It's Sweet Potato Quesadilla!

This is the most random combination of flavors I have ever seen. I want to make it just out of curiosity.

I wish I could like it. I tried it, but just can't stomach it. Only managed it when it was mixed with other cheeses in pasta or gravy (because I couldn't notice it).

story time: I made the sweet potato blue cheese one on my birthday (28.12) in 2013. yes, I cooked on my birthday myself, but I love it, so I thought 'what better way to get everyone eating what I want than on that day'. So after an annoying 6 hour car journey back home after visiting my grandparents, I started making these for my family. after finishing the first batch I put them on the table planning on putting them in the oven to keep them warm. My father and brother were in the living room watching the news instead of being in the kitchen as I imagined us all to be - chilling together. my father in all his ... being him, took the plate with a lot of quesadillas and ate all of them with my brother. came back with the empty plate and said "they were alright" (he said "hatte was" in German) and was somewhat baffled by my angry reaction. He ate all of my fucking quesadillas which I made by myself alone in the kitchen on my birthday while they were watching the bloody news (my mum had taken the dog out) after a very tense holiday season. Normally I'm all for ignoring my father's shenanigans, because I know I won't change him in "old age" (55), but that much insensitivity and ignorance and obliviousness was the cherry on top after other incidents over the last few days. I dropped the spatula and went out. what a lovely 21st birthday in the mids of my family.
rereading my comment I notice the quite private character of my comment. But MAN, rewatching the video gave me a flashback. YAY FAMILY
If you don't let people know what your plan is, you can hardly get angry if they don't follow it.
If there is four people living in the house it is obvious the food has been cooked for four. If you haven't already move out is my advice.

We just did it and it tastes awesomeeeeee! We used gouda and gorgonzola and the combination was great!!! Thank you Sorted!!! Next we will try the thai noodles in a mug!!!!

Thank you guys from Sorted. After I viewed your first quesadilla video I tried it myself with a friend. We liked the result and from there on we started making quesadillas every tuesday. Nowadays we have anywhere between 4 and 14 people join us every week (we all chip in). It's a blast to have so many friends join in with great food.

Soured cream is single cream that has been given a sharp, sour edge by adding a bacterial culture; creme fraiche is double cream similarly cultured but made from cream with a high fat content and is richer and thicker. They can often be used interchangeably though, there's hardly any difference in flavour!

You can put almost anything in there! Cajun chicken, peppers and cheddar is really good!

Tried this this evening. Added a few cloves of garlic and the onions to the pot halfway through boiling since I wanted that softer onion flavor. Turned out delicious, and the best news is that, not only do I have enough leftover ingredients for a second go, but I also got a very nice looking veggie stock out of the deal!

By the way! I'm loving your cookbook! So is my family! We ate started with some mango salsa (I didn't make the salmon with it, but just made the salsa) then your Chicken and Mushroom pasta bake and finished off with some Chocolate mousse. :) I got to use mangos from my grandpa's tree for the salsa, so it was all the more tasty. :)

adorable! as great as it is to watch Ben cook, it was kinda fun to see him get sidelined. I was starting to wonder if after 3 years the other guys had really learned anything about cooking, or would just always be following along. cool to see them take over the kitchen one time. although poor Ben gets knocked about no matter what it seems.
