That is an absolute beaut of a Cooper S mk3.
Simply a beautiful mini and the wheel mod does add a nice touch…. Top notch Toon
A beautiful MkIII Cooper indeed, looks fantastic
Wheels are very smart Alex, car is looking great.
Looking well shiny Mr Toon!
Nice to see your videos again mate
Looks great mate 😀
Class my man, total class.
Awesome. Bought.
Rose petals will be on the Cooper S Traveller in the not too distant future all being well. And I’ll be going the same route as you with the inserts.
Love bronze yellow 💛
Nice addition I think and the centre looks great. Becareful not to over tighten the grub screws though! I thought for a second you said you were selling the car then I realised you ment the carpets, heart attack avoided! Thanks Alex for the update. :-)
Mk3 isn't going anywhere!
Some of the Vortz wheels also had Cooper Car Co embossed into the rim. My old set on my ex cooper were ccc vortz
If my info is right, Cooper Car Co was the original manufacturer of the rose petal wheels and let them cast at Nick Vrotsos. Afterwards -when CCC quit- Nick Vrotsos (owner of Vortz) then bought the molds and started making his own wheels which are the 'normal' Vortz wheels
Yes that's correct.
Nick also passed on a set of moulds to a company in Japan, they are called CR Rose Petals. CR stands for competition racing and they have the correct centres.
If you check in the Vortz Mini book, they did have spinners on some of their competition cars.
Cracking car mate saw it at Himley
I’d put some grease on the grub screw threads Alex if they are made of steel, so the don’t attack the aluminium and seize in
Cheers mate will do
Offered a set ( non ) original rose petals for £200 with tyres , but preferred minilights , I think I should be kicking myself !
Alex, what are you on buddy? - if you’d have put the drill on the old speedo cable while it was still connected then you would have immediately known whether it was the cable or the gearbox drive ! Dohhh.. never mind, best regards buddy 😎
Strange, but all I kept thinking was , back in the mountain bike days I bet you had the cleanest bike around and the one that was in bits most often because you were upgrading little parts on it 😁
👍
Great video
You should try and get hold of the vortz air box, very rare. I was bidding on one a couple of years ago but went for over £500 I haven’t seen one since 👍
Yeah Vortz stuff is crazy rare now
Remember me Alex I met you at the mini run in wales 🏴
Hiya Alex-they are a nice mod those(even I could fit them !). I need a set of carpets for Bruce-let me know when your ready to sell. Keep well.
Will do mate
I have plastic cente caps on my rose petals, ... closes the hole off completely, for about a tenner
Hi Alex is the offer still on with Newton Commercial?
No mate it's ended unfortunately
@@classicminidetails8887 ah ok well i bought it now anyway
Wheels look boss bud.. BTW did you know your old mini the red one with the low mileage is for sale on Ebay?
Yes mate I've seen it. It's a brilliant car that
sweet little. mod that mate
Hi Alex. Be very careful about the speedo cable ! My daughter's speedo drive dropped into the gearbox and destroyed it ! There's a painful story about the outcome but in a nutshell her God father ripped her off for £600 ! This was 25 years back , that was a lot of money! Those wheels look lush mate !
Thanks mate it's all sorted now
Hello Alex, hope you are well, I met you recently at the Himley car show, I was the bloke opposite with the black mini who came over to say hello to you and Tom. Anyway, just wondered why you are changing your carpet and if you have you had any experience of the one piece moulded carpets and if so what do you think? ( I think they are from newton commercial?) I recently bought a moulded carpet kit for my mini (I think it was 8 piece) which I thought was the best one I could get (cost me £250) but had a right ball ache fitting it and I’m not 100% satisfied with the result, kind of I wish I had bought the 1 piece moulded carpet instead now
The carpets never fit great at all mate
Cheers for the reply mate, thought as much
@@brummierabbitman9637 no problem at all mate. I'm looking into a different company at the moment for s carpet for my MK1
I'm suprised that with all your attention to detail and originality you've kept those Rose petal wheels, by the way are they proper cast magnesium ones. Personally I don't like them at all and think that the original wheels and hubcaps look far better but that's just my opinion.
I quite like them on this car.
@@classicminidetails8887 It's your car and your choice, each to his own.
Have you ever tried speedwell wheels?
Never tried them on one of my minis. I've seen them on a few mk1S
Just bought a set of the rose petal wheels from minispares. But it doesn’t look like that web site is still working? Anyone know if anyone is making these again???
What tyres do you have on those mate
I thought dsn had finished?
I'm not sure on that one mate
why pay sixty quid when l can buy a 3mm allen key for pence
Watch the video.......
My grandads Company
Falken tyres are complete sh!t. Yoko's are quite cheap and incredibly good, I do not understand people buy anything else except for going after originality.
Agreed!
