navy and my husband is an OTR truck driver. Let me just say that I have to take a couple of rereads before I post comments to y'all. I think that I may need to learn some rules before I try. If you have any tips send them to me.
Ahhhhhh I'm so glad that you got to this so fast, I have been playing this so much since they released it on patreon and I am glad that it is finally out to the public. I was honestly speechless after I saw it for the first time, I had no idea what to say because it is just that epic, I still feel like that today. They not only knocked it out of the park, they knocked it out of the freaking stadium. I am so proud of them🥺Thank you for the great reaction as always, they always make me smile❤
I love what I hope is an implied storyline of J returning to the group. I’ve heard us called VoicePlayers or VoicePlayas. Some brilliant person who also loves Geoff has labeled herself a Castellunatic and I’ve stolen it! By the way, Unreal Engine is a program that Eli learned. It’s used to create backgrounds for video games and film including the television program the Mandalorian. The way it was explained (where ever I heard all of this) is that on set they have to be very careful about lighting. If they don’t finish the scene they have to recreate lighting for another take. But Unreal Engine is employed as they’re filming so the lighting is always consistent. It has nothing to do with this but I thought it was really interesting. He has really upped his game since MMTM! And Rick and Renette did an incredible job on the make up. Some of them have runes in their tattoos that spell out VoicePlay. Cesar’s face and Geoff’s forearm that you just glimpse for a second when he lifts his mug to J. when he returns.
I love watching you react to VoicePlay songs. It makes me laugh only because you react like all the rest of us, just with the volume turned up a bit. :D (No one can prove if I dance or not during VP songs.) 🤣🤣
I thought I paused a lot. Nope!! Bro, I wanted to fight too. Still do. I got up, I couldn't sit still, and I don't sweat often, but when you said no one could listen to this without swearing, it's true. The amount of swearing that came out of my mouth 😂 it's so good. Masterpiece.
This song is amazing - as is your reaction. When a new song comes out I always watch the premiere (if I can watch it) through the first time without stopping it or going back then watch it a second time to focus on all those little moments. I also hadn't heard the original but this is so good I don't think I'll need to. ETA: the comment about Bardic Inspiration had be dying. In the past week or two I've found the channel I've loved seeing the D&D stuff in the background but to catch the reference was amazing too.
Haha oh yes I'm a big D&D fan haha these videos prove to me how it makes sense for bards to be magic... no doubt that any of the groups I react to could do damage, cure illness or provide insperation just with their performance
@@dj_410 yea, listening to them and many other songs is wonderful, how it can make you want to get up and move or sit in aww or confusion sometimes. Bardic Inspiration just kinda made sense to me but I never really thought about why before.
If you want a great Cesar song, try Voiceplay's cover of 'I Can't Make You Love Me', it's basically a 180 degree shift tonally from this song, but it's absolutely gorgeous.
next subscriber milestone: do a double feature reaction of Ding Dong (the hide and seek song) by Voiceplay, and the one by the Bass gang, featuring the same guest, Lauren Paley

I can't wait for your reaction. I was on the floor. Some of the stuff they pulled off was not only inhuman but not of this earth.
I've lost count how many times I've watched this now - the reaction is Epic - more than matches their video
Demon Viking Cesar is even more amazing than Zombie Pirate Cesar!!!
@@dj_410 You will have to wait & see what crazy characters he is playing when you do "In the Hall of the Mountain King" & "Hide & Seek(Ding Dong)!!!!
Voiceplay didnt Disapointed us what a Epic Song. 👍🏻😊
I thought they wouldn't get it any better, than last... but... this is VOICEPLAY!!! these guys will never let you down. as far as I'm used to Geoff, but I'm surprised again)
every time they totally knock it out of the park!!!!
You're best reaction.
I knew you were going to break many many times.
I absolutely love this myself too. I have it on my playlist and listen to it quite alot. When I'm not listening to Geoff's new video.
Voiceplay fans are Voiceplayas.
PROUD TO BE A VOICEPLAYA!!!!! cant wait for geoffs new vid!!!
your reaction is everyone's reaction. we all fell off our chairs :D
also, why is nobody commenting on Geoff's sly smile - it breaks me almost as much as the sound does ^^
I loooooved your reaction! You are now a VOICEPLAYER. You acted all the feelings, this is stunning.
Definitely their masterpiece, perfectly suited to the diverse talents of VoicePlay. Congrats to each and every singer and staff contributor to this production.
Are you ok hun? 😂 It must be where it it’s 3am as well as this song being fire!!!
I lost it when Cesar brought the grit! That growl was just fierce!
they all went god mode on this one!!
Unreal Engine - In My Mother Told Me, the backgrounds behind them as they sang were rendered in 3D by Eli. Same thing with any terrains and the ships coming over the sea, etc, would have been made by Eli. :D
that is so so cool!!! is there anything they cant do!!!
Sounds fantastic in the car. Give it a try😮
oh ill be listening to this EVERYWHERE!!
