    My mom and I went vegan(whole food plant based) 3 years ago, she was on 14 meds at 83. Now at 86, she is only on 1 med..for blood pressure, we can't quite get it down. I am 60, and not on any meds. We both lost a lot of weight, not trying, just because of what we now eat

      Seniors have more life experience to teach them how to differentiate facts from lies. Whole food plant based 3 years now at 76 - just do it. The challenging part has been dealing with others who have been brain-washed by the biased media including govt.

      Anita Turner....I got turned on to " The starch solution" recently and have decided to get off meat and dairy. My only problem is that the author is adamant about totally eliminating fats, even plant based. So, my question to you is" Did you eliminate or greatly reduce fats?

      This stage of feeling great may have to do with detoxification. Be aware of it.
      Know this could be the reason.
      I did vegan. Now I have to have meat. Not for taste. I dont crave it. But if I---I----dont eat it I loose strenght. Ive not been able to rebuild the way I was for those few months.

    I am consuming a whole food plant based diet for almost 4 months now and I am so excited and so happy b/c of the many benefits I have experienced. Such as: much much improved digestion, lost 19 lbs quickly and without trying and maintaining, my handwriting is sooo much better, more energy lasting the whole day, 20 points lower in my blood sugar readings, no longer being pre-diabetic, no more foot pain. All of that with so much delicious foods. Finding new recipes all the times. Pat on my back!

    3 years ago I went whole food-plant based to lower my LDL, which indicates heart attack risk. It went from 120 MG/DL, elevated risk of heart attack (100 is cutoff), to 65, in the ideal range and virtually heart attack proof.
    Mission accomplished in just weeks.
    I lowered my blood pressure and resting heart rate enough to come off the beta blocker. Now, bp is 120/80 last I checked and heart rate is 71. Previously before I was on beta blockers and on standard american diet, it was like 160/100 and heart rate was over 100. Very bad.
    Weight is a solid, healthy 150, dropping from 193. It was as low as 135 but I ate too much bread. I am very, very happy with these results. I feel good. I go up 2 flights of stairs and don't breath heavy. I sweat far less quickly on hot days. I'm not in great shape; a little better than sedentary I would say.
    Very happy!

      So many recipes and alternative that there is no need. My sister told me there was one thing that has been perfected by vegans, ground beef. It is one thing that my sister found hard to replace. I take that as a challenge to see if I could master the art of taking ground tofu to create the perfect plant-based ground beef. It is hard, but I was so close to get my sis' approval. If she thumbs up it than I had mastered it. 🥰Plant based does that, makes you challenge your inner chief to perfect the art of meat alternative. Don't see it as a hindrance but as a challenge to to be a master chief.
      I love it when meat-eaters eat my food and go "Damn! This is really good! What is in it?" When I tell them, they go 😱"No way!" Herbs, spices and plant seasons is the trick. That in itself is Artistic Science.

    As a 59 year old, who eats a vegan/plant strong diet, I feel good, and it is relieve to know that I do not have to worry about some diseases. I agree that there are congenital conditions, and sometimes people get sick who eat vegan diets, but I believe for the most part, vegans are much healthier. A vegan diet is less inflammatory. Furthermore, a vegan diet is good for the environment, and the animals. I hope more doctors support veganism, and understand why they need to. Got inflammation, go vegan!

    I saw a link on a RUclips channel called, Earthlings and thought it was about ET's , man did I get a rude awakening and became instant vegan. That was 1 1/2 years ago. Whole food plant based is the way to go. Brain fog and many other physical problems including weight loss (70 lbs) went away within about 6 months.Initially I had bloating from a sudden bean intake into my diet, but that went away within a month. The body starts detoxing and it can be quite uncomfortable for a while, but so worth the discomfort as the poisons are leaving. Thank you for this educational video.

    That is absolutely true. My wife about 10 years ago was diagnosed arthritis and she went and see specialist. During the visit she asked if she needed a change of diet and the doctor said that food won't change the situation except losing weight. And of course she started taking medicines with periodic liver tests to see if she was damaging her liver with those meds.
    Now after 5 years vegan she is off arthritis and asthma meds. That specialist knew only how to push pain management meds.

      A Plant Based Diet has Huge implication to the system. And many people cant even grasp that.
      Its like the Energy issue. If they give out free or very cheap energy, the whole system will collapse. Just like with plant based diet...if most of the people adopt it, the whole system collapses too.
      There is no way they will leave it out in the open and promote it like that.

