Great result. I believe that there is no question that you have chosen the only wheels for your excellent Cooper S. The colour is just right they and are the final detail that finishes your excellent car. Thanks for sharing it.
Firstly, You are NOT boring. I enjoy your videos, because You have a genuine love of these wonderful little cars. Second, the color is Perfect! Once you get tyres and hubcaps on them, they will look awesome. I spelled Tire with a Y, because that is really how it should be spelled. My spare tire for my Jaguar says Tyre on it, so I know its original. Thanks for sharing your Cars with us. Greetings from Delaware, USA
Thanks mate, I do try to include as much information as possible! And all the way from the USA!
Love them, better to go OG for the wheels, there's just something that looks right about the original creamy wheels.
I may have to check out Ryan, I live in England but my Hornet belonged to my Welsh mother and has Bangor plates, so it would feel right getting the original wheels restored in North Wales.
Wheel looking awesome Alex. Have my LP918s to restore back to original now I have the Minilites on temporarily for this year.
Get them painted up mate!
@@classicminidetails8887 they’ll be back on the Traveller soon enough. Just need to decide on what tyres to get ordered up.
Wheel's look fantastic.
I'd dred taking the hubcaps on and off!
Hubcaps are a swine mate.
It must be Sunday, great video as always Toony.
Its certainly the fortnightly update
Great choice of colour on the wheels really nice contrast
Thanks mate 👍
Nice job Alex, I love the camaraderie that you lads have together and a couple of years ago I expressed that (I hope) that some school and college leaders consider inviting you to do some motivational speaking to their students and young people. You are a true inspiration on many many levels to all of us. Loving the Cooper S series, it’s the DBs buddy! 👍😊
Thanks Phil! Appreciate it mate
Great vid as always mate. Wheels looking mint 👌👌
Thanks Owen!
Those wheels look great! Hopefully not much longer before you can get tyres on them.
I enjoyed this video format - seeing a bit of the process involved rather than just you sending things off and them 'instantly' reappearing. I do, however, also enjoy your other videos just pottering about in the garage, it doesn't really matter so long as they feature an old Mini.
Hopefully get some tyres sorted soon!
The wheels look very good. Can't say I've seen many classic Mini's with the original style Cooper S steelies over here, but I'll be looking more carefully at the next big car show (whenever that may be).
Cheers and stay well.
Not many people run them mate unfortunately
congrats on the 5K Alex........good stuff
Thanks mate
wheels look mint bro
Thanks mate!
Hi Tooney, great video, I had my steel wheels powder coated and it was a good job, but make sure that your hub caps are on securely or else you might lose one, I did !!! Keep up with the good work.
John from Southport
Will do mate! I test fitted them before paint and they fit really snug
Great video mate 👍🏽 all your vids are good but definitely like this style too 😁
Thanks mate!
Blooming mint matey 👍
Thanks mate
Perfect colour on them wheels 👍(You really gotta stop your brother eating from garbage cans)
Thanks mate
Love the look of the wheels on the car!
It can be a bit hard to tell the colour of it with the big heater on in the garage 😀
Got to be warm 😂 hopefully next month or so I can shove it away in the corner
Well done with the wheels, at one point I had thought you may have forgotten the spare, I should have know better with your attention to detail Alex.
Oh I have done the spare! However I need to test fit it in the boot. I may need a 3.5j spare to fit under the boot board
Hi Alex .Spot on with the colour choice ! After that digusting fart l hope he got a follow through ! 😂😂 Regarding tyre choice l found out that "vintage tyres " can supply SP Sports 145/10 . Too modern for the mk1 but ideal for the mk3 . Thanks Alex.
Yeah the aqua jets are good for the mk3 but not the mk1. I don't know what I want to do with the mk3 yet mate still need to decide
Definitely you have good taste
Thanks mate!
They are going to look the dogs !
I know mate I can't wait!
