Learn how to do the matrix in this advanced contact staff tutorial. The matrix is one of the most famous contact staff tricks, partly because it's a difficult move. To make things easier we can break the matrix down into smaller chunks so before you learn the matrix you should have mastered both the front and back half matrices. Tutorials for them are here:

Thank you very much for clarifying this move. I have been working on this move for 2+ years and I definitely use "training wheels" to complete a full matrix. The key components that I have been missing were your "push" and "pull" shoulder wrap techniques. That thorough explanation really helped me connect my missing dots...it really is a brilliant explanation and...bravo! I even took a 2-hour workshop class solely devoted to the Matrix and I still struggled with a few of the concepts. Your methods are very on point and solid. Thanks again man!

Hi there I do bow staff however I see contact bow is weighted and the motion is much slower. Nice. Where can I find one. I live in Venice Florida. Weight length is important. OK bla bla. Enjoying the smoothness. God bless you and your family

You should just rename the tutorial if the first thing you do in the tutorial is tell them to not start here. You just name it matrix part 3 of 2 smh