I'ma go full Green Eggs and Ham with this! Yes i would listen on a train or in a plane or in a house or with a mouse!!!
THAT'S what it felt like!"
This was sooo epic!! Amazing. They are all freaks of nature, and I am here for it. I love it!!
Talent beyond anything I can imagine!!!
I have _so_ been looking forward to your reaction -- and it was as good as listening to the song for the first time myself! Go DJ! #DJantlers
aww thanks!!! Glad you enjoyed it :D
I would love to see your reaction to in the hall of the mountain king. As well as voiceplay with some of their female collabs
Defiantly cant wait to work my way through more!!!
You're a VoicePlaya now!
Geoff was 'channeling' Ted Cassidy's role of "LURCH" in the original Addams Family.....lol
Everyone is impeccable!🙌❤❤❤❤❤ VoicePlay is J.NONE's home, so I don't consider him to have left the group, but rather that he sometimes kindly lets other wonderful singers shine in his place while he is away.
"This is the definition of bardic inspiration!" You've been Skalded?
Im not too sure what Skalded is but bardic inspiration is a D&D term haha :)
@@dj_410 Skalds are essentially the bards and lore keepers of Viking culture. In Pathfinder they are actually a playable class that's basically a melding of bard and barbarian that can use their bard songs to enrage their entire party instead of granting inspiration.
You lost it so much!! 😂 Loved your video! Your reaction mirrored my shocked/floored response
it was just that incredible!!
I was sooo psyched when I saw your comment on the premiere! I watched your reaction 10 minutes after it dropped and was NOT disappointed! This is the most epic a cappella song I've ever heard, period, and I'm certain that you are only the first of many many broken reactors. Huge Texas hugs & congrats on being the first through the door on this one! ❤💜💙
Edit: I watched this the FIRST time 10 mun after drop, lol.
1st of all, how can you NOT get too animated reacting to this one?? Lol 2nd of all, I was waiting for the mind melt when J None got ready to drop his bars, and I was soooo NOT disappointed!!!😂😂😂😂❤
mans do be inventin new notes 💀
(all non-musician commenters pls try to guess where that low note is located on a 4-string bass guitar / upright bass)
WOW you got this out quick! Always love the reactions dude, keep it up!
hahaha as soon as i filmed i had to post it 1. cause my discord were going crazy and 2. Because THIS SONG IS AMAZING!!!
@@dj_410 Saw you in the chat, knew it'd be quick but not THIS quick!
BOO-YA!"
When you said, this is not war. Yes, this is war.
You are absolutely right to say...MINDBLOWING...MASTERPIECE..all other fantastic words that we can think of...I already listened so many times hahaha...see you on the next one!😊❤❤❤
there aren't enough nice words to explain their talent!
@@dj_410 you are absolutely right! I listen to them more times a day...so addictive 😉
And Layne in Moana
This was more than I could handle for sure!! hahaha Cant wait for Geoff release next week!!!
If you have any tips send them to me.
a voice playa mate , well thats what I call myself n i've been a 5 year fan!!
he joins Voiceplay on his breaks with the U.S. Navy
They just went off! What a show! These guys are so based!
The runes are also on the new merch they dropped today.
Love how you are jamming. Who knew Viking songs could be head bangin'?
To answer your last question, Voiceplayas 😂❤❤❤
I love watching you react to VoicePlay songs. It makes me laugh only because you react like all the rest of us, just with the volume turned up a bit. :D (No one can prove if I dance or not during VP songs.) 🤣🤣
I thought I paused a lot. Nope!! Bro, I wanted to fight too. Still do. I got up, I couldn't sit still, and I don't sweat often, but when you said no one could listen to this without swearing, it's true. The amount of swearing that came out of my mouth 😂 it's so good. Masterpiece.
I read somewhere that Eli used to front a metal band. You can so hear it here. These guys are amazing. Your review was excellent.
Well I know what game I'll be playing this weekend.
That was an awesome reaction! And I agree, they killed this one.
Great reaction
I like watch voiceplay broke reactor 😂😂😂
They are amazing
What a fantastic reaction to an absolutely incredible song!!! Thank you! We're Voiceplayers.
Ha! This was a riot to watch 😂
If you want a great Cesar song, try Voiceplay's cover of 'I Can't Make You Love Me', it's basically a 180 degree shift tonally from this song, but it's absolutely gorgeous.
Your reaction did not disappoint. Please keep it up.
next subscriber milestone: do a double feature reaction of Ding Dong (the hide and seek song) by Voiceplay, and the one by the Bass gang, featuring the same guest, Lauren Paley
Your reactions make my day. Your pure delight is a joy to watch! What a fun person you are.
It is war, though. VP is waging their own little war against mediocrity in music video production.
People who like Pentatonix are called "Pentaholics"; people who like Home Free are called "Home Fries"; people who like VoicePlay, as far as I know, are just called "people". If you run into anyone who does *not* like VoicePlay, let me know.
