For those of you wanting to be Plt Honorman it's very simple.
1. Be in good shape. Be able to do 10, or so, pull ups. Be able to knock out 30-40 crunches and get 3 miles in 25 minutes.
2. Pre-learn as much as possible. Get a "Guidebook for Marines". Memorize your general orders, rank structure, familiarize yourself with "customs and courtesies", etc. By knowing basic material like that, you'll be one step ahead of your platoon mates.
3. Give 100% every day in everything you do. I don't give a rat's hairy butt how tired you are, push throught it. Got a leg cramp? Limp your way through it. Even if you're not in a leadership position, Squad Leader/Fireteam Leader, help someone you see struggling. Have the firewatch wake you up five minutes before revelly. You'll be dressed when others are just wakng up.
You may not think your DIs won't notice but believe me, they will. I don't know if they still do it but because of my performance in recruit training I was " fsst tracked". I was Meritoriously promoted to Cpl a year out recruit training. I was Meritoriously promoted to Sgt a year later. Two years in the fleet and I was Sgt! If you want it bad enough, you'll do what it takes to achieve your goal.
Phil Quintana congratulations on your promotions
if that is the best your honor man did, your platoon sucked. 25 minutes is so close to failing. WTF. Honor man should be able to max fitness tests.
Now that I'm out of bootcamp, I so appreciate my Drill Instructors! They had to put up with so much sh*t lol 😂 I would have zero patience as a DI.
How was bootcamp like for u because I'm getting ready to be a poolee in a few weeks
@@demetriusarmstrong5154 Lol you'll find out 😂
@@marywaters6752 they said bootcamp not that bad
@@demetriusarmstrong5154 It's different for everyone
@@marywaters6752 truu n ion think bootcamp not going to be bad for me when I go down there
The small clips got me DED😂
I laughed harder than I should have when you kept saying “modeling”😂😂 but YES part 3 please !! These videos are really helpful, love your channel !❤️
Hello! I am seventeen and am very much considering the US Marine Corp. My fam has a ton of military history, and I'm praying I'll be part of that proud heritage. Your vids have really helped me. Thank you!
I was wandering what kept you motivated through difficult times like boot camp and your injury?
Catherine COOPER my husband kept me motivated for sure!! Letters from my family, my own personal desire to be honor grad kept me motivated as well
Savannah: “I’m not a tiny woman”
Me: sitting here 6’4 and 200 pounds half way off my bed trying to figure out how to make it threw boot camp
being 5'11 sucks for me, cant imagine how finding fit jeans is for you
sienna ohhhh trust me it sucks
Great video very helpful I'm planning on joining soon.
And yees i would love a part 3 😄😄 keep up the amazing work!!
Sasha Guerra good to hear thank you!❤️
Your videos are so helpful! Please make the what to wear to boot camp/have sent to you video soon because I am wondering & I ship out in less than 2 weeks!
Jane Dias good luck!
Jane Dias you go girl!!! Good luck!
when do you ship?? i leave in a little over a week!!
Please, Please, Pleasssse make a part 3! Also, I'm not sure if you have made a video about why you wanted to join the marines but that would be a great video and getting a feel on the kind of people that would best suit this branch compared to the others.
I watched your sock bun tutorial a while back, but didn't realize you had a legit channel. Thank DWK for me being here! I appreciate all the info as a female Poolee!
Your videos are honestly so helpful. I've learned so much through your videos, they ease the anxiety of Boot Camp. Love you❤❤
If you could, make that video about what to bring to bootcamp and what not for your family to send you.
Could you also talk about the do’s and Dont’s of what to have written and sent to you in boot camp
Jane Dias yes😊
I would love to see a part 3 or any video! I love your videos so much, I can't stop watching them!
Aghhh! YES! You made the second video! 😂 I appreciate this soooo much, it definitely puts some things into clarity for boot camp. I'm super excited for your video on things to bring to Parris Island!!! Many people I've talked to and watched on RUclips do not hit all the major points I've heard from different Marines. However, I'm really hyped for yours! Thank you again for giving us a better opportunity to prepare!!!
Yesss the what to wear to boot camp video! You’re really amazing and helpful❤️😊
Would love a video about what you can and can't have sent to you to make your life easier! I saw your earlier video where you filmed pre packaging items to have your family send to you and I wanted to do the same. When my brother was in army boot camp no one knew what to send to him. By the time he wrote telling us what we should send & he received it, he was over halfway done.
