I put this on while I was heating up beans. Then he said onions, so I added onions. Then he said nutritional yeast and mushrooms so in they went. He basically made my lunch recipe 😂 actually pretty good
I remembered the onions crunchy with my lightly cooked salad with Chick Peas and Kidney Beans, (Broccoli, Carrots, Sprouted Beans and a little serving of rice. I was once told your plate should consist of 70% veg/salads then add what you usually eat. That's called eating just eating potato's and hard food just comes out the other end and basically starving yourself hence the snacking. Food is a science more than we know. Nutritional yeast has niacin and I won't get enough if I cut out wheat products but I'm covered if I buy the yeast, so that's good news. Plus I hear it's good on popcorn.

My dear Grandma died 2 months to her 103 birthday(Several years ago) One of the most caring, selfless, and hardworking persons I've ever known. She was thin, and in good health all her life, thanks God! One of her daily foods was BEANS, but she also loved meat😊 and she enjoyed a few unhealthy foods once in a while😅. We are very blessed to have had her in our lives. We will always miss her.😢🙏❤️
“Anti nutrients tho” is a new one. Bullshit. Gets some research done. “Beans, beans good for your HEART...” Beans are very healthy. They have a lot of iron and magnesium and also fibre which gives your brain the signal that you are full. Fibre all the way!
I love beans! I love black beans. I started eating beans 4 times a week about a year ago. It took about 6 months for my body to learn to digest beans easily and well. Beans are amazing! They fill you up and you lose weight.
I eat beans twice a week and I eat lentils on a daily basis Trust me , i do not intend to exaggerate But beans are really nutritious I'm 16 and I'm a vegan I exercise on a regular basis and my major source of calcium , zinc , protein is lentils and red kidney beans I'm very healthy now and I used to suffer with obesity , i also overcame it Beans are really good for your skin and overall health At least eat them once a week I currently weigh 82 kg and my height is 6'2 Thanks to this channel which certainly helped me a lot !
I eat a can of black beans daily, usually with whole wheat pasta and kale but also cayenne pepper. I eat various other starches as other meals and some carrots and gtg on all my nutrients while taking b12 vitamin too.
I’m very happy to hear that you’re already vegan at 16 & thriving. I wish I had been exposed to it much sooner, but I’m at least glad that I made the transition in my 20s. I’ve never felt better, beans and all 💪😁
How do you cook them, stove top ..insta pot or buy can? I have saved recipes to help digest beans easier by using baking soda idk if anyone else does this?
I actually started backwards lol. I started to make beans 90% of my diet and was like “wow I’ve lost a lot of weight this past week. Let me see why” this video is great!
I don't want to lose weight I want to gain more weight well muscle I don't want a mid section but for the last two weeks I have implemented Kidney Beans into my diet. Starting to feel more energy for sure and doing push ups are getting easier with no fatigue. Why didn't I do this before?
After losing my voice and my ability to walk, I was diagnosed w/end stage ALS ( Nov 2nd 2019 ) and told I wouldn’t live 6 months! 😔 I went vegan the same day. 3 days later my severe allergies disappeared. Within 3 weeks I could talk and walk, again ( ty God! ) and I’ve been walking and talking since! ( over 14 months ) and rarely choose, rarely need... a wheelchair! Neurologists say they’ve ever seen or even heard of anyone getting better who has ALS, til me!!
I'm from Costa Rica, we basically eat beans 3 times a day from when we were born. I love variaty in food, and although I'm vegetarian, there's much I learn from these vegan videos. "You are what you eat" they say 💚
I was 100kg for so long and I started eating beans everyday from last 2.5 years ago. Lost more than 25 kgs, now I am 72kgs and never got any increase in my weight. Always full and energetic, enjoying my life every single day since then.
Beans is the core of my diet. Highly placed on my top foods. so complete. so filling, Muscular athletic and not hungry. WIn win win. And i bet they are healthy :)
You do need to eat beans regularly to be able to digest them without problems (gas, etc). I'm from South America, I grew up eating beans and never had problems with them. Then I went on the keto diet for several months (beans not allowed). This made me lose all my bean digesting bacteria. When I started eating beans again, I had so much problem with gas, it was horrible. I kept eating the beans and it took several months to re-grow my bean digesting bacteria. Now no more problems with beans, just like I used to be. Beans are great for many reasons and I never want to stop eating beans again.
I did believe that I could eat any junk food as long as I also did eat my vegetables. My body did not agree. Now many years later and removed sugar, meat and dairy my body shows me appreciation again.

