    What I find particularly AMAZING is that the real deal looks exactly like the CGI mockups I've been looking at in the "configurator" for these past 2 years. I will say that it can look a little "IKEA", but I'm assuming their are leather options and other custom wood options in the design center at Comlux.

    How about cabin pressurization. One important factor in private aviation is to have lower cabin altitude. The lower the better for passengers. Gulfstream has 3000ft cabin altitude in g700. how about this one ? I found unconfirmed info that this is below 6000ft which is significant higher than competition. Please can you comment on that ?

  • @michellabbe8517

    It all depends on what your missions are... Personally, I'll take a Global 8000 over this "airliner" and here's why... Although they claim a Mach 0.82 cruise speed, that is just marketing talking because that is its MMO and no one cruises an aircraft at MMO... I'd be very surprised if its "normal" cruise speed is even Mach 0.80, probably more like Mach 0.78 and then you need to know at which speed it achieves it so called maximum range of 5650 nautical miles, probably at Mach 0.76 or even less... A Global 8000 cruises at Mach 0.85 (typically) which is also the speed at which it gets its maximum range from or if you want to go faster, at Mach 0.90 (high speed cruise) or even at Mach 0.92 (super high speed cruise) and up to Mach 0.94 (its MMO). Typically owners will cruise at Mach 0.90 which is significantly faster than the A-220... The Global 8000's range of 8000 nautical miles a whopping 2350 nautical miles more than the A-220 and achieved at a much higher speed. Then there is the pressurization system... Although the A-220's cabin differential is higher than most other airliners, it is still not as high as the Global's differential which means the Global has a lower cabin altitude making long trips a lot more comfortable. Then there is the cruise altitude... The A-220 is certified to 41,000 feet where as the Global is certified to 51,000. This can make a huge difference when travelling westbound and the aircraft can climb above the winds, saving you time and money. Then there is accessibility to a kinds of smaller airports which generally a "real" business jet will have access to and not airliners that are modified into corporate versions because of weight and overall size.

    • @yaarn303
      @yaarn303 11 месяцев назад +5

      I agree. This jet seems to be primarily marketed for the “look-at-me” factor vs functionality. Reasonably, a jet owner would need a second smaller jet for general use.

    • @stevensims8922
      @stevensims8922 10 месяцев назад +4

      That must be why if you ordered today you wouldn't get it for 4 or more years, because they are already significantly back ordered by people that actually have the scratch to buy one. Sure it might take an extra half hour to get from NY to London, but let's be honest, a Global with 18 people onboard would feel like sardines in a can. (tight fit) where 18 px on a 220 is spread out. The ACJ is a Biz Jet meant for higher PAX capacity. If you just need to flit about with a couple of friends for a golf outing in Palm Springs, get a Citation. To each his own, both aircraft have their place. BTW I'd go for Dassault's new 10X or even the 6X before I messed around with Bombardier.

    • @winwhitmire2387
      @winwhitmire2387 10 месяцев назад +4

      As a A220 flight instructor, 1st...PLEASE don't refer to them as "joysticks". They are "side sticks"! At my company, we stress..."this ain't a toy plane". The physical size of the cabin is what makes this jet unique. The fuel burn, at an airline cruise speed (and you're correct...we don't cruise at MMO... BUT WE COULD!) is about 2800 lbs/hr which is phenomenal. That's why we can fly our jets from coast to coast with only 109/130 passengers (-100 or -300) and still make money. It's great for long haul/low density routes or off season. It's also very quiet. Unlike the BBJ, its weight footprint is much less and thus allows more runway availability and ramps. Of all the jets I've taught over 25 years, this little bugger is my all time favorite "flying girlfriend". For what it's worth, someone noted "cramped Bombardier". This aircraft is a clean sheet design originally called the Bombardier C-Series before Airbus bought the division.

  • @rufuspipemos
    @rufuspipemos 10 месяцев назад +4

    This looks FAR better than the renderings. But for $70-90M, the max altitude is very poor (41,000ft), the cruising speed of mach .70 to .75 is slow, and the cabin altitude is higher than new $20M private jets. Not to mention you have to land at large airports and small ones are out of the question.

    Serious Question: Why is there no EVS?

  • @ruffnutz71
    @ruffnutz71 11 месяцев назад +3

    It would be a hard sell over the 10X or Gulfstream considering the purchase prices are so similar ....It has less range , slower cruise speed , lower flight level and less cabin pressure All in exchange for more room and slightly lower running costs. So you can arrive later and less refreshed if you buy the 220 , not much of a sales pitch.

    • @stevensims8922
      @stevensims8922 10 месяцев назад +1

      The 10X won't be available for a few more years, but you are right it's a sportier option for up to 8 pax. Once you start getting North of 10 pax though, the ACJ is going to have it's charms.

    • @ruffnutz71
      @ruffnutz71 10 месяцев назад

      True , the 10X is a ways off but the major down side of the 220 is it gives up the "marketable" benefits of the smaller Gulfstream size jets ( speed , distance , altitude , cabin pressure) AND it also gives up some internal volume on the BBj's and ACJ's , its just a big compromise with no practical advantage unless the buyers want to lose time and volume.

      So fly an outdated fuel guzzler owned by the airlines, who are pushing it to the maximum, or this efficient one. Sour grapes indicate what we all see as progressive, that airlines are losing first class to private charter, and those seats subsidise cheap ones, so the days of cheap holidays and weekend getaways may be nearing their end, meaning less airlines, less polluting old fleets, and an environmental win.