Hold on im no piece of crap civilian but I get your point sis 😏😂😂💁
Queen 99 Girl I said the same thing when she said it!!! 😂😂💀
Hi 👋 waw
I truly love your military based videos it motivates me more and more every time to want to become a marine! Thank you for all that you do :)
How is it going:) do you still want to be a marine or are you a marine
love your videos as always 😍 definitely do a part 3! Keep them coming...can't find any other female videos like yours. Thank you so much!
If you’re shipping out soon and your loved ones have Facebook, there’s a group called Parris Island Snapshots that they can join. They post pictures of recruit training on that page, so perhaps your loved ones can search up pictures of you as you go through bootcamp.
Also, tell them to send you letters. When I was in bootcamp, getting mail made me feel like a person, something you will probably feel like you’re less of when you’re in bootcamp. Tell them to send you pictures so you have something to look at. You don’t have to always write back, just let them know you’re okay because they will be worried about you. After all, your free time is on you.
Would you rather spend limited time writing a letter about what you’re doing in training that you will nonstop talk about in family day or graduation? Or would you rather be bettering yourself physically for the upcoming drill, PFT/CFT?
And if you’re ever feeling low (like, really really low), tell someone. It’s okay to feel like that, but don’t ever keep it to yourself. Talk to your rack mate about it or someone you can trust (Chaplain) If anything, you and your (soon-to-be) sisters are going through the same & just remember you aren’t going through it alone.
Don’t ever give up. 3 months of training is worth a career of a lifetime, if that’s what you’re going for :)
And don’t be selfish. Always work as a team. Scream loud, take initiative, be courageous. Run as fast as you can. Make your hair look good. If you notice your sister struggling, go to her & help. Stay close attention to detail. Do as you’re told. Stretch a lot and drink lots of water. At first, everyone will be coughing up. OH! If you able, tell your loved ones to send you plenty of bug spray. Trust me.
Wow this helps alotttt!! I just enlisted and lord I wanna be prepared 😭
I’m going to have a problem with not looking in the instructors eyes. I have always (when talking to someone) look them in the eye. Any tips on how to not do that?
Just do it. They'll get used to it eventually.
@@nochannel1q2321 I cant tell if your being cruel or serious.
What is the importance of this rule?
*significance
Keith Johnson thank you! That’s so awesome.
Hell yeah ! ENJOYED THIS VID. I can’t wait for the next vid of you explaining what to take & what parents can send you. Can you also talk about what to( somewhat )study before arriving ? & How was Firing week for you ?!
Sabrina Romero sure I can!
Yes I would love to see a part 3 my son is going to marine bootcamp on monday 23 at South Carolina! So would like to know more information what he can bring or not to bring! thank you! Love watching your channel! 👍🏻🙏🏼
Good luck to him!😊
i’m a standby shipper for september 23rd to leave to south carolina . all he needs is the clothes on his back. just jeans , belt, and a polo or dress shirt. make sure he brings a pocket sized address book for mailing who he writes to, a pocket sized bible if he’s religious, social security card, *make sure he wears glasses if he has contacts* he cannot go into bootcamp wearing contacts .
My son was also told to bring $20.
I CARE THAT YOU WERE GUIDE IN BOOTCAMP!!! means i should listen to your advice. ;)
I know you have an injury, and maybe have a guest and show how to train before bootcamp?
Heidi Tart ❤️
Also I was planning on joining too, i’ve been going to Marine PT on wednesday for the past couple months
Girl your intro is deep !! As hell! 😌😌
Please keep doing these! They are very informative. Make a part 3! Also could you make a video of what your first impression was the first week of boot camp?
Less than 8 days before I leave. I always come back to your videos. Thank you so much.
Your videos help sooooo much ! What kind of workouts should we be doing before boot camp? I’m running & going to Pt currently but Pt is only once a week. I know i’ll need the extra help lol
Thank you so much. I'm waiting to find out if I'll get accepted and trying to prepare in the meantime. Your awesome personality and voice really helps reduce stress when trying to think about all this. could you do a video on how to avoid getting dropped/sent home during boot camp? Too many kids from my recruiting are having that happen and it's unnerving. Please do the video about what your parents can send you in boot! Like which hygiene items can be sent. What is the largest size Bible you can safely bring? Also, how do you get paper, pen, and stamps to write home? Do you have to buy those there or can your parents send them? A video also going specifically into the mentality challenges you'll face and how to overcome them would be very helpful
Sorry - one more question. Do they provide you with the hairspray, gel, Bobby pins, ponytail holders and comb to do your bun?
