One kid had candy sent to him and the DI made us eat ALL of it. It was a shit ton of candy. Sounds really fun at first but when you are being forced to shove massive amounts of candy down your throat after not having candy for 2 months, a lot of us got sick lol
Former Marine (96-03). I love watching your videos and seeing your journey unfold. I get to relieve my experiences all over again through you. A video, I'd like to see and I'm sure others will to, is CHECK IN to your FIRST UNIT. How was the check in process? Impressions of the base, The Unit, your shop etc.... What your daily work routine is like...etc.
I am seriously considering joining. But I don’t think I could mentally do it. Physically I can train for it. But mentally that’s hard to do ya know? Any tips to start being able to change my mindset?
Great video and greetings from across the pond! Totally off topic but its frustrating me, what's the song playing in the background? I Can't work it out
Hey 😊 So I have a question. My boyfriend is currently in Boot Camp training for the marines and I'm currently interested in signing up too. Would this cause a problem in the relationship if we are both enlisted? Will we be stationed near by or in different areas depending on our MOS? Just curious? Thank you ♥
My {now ex} actually told me that I’m not joining the Marine Corps because it would put stress on our relationship and that’s just not okay. For me, that was heartbreaking but also solidified that we were never going to last, and he got through MCT, back home, and left again to finish his training before we broke up. I’m quite young considering I’m still in HS, and have been starting going to PT’s at my closest recruiting office recently and it’s been great! I’ve known my recruiter for a while now considering my ex had the same one, and he constantly pushes me to be my best and I’ve never looked back! I’m close friends with countless girls who have gone through the same thing and have earned the title of USM and they constantly reinforce how important it is that I do this for me and my future and whatever reasons I’m joining, and no one else.
Hey I was wondering if you could do a video on preventing injury while running? I found out this week that I've been selected to go to officer candidate school this summer! And I generally do okay with the pt, I do the maximum pull ups and crunches, but I just can't seem to get the run down past 24 minutes, and it seems like I'm always in pain or hurting myself. Like I just recovered from a stress fracture in the neck of my femur, and I always have shin splints. I stretch and foam roll on a regular basis, so I was wondering what else I could try to do to prevent injury?
Are you still in Pensacola? I could really use some help. I'm a senior at Milton High School (literally right next to Pensacola) and I could really like some advice from a female marine. My dream is to become a marine myself and I'm trying to build up my confidence, self reliance, and challenge my self. Please let me know if you're available. It's ok if you cant. Thank you :)
Our honor grad was not the most fit person. You need to be a person that shows vast improvement and change in all aspects of your character to be considered. At least that's how ours was chosen. Ours started off as a shy timid kid and ended as an extremely confident and knowledgeable leader. You never would've thought this kid had any leadership capabilities at all when we first started. Physical fitness is just one small part of possibly being honor grad. One small piece.
I want to go into the marines but my parents keep trying to make me change my mind. And whenever they ask me why I choose the Marine Corps I am always at lost for an answer besides 'because I want to honor and serve my country'. What should I do? Honor and serve or listen to my family and go into the Air Force?
greenfame. aaliyahgreen I understand where you’re coming from. My dad is a navy vet and my brother is a navy medic. The training that the marine corps puts you through is the longest and the toughest. But the marines works at all certain level of excellence that I want to be at. Don’t let anyone talk you out of it. You go do it!
You'll get this thing called a "Mesh Bag" and it's full of certain items and you'll also get hygiene products so you'll have your own pads and tampons. And there's tons of girls who won't have their periods, so they'll put their extra stuff in the Head in the footlocker in there. So don't worry bout that
Just stumbled onto your channel! So glad to see a female marine on youtube! Thanks so much!

Can you make a video on how you train? What types of training that help you achieve optimal fitness, endurance, and strength?
Lot of running,

Latin Doll I don't think it'll be a problem. He could actually use you as a referral. And yes i believe it just depends on your mos

Are you still in Pensacola? I'm enlisting and my MOS will be aviations. How is it there?

What's your height?
What advice would you give to someone who wants to become honor grad? What were the physical expectations as guide?
Christopher Bockover (Student) Thanks for the input! Had NO idea you had to lead! Also thanks for answering the questions you weren’t asked.

You want my advice? Join the Air Force!

If you get a period during boot camp, what do you do if you need more pads and tampons
You'll get this thing called a "Mesh Bag" and it's full of certain items and you'll also get hygiene products so you'll have your own pads and tampons. And there's tons of girls who won't have their periods, so they'll put their extra stuff in the Head in the footlocker in there. So don't worry bout that
Do we get sleep before taking the ist?
Yes and HYDRATE the day before. Get a buddy and ask for a Head Call and fill them canteens and DRINK. Remember to stay fucking hydrateddd
Why didn’t anyone make a vid like this when I went to Paris Island in 09?
Why do you always cut off your videos? Edit your videos better, I'm so interested in what you're saying then it stops😭
I was on the swim team freshman-junior year of high school is that enough?
No
Semper
What are the min standards for the initial fitness test when you get to Parris Island