5k subs!! nice bro :)
Cheers mate
Nice picture quality and colour as usual, did you have two cameras in the van? there were different camera angles, I agree podcasts are great while driving, Bluetooth has made listening on the car speakers really easy, I've downloaded the podcast you mentioned. Is Luke a fan of The Prisoner series? , you both said “be seeing you” and did the gesture. The wheels are looking good.
Everything is filmed of one camera mate, I love listening to a podcast in the car! Much better than the radio!
Sorry off topic but the blue mini
You have or had with the bullet mirrors Huddersfield mini spares
Can you recommend them ?
As in quality and how’s the vision out of them ? Cheers
I never had a problem with them mate, they had very little exposure to the elements in my ownership too mate so keep that in mind 👍
I had similar with my Imp wheels, one was heavily pitted. Bit of a shame but they are old wheels
That's the only problem with old wheels. Luckily it's just the one
Looks great ..Now let's see them Rose Petals on the Mk 3 ... 🤔
Oh don't tempt me 😂
Wheels look great ... are you going to paint them rear shocks black ? As I think they look out of place
The top of the shocks are rubber mate. I will probably change them at some point it's just a pain in the ass taking both tanks out
It's bad when your mate's farts make your eyes burn 😂. Was I right with the Dunlop SP tyres? I don't mind being wrong.....its my favourite pastime haha!
Yes mate sp41s they came with. Blockleys are nearly identical to them
@@classicminidetails8887 Hey lads, the old bald lad's right for once, mark that in your calendars 😂
Btw if there's ever a reason for mask wearing, it seems it's when Luke is sat next to you!!
21:30 they definately look more creamy yellow. Sounds like its hammering it down outside?
It's always pissing down here mate 😂
@@classicminidetails8887 lol
Do you mind me asking what you work as ? Love the channel and the cars
I think he does some kind of motivation , and he moonlights as a male gigalow ,the old dears up north love him
😂😂😂😂
I work as a sales rep mate, I covered it in the podcast I did
@@classicminidetails8887 just seen the link, will be having a listen through. Keep up the good work
@@healthiswealth6797 knew I'd seen his face before!
where is Ryan located? does he do diamond cut? and does he do Mini Subframes??
He's in North Wales mate. I assume he could sort diamond cutting out mate. If he can't do it personally he will have contacts
@@classicminidetails8887 Need my front and rear subframes power coating for my 62 mini. I don't do Instragram
Open the garage
Keeping the rose petals for something else?
Yes mate, I will probably run them on the mk3 S
@@classicminidetails8887 to be fair, they’ll look pretty sick on the MK3
@@tommaxwell that's what I think
There are four different English Whites.
I believe so mate
@@classicminidetails8887 The Cooper wheels were originally OEW, (pale creamy white)
The Cooper wheels were originally OEW, but change to silver in late 66 or 67.
Nawwwwww look at your little face haha
🤣
Why on earth did you get them powder coated, they look so wrong, should have painted them if you wanted to keep the original look to go with the rest of the car. I think that in time you'll regret having them done because you're such a perfectionist regarding the car. Also if you'd had them painted you could have used the correct exact colour by getting it computer matched from the originals, if the paint is no longer available.
Anyway it's your car and your choice, good luck.
Tony I appreciate your comment, there is a few reasons I chose to powder coat them. I spoke to my painter and he told me to have them blasted and powder coated as it would give him a great base to work off. It actually works out cheaper this way believe it or not. The reason they haven't been painted yet is I want to try them on the car first see if I am happy with the colour and the overall look of the wheels then I will probably get them painted if they need it. The powdercoating finish is very good as it is
@@classicminidetails8887 Many thanks for your detailed reply and I fully understand and appreciate your reasoning. I only commented before because, in my opinion, they stuck out like a sore thumb as being so wrong. Whatever you choose to do in the future it'll still look fantastic.
69th like, Nice.
Cheers mate