Man these drill sergeant's funny as hell !!!!😂😂😂😂😭
Queen 99 they’re called Drill Instructors! Drill Sergeants are for the Army homie
@@savannahroseglembin well hell they funny as hell!!! Sis 😂😂
So may I bring my laptop, cellphone, and heels?? .....jk!!! Lol 🤣
I’m currently studying before joining the marines, and your videos are so helpful!!!
I leave Sunday❤️ gonna miss watching your videos and vlogs! Praying your pregnancy goes safely 🙏❤️
Can you do a video or give a few tips on how to prepare yourself for the physical aspects of boot camp for a female? I’m currently training with my recruiters, but there’s more I want to do on my own so I’m fully prepared.
Yes! Please do a what to bring to boot camp video love your videos ❤️💯
Please do a stuff that your parents can send to you in bootcamp vid !! I’m shipping October 7th so these videos are coming in handy ! Thank you so much 🙏🙏
Jc Bourbon coming up fast!!
What to bring to boot camp is definitely a video I’d be interested in watching.
Still waiting on the swim qualification video for people who can't swim lol sis
Queen 99 imma need to get a pool LMAO
@@savannahroseglembin ok sis 😂😂😂😂
Queen 99 * access to a pool I mean! One similar to which boot camp has
Can you make a video how we can get physically prepared for boot camp
Squirrel! :D :D Great video :)
Part 3 and more videos please!,so helpful😙
"What's up sir" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
"Run" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I’ve been watching a lot of your old videos pertaining to how you trained before boot camp. What kind of cardio did you do before you shipped out?
Your videos are so helpful btw, thanks beauty!!
Can you give tips on how to physically prepare yourself for boot camp ? Such as how to loose weight , how to reach the physical requirements, how to be and stay fit , etc.
can you pls make a part 3! i need to know about hair the styles
Can you do a video on how to improve crunches. I legit have abs and a strong core but I suuuuucccccckkkkkk at crunches😭🙏
A tip is to not do it with your neck or shoulders, use your core and just look up and breath right...i do yoga and we use our core alot to hold poses and that helps alot when i do core work
Keep doing the core exercises you're already doing, and then just add 50 or so of the crunches to your workout. Find something to wedge your toes under and just practice, you'll be up to 110 in no time
True or just put some weights on your toes
now when you say free time how often do we get that a week? i leave for boot today and idk how to feel 😂
Daniella Duff how was boot camp ?
Haha ok the music was amazing 👍🤣🤣
I heard you aren't allowed to join if you have asthma, is that true? I was looking forward to joining! Great video by the way!
Could you make a video on a workout video that would be helpful to get prepared for bootcamp?
please do the video on what to bring to boot camp!!
I’m trying to learn as much as I can before I leave for boot. I ship out in 9 months
Dr.Blanket Boots learn how to hydrate. Stretch a lot. Work on pull-ups e v e r y d a y. Run whenever you can. Get sleep. Stay motivated. Remember why you want to become a United States Marine!
Hey girl! I’m 5’8” too and uhhh a little more than 150lbs😆 I haven’t talked to a recruiter yet, but what are the weight restrictions? I’m physically fit, just heavy.
125 -171 lbs. Just keep running and work on your pull ups!
I would love to see that video!
Omg I felt so bad for the guy who wasn't in shape in your clip
Poor sweetie 😭
The part 2 video was so helpful with the questionable information you gave. It was also much better because you chose not to use as much offensive language. That and especially using G.. D... so much didn't make you more of an expert. Just the way you sensibly informed others kept their attention and appreciation of the person you are..... Thank you for your channel.
My recruiter had me swear in but I’m not exactly 100% physically fit. So I’m worried for marine boot camp lol
for those of you who are shipping or having someone shipped go to recruitparents.com for more info ! i’m also in the delayed entry program !! i’m standby for September 23rd but definitely shipping October 21
I've been sick for months, god a bad infection and I can't prepare and I'm so pissed. I can't even prepare for the test that determines if I get employed or not. I'm so scared
Can you make a video on how you trained preparing before boot camp? Thanks!
Yes yes yes please do what to bring to boot camp
Do they give you your prescription for glasses (I’m assuming no contacts)?
Glenda Davis yes they do!