That's fascinating considering maize and beans have been a staple in the Mexican diet for many thousands of years. Incredible that in a few hundred years Kenya depends on these two ingredients.
@@jfadsojfask Right. Beans are every where and corn/mais/maize is so easy to grow and they taste good to with a little bit of pepper and spices in it and your in heaven.
You can make sauces with beans too, I thicken everything with beans, chickpeas... Instead of cream but you can get creamy texture very similar for vegan ranch dressing, creamy potatoes... :)
Just puree white beans (softer) or chick peas. I make creamy soups and dressings. Use tahini or chick peas (think hummus) flavor sweet like a dessert ( cocoa powder or berry sauce) or savory ( ranch packet or onion soup thin with water chill.) Save the water in chick pea cans and make whipped cream! Aquafaba YES its amazing! Chill then add sweetener, vanilla whip up with beaters serve and amaze others healthy, vegan, no chemicals or cholesterol.
Yes! Good tip. You can also use beans in baking. Just make sure that the weight of cooked, mashed beans or lentils is equal or less than the weight of whatever flour you use. (I've used red lentil puree, chickpeas and borlotti beans and white beans so far).
The doctor is correct; I'm living proof. We grow about 95% of our foods on our mini-farm/homestead, here in East TN. One of our 7 veggie plots of our 10,000 SF gardens is dedicated to beans for drying. We eat beans of various types about 3-4 times per week in various delicious meals. We are "pescitarians" not vegetarians, so we also eat eggs, dairy, and occasionally fish/shellfish. The last time that I went to the doctor, which was about 5 years ago, they ask me what I'm doing, and tell me that they wish they had my "numbers." So the old song is true, "Beans, beans, the miracle fruit..." ;)

I remember a song we sang as kids. -Beans, beans good for the heart. The more you eat, the more you fart.- I love raw onion and have been eating them raw since I was a kid. Love this as I’m transitioning to vegan.
I have eaten beans, legumes, and pulses nearly every day since the Great War ended, and over a century since, I am pleased to report that I have yet to notice any ill-effects.
As a beginner as a Vegan, I use to spend big money to buy Fake Meat. But now, I feel those Fake Meat are highly processed food might cause sickness and cancer. Now, I love to cook beans that need to soak a half day and simmer for about one hour. I cook a lot at once so that I can arrange some portion for many kinds of recipes. It can last for a week in a refrigerator. When I eat beans, I can promote my health with good metabolism.
You can grate (small perifications of grater) Raw onion, garlic, lemon and/or ginger to add /make any seed, nut or bean 'paste' as a base for any, topping, sauce or dressing..super easy. 😊

Dr Joel's morning smoothie consists of all the fruit and vegetables that exist, he calls it the cancer killer shake, all jokes aside this guy is a living legend.
Not all fruit and vegetables should be consumed together. Leafy green vegetables like spinach and stuff can be consumed with serving fruit for sure, like apples and some others I believe. For the most part, fruit with fruit, and vegetables with vegetables
@@theLTstation I can agree that I wouldn't just put strawberries into a salad with beans and grains. However pear and apple and all types of melon in salads as well as tomatoes, the fruit that is universally paired with vegetables. In other words for the most part fruit and veg are actually paired together more than you think.
Fuhrman saved my life. Of all his ideas I followed, the tip which worked best and easiest for me was eating one or two entire clear plastic tubs of organic dark leafy greens per day without anything poured on top. From 352# to 167# without any hunger or cost or effort or exercise.
Wow! I recently discovered I have a low white blood cell count. They wanted to send me to a hematologist. I was a bit afraid until watching this. Makes sense. I eat beans and nuts everyday.

My grandpa died of cancer.. i know what cancer means..what it feels like.. People don't really understand this deadly disease until their loved ones or they themselves get trapped in a rigorous cycle of painful cancer treatment. .. My grandma understood this.. and now she's a vegan for like last 10 years...the same year she lost her significant other.. I was so young .. 5 year old .. i saw my grandpa crying out of pain ... he didn't cry.. he was miserable.. I saw him disappear into a great void of darkness.. into nothingness.. I couldn't talk to him any longer.. he could no longer take me out for a walk or give an icecream treat.... I loved him.. Hope he's in a better place ... Afterlife.. But I'm glad.. i have my grandma.. and mum.. i would never lose em..