Be prepared to answer all of their arguments, with confidence without being angry at them. People can’t change what they don’t know. Any argument against veganism fails each and every time. Eventually, those who want to know and do better, will turn around. If they don’t, someone else will. Good luck. Thanks

    I've been on vegetarian diet for 10 years now and I gotta say it was the best I had ever done. Currently, focusing more on vegan and noticed a huge change on how my body functions. I spoken to my sister and her friend, "I saw great positive changes as a vegetarian, can you imagine if I went vegan." So went vegan due to seeing connections on energy level and how the body works. I have hypothyroidism issues, including bradycardia (low blood pressure) and hypoglycemia (low sugar levels). I was always so tired and low energy. Veganism gave me energy and must needed focus I had lost before. Now I could think and do multiple things (five to six things) while before it was just two to three things. The results speaks louder than what arrogant, ignorant people could possibly say or do. If the side effects spreads to saving the Earth and other life forms that is a good thing too, but the top of my list was avoiding hypothyroid meds. Fuck the pharma.

The worst of my problems (headaches/insomnia) are gone... after 2.5 months of a total plant, whole food diet. This works. Do it. No temporary pleasure that meat, dairy and processed foods can bring will ever top the benefits of this lifestyle.

    Fascinating interviews, well produced! I used to have angina with my morning sigaret as an -ovo-lacto vegetarian, I always though it was the tobacco, but this went away after going plant-based while I still smoked within a month. I have since also quit smoking tobacco...

    • @clarebirschel4100
      @clarebirschel4100 7 лет назад +1

      Eelke Aptroot Hey congrats to changing your diet, FYI the smoking contributed to the angina too. The gases produced in cigarettes "knock out" the oxygen molecules in your blood cells - causing shortness of breath. The chemicals also makes the blood thicker and sluggish, and encourages fatty deposits that are in the blood stream (from your diet) to stick to the artery walls. This builds up over time, causing the vessels to narrow, slowing the flow of blood therefore oxygen through to the heart - causing the angina. So, if you smoke AND have a bad diet, it's double trouble (I am a nurse, btw). So, well done on stopping smoking. And now you are on the correct diet, your body can start to heal 😊😊😊

    • @eelkeaptroot1393
      @eelkeaptroot1393 7 лет назад

      Yes, I think I had some blockages, also nicotine causes vessels to narrow almost instantly I've heard. Never had trouble breathing though, but I would have this cronic dry cough, which went away almost instantly after ditching the tobaccco.

    • @clarebirschel4100
      @clarebirschel4100 7 лет назад +2

      Eelke Aptroot Yes that's exactly correct. The dry cough is the chemicals irritating your airways, also the cigarettes also burn off the tiny hairs in your air passages, allowing dust/irritants to get in so you have no barrier to keeping this stuff out and can cause the cough. You are on the right path so be proud. Funny, I've never smoked but now look at meat like an ex-smoker- I can't believe I ever ate it 😊

    • @eelkeaptroot1393
      @eelkeaptroot1393 7 лет назад +6

      Yes, I have the same thing. And though I ate lots of meat and smoked tonnes of tobacco in the past, in both cases the mere smell of either makes me nauseous now, to the point that I loose my appitite...

    • @clarebirschel4100
      @clarebirschel4100 7 лет назад +6

      Eelke Aptroot know what you mean... The first time I went to the supermarket after going vegan I had to walk past the meat isle. All I saw was chopped up pieces of dead animal, I then started crying and felt sick...I had to leave the store... I just block it out now (difficult as the fruit & veg is usually next to it!!!)

    I imagine a lot of people are also discovering plant-based from "What the Health". I'm on day 3 of my switch to plant-based from a mostly meat-based diet, and I don't feel too well. I feel empty, and my body often aches. I wonder if it's the withdrawal from the lack of the opoid-like BHTs included in mlik products I normally consume, or if it's the sudden change from a high-fat diet to a low-fat, high-carb diet. Either way, I intend to stick with this for the 2 weeks. It felt weird spending most of my time in the produce section of the grocery store. But vegan mayonnaise tastes even better than the alternative. And this data is so compelling.