My countries bootcamp is a lot less difficult and straining but genders are together and I as woman I don't want to just pass, I wanna be good. I'll take all the advice I can get
yes! what to bring to boot camp would be so helpful! i heard you can bring a brush and hair gel. is this true?
SOL hell no!
SOL come with your hair in a bun!
@@savannahroseglembin a slick back bun or side parted bun? i see different styles.
@@savannahroseglembin what was your experience as a FEMALE marine, because right now im doing PT with my RSS and well im 1 out of 3 females. its weird? or uncomfortable. was it ever hard to be taken seriously?
At 8:30, “Don’t eye ballin me...?!”
yes we would like that type of video
I have a question so after you complete all training for all years you signed for when can you officially leave training and go back to living normally?
Wow you're funny! I believe it's a rarity because my bf is in the marines and it's hard to find him at his funniest moment.
What if you’re on the nexplanon? It’s a birth control implant on the arm will I have to take it off?
leslye herrera no you can have that!❤️
@@savannahroseglembin What do you do if you take a prescription that keeps you alive?
nth if you require a medication like that, you’re probably not eligible to join the military
What do I need to do to start prepping for basic? I’m not gonna be able to enlist for another year or so (not longer then a year and half) anything will help!!!! I just need any tips and advice and anything!!!
Part 3 please!
I’m getting a tattoo that is inspired by you and angel ❤️
Trinity Lynn what’re you thinking?!
Savannah Glembin it says “fearless” to represent how fearless military women are! You two both inspired me to join the military and now I am in the reserves and after high school I’m going full time!
I'm watching this because my best friend is in boot camp, and I'm curious about what she's doing all day.
Yes I would love for you to do that type of video
What to bring to boot camp
Are you given insect repellent or anything for like ticks or mosquitoes?
Hey i leave for boot camp on oct 7th i wanted to know if i can have hair products such as shampoo and gel shipped to me without me getting in trouble?
Chenel Douglas yes!
i leave oct 7th as well! 💪🏻💪🏻
F T awesome! Did you get your company as yet? Im papa 1
What do you suggest doing to get fit before bootcamp?
Could you or anyone in general really, tell me certain exercises to do and and also things to eat as well, I want to go into the military fresh out of high school and I’m trying to prepare now.
what happens if you are a female and are having your period? how... how does that work or play out in boot camp?
I start the USNSCC on October 26th and I have to be able to do 15 push-ups but I can’t even do one!! Any tips?
Do, or do not. There is no try.
part 3 yes
Can we bring one picture of our family or our significant other?
Emely Alonzo tape it in a bible and bring it with you!
This from a old Marine. 1959 MCRDSD. During the first couple of weeks I wanted to kill Sgt. Roberts. At that time our packs were on the end of the bunk and they had a tab that you attached your bayonet to. I told myself that I would sneak into the duty hut after light out and bury it into he chest. What prevented that was they kept us so busy that we were asleep within seconds after lights out. Thanks for your posts as you are very organized and articulate. You will accomplish much in life and all the best to you and your husband.
I would like to see ideally what you can and cant bring to basic training
What she said in the video is honestly and literally the ONLY things you could bring with you. Yourself, the clothes you're wearing and an ID. There is nothing else you should bring. No what if I need this or that. Those 3 things only. No phone. No watch. Just the stuff she said.
@@sofiad3780 She's since given exceptions. For example if you have a prescription which keeps you alive you're either going to need to bring the prescription filled or the prescription to have filled there.
I am 15 and I want to become a marine is there any tips
Oh my god I live Doug🥰😍
Any tips for joining as a female while in a relationship?
Do you have a workout video of what to expect?
💯💯💯
At 4:58 i doubletaked because i thought your car started moving
Would love a video on what clothes to wear to bootcamp. Also, what can my husband send me in the mail? And what about my phone?
I’m actually thinking about becoming a marine so it would be great to know what not to bring with me
Abby Powers you bring absolutely nothing, just yourself, appropriate attire, that’s it. You can get your loved ones to send you things. If they send food, it cannot be just for you, it has to be enough for the whole platoon or else they confiscate it until after you’ve earned the title of a United States Marine
oh yeah, bring your ID and SS card
Thanks for the heads up
What if you struggle with severe acne !? Can you have your parents ship you like face medication
Why cant one look a drill instuctor in the eye?
What happens if you cut your hair short or if you have asthma
Arianna Reed you can’t have asthma in the military!
