Soup is one of my favorite things to make. I get joy chopping the veggies, layering the flavors. Soups are always a pot of love from start to finish. I’m so glad to hear that young woman’s is now in family’s loving arms. Hallelujah 🙌🏻

Store bought crusts are very thin compared to making a fresh one and can burn up quickly. I would also bake it at 425 for 10 minutes then reduce it to 350 to bake the rest of the time. I also cover my crusts once the temp is reduced and then towards the end I will uncover it to brown it more. The only concern would be if the bottom pie crust cooked long enough :) I would also fill the pie crust a tad less than what you did to prevent the crust from breaking apart

I like your pot pie recipe. Mine always comes out too juicy or too dry. Thank you for the tip of adding flour. And I like your tip on how to clean the bottom of the Caraway pots. I’ll make sure to clean mine with the baking soda.

Thank you for being so transparent! Little things like the toasted crust happen to all of us and you just learn a little from it and move on. 😉 You are absolutely right about the dough being a little dried out too! Note to self...

Life happens, you have made pot pies many times and they come out perfectly.

I have planned to make chicken pot pie on Thursday. I have 2 chicken breasts that need to be used up.
So glad Jeri's daughter was found.

I've been so hungry for chicken pot pie. I have meat from rotisserie chicken in the freezer...I think it's time it made its way into a pie. Pure comfort food! I started skipping the bottom crust several years ago. We don't miss it! Oh, I also add celery seed to filling. Adds a nice flavor. That pie you made looked good...edges and all! Soup looked delicious!

Terri, when I looked in that oven and saw those dark edges. Oh my goodness. I just let the time get away and trying to “do things live”. I bet I’ll put the collar on as soon as I put it in the oven next time. Hahaha!