      Level Up Vegan sounds very good. I'm on a plant-based diet too. I went on a cleanse for a whole week drinking only apple juice and water. Gallon of apple juice in a gallon of water and 6 tablespoons of olive oil and 16 oz of prune juice in the morning. I did this for entire week with no Foods nothing. Some days I felt crappy cuz I was detoxing too fast but I feel good now

    There is still a lot of misunderstanding about whole foods plant based eating, and many believe that diabetics cannot eat the starches/sugars on this plan. But the good news is that this diet can be adjusted from beginning to end to regulated the starches if need be at first, and then as blood sugars come down, more starches can be added as desired. All this should be under the supervision of a doctor, of course, as medication will be reduced as the diet continues. If more calories are needed, nuts, seeds and avocados usually will provide them without overdoing the starches.

I'm a registered respiratory therapist. I read the China Study ,How not to Die, etc! Plus about ten more books and watched hundreds of webinars and just a few documentaries. I think where I live it's a financial motivator to not pursue WFPB diet. The info is out there, some refuse to listen.

    This is a very useful and inspiring video I put in my diet and health playlist.
    It's possible to switch slowly and I followed the general dietary advice of eating no sugar (Lustig) although I didn't buy into the low carb deal. Then, with Mcdougall I discovered starches and did the complete switch. I frankly think the biggest difficulty for me was getting rid of diet soda. I drank it into my whole food-plant based diet, and that's technically a banned item. It was very difficult but with care, I pulled it off.
    Another thing is the signs at the fast food places. At first I avoided driving by them. I think the temptation when entirely away after over a year. However, it got less and less, and I never did eat at one of them. I buy coffee sometimes.

    I started a plant based diet 5 weeks ago. I have CKD and have been referred for dialysis. Medication has not worked for me. I thought i would give plant based eating a go as I feel I have nothing to lose.
    I have lost 21lbs
    I have no joint pain.
    My energy levels have been low but my endurance levels have increased if that makes sense?
    Yesterday for the first time in months, I felt a positivity and quiet determination, I have not felt for months. I have another 4 stones to lose but I know i am going to do it this time.
    Oh and I have had no chocolate, crisps or cake for 5 weeks!! Thats a miracle in itself as I could eat 3 snickers bars in a row. I just have no wish to eat them. They mean nothing to me now. I think i have realised food is now a fuel to my body not a comfort.

    my partner cured a stage 3 pre cancer in 8 weeks and one day exactly. They had to call a multidisciplinary hearing to try to work out what could have happened in those 8 weeks. When we told them about the diet this fell completely short and they did not hear this has a possible explanation. Now we are 2 years WFPB. When we started we felt really better and anthousiastic about it. We feel even bettter now but.. Now we know organised human life as we know it has no future on this planet because of the level of emissions and all, so not so happy any more. I think a lot of vegan realise our societies are not getting better any time soon and the feel great factor of like 5 years ago is now gone. A feeling of amertume is left, as the french say.

    People have access to all of this information from the top health professionals in the world and they will still either ignore it or try to discredit it so they can continue eating the way they always have. People will think up every excuse imaginable not to adopt a vegan diet. They say it's easier to change someone's religious beliefs than their diet and that's the fucking truth.
    It's because we're so addicted to animal products. Our unhealthy eating habits are also deeply ingrained in our society and all these nutrition authorities can do is keep reciting the most up to date information out there. As a vegan, they sound like a broken record to me, but if they're consistent, the truth will win out eventually. The customer isn't entirely to blame, of course, as companies push their products so hard, lie, and mislead you in an effort to confuse you about what's healthy.
    In the future, I can foresee warning labels being mandatory on various foods, similar to cigarettes. People will gradually move away from unhealthy foods, like they did with cigarettes. Big pharma, medical insurance companies, the meat and dairy industries, and these massive processed food corporations can't keep the veil over everyone's eyes forever. We will eventually all see through it and these greedy swine won't be able to profit off of our declining health anymore. They will have to adapt or move over.

    Dr Wes Youngberg, a founding board member, of the Am College of Lifestyle Medicine, has over 26 years of research work, and patient care. He is pioneering work in using lifestyle medicine to actually build bridges across malfunctioning genes or change gene expression to proper function--he is out of Temecula, CA I believe (Southern California, San Diego area. He also does worldwide consultations I believe). There are a few videos of him speaking up on RUclips or you can find them on his website.
