Always enjoy watching your dedication to your Mini's I can understand your excitement with the switch extensions. It was also cool back in the day to have them. No leaning forward to find the switch. I never liked the Rocker switches as much that followed in the following Mini's
Great to see that you're finally so close to driving the Mk1. I love what you've done with it over the last year, I liked it as a cafe racer but it looks great as it is now. I'll have to get myself to some shows this summer to hopefully get a look at it if you're taking it to any.
Hi Alex. You really are a busy chap but it's good to see you in the garage. And l bet you're really excited to have the conversion done . (At last !) Well , enjoy !
Great video Alex. Those long switch extension things were very popular back in the day. Nearly everybody had at least one on their Mini. I remember them well from my childhood.
Fantastic video update! Wish I'd gone to Beaulieu but never mind, there's other shows. The Mk1 is looking fantastic and you'll no doubt enjoy driving it! My Old English White is getting there now, will try sending a pic somehow...
@@classicminidetails8887 Hi thanks for the reply .I am southern England. What was the purpose of the lifting number plate , do you think. Does it have bump stops so as not to damage the paint and vibrate . ? rgds Don
@@doncodman913 the original purpose was so you can lager items in the boot over hanging outside and still have your number plate visable As for speed bumps it I’m not sure
Be careful, DJSE has copyright on that 🤣. This car looks so much better than when you roiginally got it and the Cooper S Steels will be the finisher it needs, I liked the cafe racer look but standard IMO is so much better.
I'm still waiting for his PA to invoice me. Yeah got to agree mate standard on this car is certainly best I think I saw one at Beaulieu last Sunday with original S wheels and I'm sold.
@@classicminidetails8887 Cooper S wheels for all they're nothing flash just look so right on a standard Cooper. Be warned, Hollie is his PA and don't be fooled, she's a very savvy young lady so you'll be digging deep lol
Please don't take this wrong, did you do all the restoration while in a wheelchair?? I have a friend who's in a wheelchair, but his mobility might not be the same as yours... Just curious if a small vehicle like yours might be something he could get in and out of easily...
Hey mate! I didn't do the full restoration I did mainly bits that it was missing. I did get more involved with my van though. If I can help you both in any way please do ask mate!

Yeah I believe they were the thing back in the day. Pretty much everything that's not completely standard on the car now is a period upgrade
The Mk1s looks awesome and will be even better when it has had the conversion! 👍
It certainly will mate, can't wait to drive it now
