    When you increase your fiber be sure to increase your water consumption.

      When you are eating fruit and vegetable whole-foods, they are both fiber and water. Increasing these foods increases both fiber and water.

    Would be great to see doctors like this in other areas of the UK as they seem to not be informed at all about the health benefits of whole foods plant based diets . My doctor asked me why I had lost weight , when I mentioned I had changed my eating style !!!!! And was not impressed!!!

    Bless humanistic plant-based doctors. "We cannot segregate the human heart from the environment outside us and say that once one of these is reformed everything will be improved. Man is organic with the world. His inner life molds the environment and is itself deeply affected by it." ~ Baha'i Faith

    You are a real dr. I do follow greg aswell . I wish you were my dr. Drs. Don’t tell you to eat healthy because they have no idea what food is good and what not as they studied medicine not nutrition.

    I totally agree about the NHS. My dad had a triple bypass which saved his life. But he was given no education on his diet since. He won't listen to me, but he would most likely take heed of a health professional. It makes no sense.

    I am curious. Are doctors in the UK allowed to recommend such books to their patients? Are they encouraged to look at lifestyle?

      Alice Eleanor Matthews yes whole food plant based is nothing added nothing removed so yes no processed vegan foods. The term was coined by T colin Campbell and on his centre for nutrition studies nice explanation of what it is. Essentially fruits, veg, whole grains, legumes, nuts and seeds and minimize added oils

    Any thing from plant based that I should avoid, also I was told to stay away from night shades ,. Do I need to not eat tomatoes and peppers,,
    I’ll be taking activated charcoal and cholstermine to detox...
    I need to make a change , just feel so overwhelmed but so sick of feeling tired

      I’m the same ...just so sick and tired of feeling sick and tired 😓 I have sensitivities to plant histamines so I have been keto for a long time now and have improved my diabetes dramatically. I have had an improvement in energy but not good enough to make life enjoyable. I’m sick of meat every meal and cravings for vegetables is strong. I’m trying to gradually change my diet to PB to see what happens. I can now eat small amounts of nightshade (tomatoes, aubergine, peppers) - which I love. It seems like trial and error and I’m learning from the body’s reaction to each food. No two people have identical food intolerances. Foods to absolutely avoid are probably best to Google research for your own personal condition - rather than rely on any one person. For example, A person with severe anaphylactic syndrome needs to know what to avoid entirely. It could be very serious in some situations. Awful. Absolutely everything he said is wrong. The science says exactly the opposite of what he is saying. There is no debate, he’s just plain wrong. He is a great advert for why doctors should keep their mouths shut on nutrition.

    • @martykerns3802

      He refers to a book in his video that you should read: “How not to die” by Michael Greger MD. It comes complete with close to 100 pages of references to scientific studies. After you read it, let us know your thoughts.

    • @asarcadyn2414
      @asarcadyn2414 3 года назад

      @@martykerns3802 You know I’m not going to read it. I have, however, watched many talks and interviews with Dr Greger and am aware of his list of studies and have read many of them out of interest (they are all fairly well known). My view of nutritional epidemiology is that is it great for getting hypotheses to study scientifically using controlled experiments, but have no relationship to the cause of any disease other than an association. None of the studies show an association that is remotely significant for the average lifespan of a human being. I’d go even further and say that none of the studies cited show an association of disease with cholesterol, meat or saturated fat. There are however no long term convincing RCTs using humans that show disease is more prevalent with any particular diet ( as that would be unethical, terribly expensive and pretty much impossible to manage). All we have is seeing plant-based food (mostly the bad type you wouldn’t touch either) become 70-80% of the SAD and metabolic disease going through the roof at the same time. I agree that cutting refined grains and carbs, sugar, and processed seed oils out of the diet will have terrific health benefits, but not because you replace them with either a vegan diet or a low carb animal sourced food diet. It’s simply removing unnatural food that will give you your health back. So I would say that both a vegan plus appropriate supplements and a low carb meat diet can be equally as healthy and their proponents should kiss and make up and fight together against the unnatural foods being pushed into our diet for the sake of prof

      @@asarcadyn2414 LOL, that’s so funny. You’re entitled to your opinion, but NOT to your own facts.

    • @asarcadyn2414
      @asarcadyn2414 3 года назад

      @@martykerns3802 Facts are facts. Nutritional Epidemiology studies are anti-meat researchers’ opinions based on infrequent FFQs which give very poor data. No facts can possibly come out of such studies. Which fact do you think is my own? I’ll show you studies that supports it.

    • @tanyasydney2235
      @tanyasydney2235 2 года назад +2

      @@asarcadyn2414 And the same goes for many of the studies supporting animal based diets. While being on a Ketogenic - Carnivore protocol for over two years, I can tell you from my own personal experience that I was getting sicker and sicker. When I switched to a WFPD all my health challenges resolved. So I don't need any "studies" proving otherwise. Not to mention that I feel good knowing I'm not contributing to massive suffering of other sentient creatures.
