You see that number 1 ehn, that was my last relationship. We broke up a few months ago. This guy and I started dating about a year ago. He would keep promising me about the future glory but this guy wasn’t doing anything in the present. No job, no money, No plan, nothing. Any time I ask for his plans, he’ll get aggressive or cold. He wasn’t accountable to any spiritual leader. He was just on his own. He would go for days without calling or texting, he’ll now come and be giving me empty promises. All talk no work. He was so lustful, he’ll be suggesting that I sit on his lap and that we should kill because there’s nothing bad in it. CHRISTIAN BROTHER O🤣! Mumu like me, because I was scared that I might not be with him when he “prospers”, I was scared to breakup with him. That relationship took away my joy and peace. I know better now. He kuku broke up with me himself(because I asked for his spiritual/Christian family)and I’m more than glad. I did thanksgiving service when we broke up! 🤣🤣🤣

Yes that money issue is very important.
If you are not married don't even try it. I am a victim, I even went all the way out to take a 1m naira loan to give to him to do business and pay me back but we are no longer together and I am servicing a loan all by myself. Sisters please take heed oo!!!
You see that money part, I learned my lesson. During youth service, I was with this man that was even 8years older. He swore that he came to this world just to play keyboard and be collecting money from churches. At 29 he hadn’t held down any reasonable job while at 21, I had held down several corporate jobs including internships. I would use the stipends my parents sent me and allawee to be cooking for him and he was always hungry🤦🏾♀️. We had issues at some point and he literally dumped me, I got to find that out half the time, he had even been cheating on me. Thinking about it now, I don’t know how I stooped that low. There was this other guy I was talking to and we were getting very close. He started by borrowing money that he never paid back till today. He will always rely on me for even transport. I would take myself to go see him and he would ask what I brought for him or tell me he’s hungry. The one that broke the carmels back was when he told me to bring money so me, him and one of his friends could go and chill on my birthday. I said no o, I did not come to this world to feed man, I will have children to cater to, let me save my energy and resources for them. Asides that he was so emotionally demanding. It was like I was the man, he was the woman. I received sense and ended the whole thing before relationship even started full time. Now I’m with a great guy that takes care of me amongst other great qualities he possesses. It took a while for me to see him spending on me as normal because of past trauma *lmao😂.
That last part!!!! Had to tell myself ‘miss independent is a figment of your imagination o, allow yourself to be taken kairof’

One of my experiences when I was single was with a possessive guy. 'Where were you? Who is that guy? What was he saying?' These are the kind of questions I was always answering. I felt choked. I had to ask for prayers while on a fast with brethren for it to be dissolved. That was how I became free from him.
And I met my husband afterwards with whom I felt peace and I could be myself.
Possessiveness is a sign that something negative is brewing in that person. I run from it.
I am going into my 60. I just like your transparency and beside this, I like the family of God which He has put you, look for instance, your daughter is a carbon copy of your husband and I know you too love your husband so dearly. May God be praised in your home. Wishing you best of luck for the future.
This is one topic every single lady should be told by other ladies with experience before going into r/ship. Ladies generally go all out. My own was money issues ooo and trusting in potentials. Truth be told so many guys will come with potential and the end of the day nothing will be actualized. How many ladies have entered one chance with potential candidates and at the end of the day (probably after marriage) there’s nothing to show for it. Sometimes marrying what you see is better than potentials. It takes special grace and God’s hand on a guy’s life for his potential to be actualized. We only hear of few marriage stories of the guy being broke at first but after a while he’s financially buoyant; how about the million and one stories we haven’t heard of marriages ( guys) that had potentials, read out their manifesto and at the end pamboribobo (futile nonsense) is the end result and the lady end up frustrated and regretting her decision.
Single ladies please use your brain and stop being emosh (as Solutions will say). I have learnt my lessons too ooo. Money matter is a no no in dating rship; when we get married we can talk money together. But dating... make every one dey their dey.. we go dey okay last last 😁😁😁.
Another lesson I learnt from relationship failure is that don’t think your story will be like every other person’s or try to think it’s the norm. So because every sister is usually the one doing good at some point and helping the guy will means that will be your lot. I heard a lot of peoples stories and experience so I let that define what mine should be too neglecting seeking the face of God before I went into the rship. Sister who says you can’t have a God loving man who is financially buoyant; the devil is a liar. Let’s re-orient ourselves oooo.

Thank you so much for sharing . I can definitely relate as I dated severally and made A LOT of mistakes before I finally got married at almost 40. Now when I look back , I put them all down to wanting to settle down and compensating for bad behavior or not fully allowing God’s spirit to allow me manifest who I professed to be in Christ . I am still work in progress but I am so grateful that all my works then ended up being in vain . As they say “ we don’t fail, we only learn through all our experiences “. I had this boyfriend in my University days. He really dealt with me. In my head i do not trust him but i refused to back off because the dude is tall , light skinned and handsome.*shaking my head*
The funniest thing is that anytime I travel to see him , I will pay for my tfare to and fro oo. Mama solutions imagine a young lady like me travelling from Anambra state( where my school is located) to Calabar( Where he schooled) Thank God for mercy... I will still feed him and his friends for the days i will spend and also give him money before i go back to school.
My parents made sure i was comfortable and he decided to take it for granted. It was my Heavenly Father that rescued me.. I have lots of experiences but will stop at this..

So much truth. Single girls need mentoring but I tell you most feel they are so wise in their own eyes. We all felt like that as single ladies. I also usually wished I had a mentor holding and guiding me through even though I dated one person before I got married. It was a messy breakup, I also believe naivety asper my first relationship was part of the issue. Like you said Thank God for restoration. I am grateful to God that I did not marry him.

Omg I can relate with the MONEY issue...so apt!!! Hmm where do I begin. My ex-bf! Infact!!! We were in a long distance relationship for 3yrs! I was the one that fed him, clothe him, even his family 🤦🏾♀️ and the funny thing yeah, he NEVER asked me for money but he will “ask” in a manipulative way....like “my rent is due o, I don’t have any money.” Next thing, I’ve carried his matter for chest...and will send him money. That 3yrs, I had NO SAVINGS!!! And working a minimum wage job...I was even spending more money on him than myself. When I visited him in Nigeria, I worked my butt off! I was the one that booked my ticket ($1,700), I paid for one month of Airbnb ($530+), bought gifts for his family (mind you he has 5 siblings), and as a good gf nah, I already planned his birthday ahead. Bought 3 colognes (over $100 each), clothes, shoes, Sunday Riley UFO oil for acne ($80), chaiii. All the restaurants we visited I was footed the bills. The ONLY GIFT I EVER got from him was a PINK dress he bought me from Jumia (mind you, it was the money I sent him that he used). Within a month, 2 of the colognes were already finished 🤦🏾♀️ Cuz he was spraying it like water. Ahhhh my enemy has suffered.