When I learned that animal products were inflammatory, and that I can get all I need from plant sources, I was all in. Love beans of all kinds. Learning all about them, and how to use them is fun. Yum.
I was a picky eater, didn’t like what the rest of the family did - but I loved beans! I said “when I grow up I’ll eat beans every day”! My father said ok who’ll pull you down from the ceiling? YEARS later I learned to add them slowly like the doctor said!
we pickle our raw red onions and keep mason jars of them in our fridge. so much to learn. we eat a fair amount of beans but I didn't know they prevented cancer. amazing!
We eat beans in all different meals. To thicken soups, I add a can or 2 cups of cooked and purée beans. I make bean gravy, onions, garlic, purée beans and add it to rice or quinoa and veggies. We also eat lots of bean burgers.
@Controversial topics She didn't say anything about being more motivated. 🙄 I'm pretty sure most people don't think "Aaah! What a lovely piece of food that will help me to lower my risks of cancer!" every time when eating a piece of onion.... 🤷♀️
I was raised eating beans and oatmeal just everyday of my life growing up and still my favorites, great information that everyone needs to watch these educational videos, thank you
All legumes are a super food. They: - are packed with protein - are loaded with fiber - are rich in antioxidants - are relatively inexpensive - store well for years (except for soy) - fix nitrogen for the soil - require less water than other protein sources - require less land than other protein sources - contribute less carbon emissions than other protein sources
@New York City Boy The anti-nutrients is merely a propaganda scare tactic propagated by the meat industry. If you soak them & cook them the proper way, that is not a concern.
Cruelty-free, or ideally lab-produced, milk (and fish) would be preferable for many people. Assuming the people producing it did it responsibly, obviously.
New York City Boy Low carb blogs love to bash anti-nutrients (phytates, lectins, and oxalates), but rarely tell the whole story. Phytates are said to reduce absorption of iron and zinc. But one point never mentioned is that our body adapts to phytates in terms of iron absorption. A study called “ Phytate, wheat bran, and bioavailability of dietary iron” found that iron absorption drops for a week or two but then goes back up to normal as the body adapts. But if that’s not good enough for you, they also found that eating vitamin C (55mg) with the phytates (175mg) cancels out the initial iron blocking effect entirely. They also claim phytates block 50% of zinc absorption. That claim is based on a study that looked exclusively at kids coming off antibiotics for an illness. When the study compared that to normal healthy subjects, they found that phytates actually increase zinc absorption. But you’ll rarely see that crucial fact mentioned in the antinutrient blogs. The realty is that our gut bacteria can break down phytates beyond the point where they can interfere with zinc absorption. Phytates are anti-carcinogenic, so don’t believe the fear mongers. Lectins, are claimed to bind to the intestines and prevent nutrient absorption in general. Note that dairy and other foods also contain lectins, but the paleo/keto blogs only seem to worry about the lectins in beans. What they don’t mention is that lectins are destroyed with as little as 10 minutes of cooking. The truth is they need an excuse to vilify one of the healthiest and high protein foods (legumes) in order to make animal products appear to be a necessity. Oxalates are said to decrease calcium absorption because they lock up the calcium that is also present in the high oxalate food. Note they don’t affect calcium absorption in other foods. Also, oxalates in food like spinach is reduced by 60% just by boiling it. Hope that helps to clear up any misunderstandings.
Sophie B Oxalates are said to decrease calcium absorption because they lock up the calcium that is also present in the high oxalate food. Note they don’t affect calcium absorption in other foods. Also, oxalates in food like spinach is reduced by 60% just by boiling it. So don’t buy into the fear mongering on the low carb blogs, you’ll be fine.

My daughter had the same thing and me too from eating the nutritarian diet mostly. I sent her this video that explains it. Good thing your doc didn't send you for a bone marrow extraction test. Those are very painful.
I'm a vegan on Keto and you CAN have beans in moderation. I use chick peas daily as hummus, in salads, soups, as roasted snacks even as a chocolate spread or pudding. You can also eat lentils and other beans but, limited by carbs needed to hit ketosis. Please look on the vegan keto sites for more info. I think keto has many great things for weight loss and health.
I love to sprinkle raw onion, too. My recipe for raw onion is to cut them and soak into a special source that is made with water, soy source, salt, brown sugar and dried sea weed. Just boil them, reduce to medium temperature and cook for just 10 minutes. Dump that hot source into the container of sliced raw onion and soak them for 1~3 days. Keep them in a tapper in a refrigerator.

Not to mention 4kg body weight loss (80kg to 76kg). More energy and no longer the feeling of unwell that has been the bane of my life the last two years. I support beans
Where did I get the idea that beans are bad? I have been avoiding them like the plague for years. I even opt out of getting them in my chipotle bowl. I don't mind them at all. I remember them keeping me full/satiated while growing up. My mom would cook them every night almost. She made this soup called 21 bean soup (or something like that) and I loved it. I will definitely add them back in my diet.
That's it, I'm adding butter beans to my breakfast smoothie from now on (which already has frozen broccoli, cauliflower, avacado, ground flax, cocoa powder, peanut butter, oat milk, vegan protein powder, frozen berries & bannana!!!)
I eat beans, I'd say almost everyday. Not sure if this have been covered but as a 21-year-old female, I'd love it if there's a guideline out there on the amount of beans I should consume in a day. I know they're healthy but many professionals mention that one has to take a certain amount. Thank you and good talk.
I think it’s awesome that this was titled beans so you would think that’s all he would go into, but not only does he hit home with the message but he gives so much more valuable information. This is a great video.
I’ve loved beans as long as I can remember and told my parents I’d eat beans every day when I grew up; my dad said who’s gonna pull you down from the ceiling. SO glad to know it’s a good thing!

@New York City Boy
The anti-nutrients is merely a propaganda scare tactic propagated by the meat industry. If you soak them & cook them the proper way, that is not a concern.
Packed with oxalates, sadly.
