We live in sunny Southern California and to beat the heat we have changed our daily routine a little. We focus more on getting outside with my toddler and four month old before it gets hot and then do more indoor activities in the afternoon. For example, we read our books, do puzzles, color, any type of crafts, and more indoor focused play in the afternoons. If we are wanting to get out but it’s too hot we have tried to find indoor activities that we can do in the afternoon. We go to an indoor mall near us that is not very busy on the weekdays. Let the toddler walk “all by himself” and enjoy being out without being hot.
I’m in the process of downsizing to a smaller home because having a bigger home can really be overwhelming to keep up with. I’ve had some health problems the last year and I’m just over it! I’ll be ready for a smaller pantry and closets, etc. I can’t wait to have more time to do some other things. :)
Magadoodles are great when kids need distraction. Sometimes it’s good to have some special quiet activities to do that are only for the specific event. Purposely make sure it’s not available the rest of the week. Stickers and sticker books are a good idea too.
Yes I can. I'm gradually getting back into things and the waterbath is an easy thing for me to do...the pressure canning? I'm a newbie but you cn follow my journey, so yes. I'll get these things on the calendar.
That is a great idea. My husband does this for when he goes fishing but this would also be great for at home. I tend to just grab a glass of water but I do like the idea of a frozen bottle to sip from. It would thaw gradually.
We are in the panhandle of Florida. It is scorching. Trying not to use gas stove, as it heats up so much. Using crockpot, electric pressure cooker or air fryer more. Staying hydrated. Keeping out animals well watered!
Oh wow! I'm glad you are being proactive. I didn't think to mention water for animals when we were talking. We do need to be concerned for them as well.
Can you do more pantry prepping/ inventory? Maybe some canning videos? I enjoy your channel!
Sure thing!
Hi Denise 😊 catching replay today! It’s nice to see you. ❤
The Cross Legacy did a video on how to choose a cantaloupe and what storage makes it last longer. It is under ten minutes long.

Freeze water bottles to have cold water later in the day.
