Hi Homemakers. Please don't be appalled when you see my totally out of control kitchen. I started to just clean it up and go but then I thought some of you might need to see that real life happens at my house too. Life isn't always neat like on an Instagram story. I hope it proves helpful and please...tell me what tip was most useful to you. Leave me a note in the comments.

Even living alone as I do, messy kitchens happen, and what a relief it is to get going and clean and tidy it all.

You are so right, Denise! Family time is more important. I can think of the past when some of us were in the kitchen doing clean-up and we could hear a lot of laughter, teasing, jokes, etc, and we missed out on that fun. This was good information for newer homemakers and a reminder for those who are more seasoned. Happy 2024!

🎉 Happy 2024 Mrs. Denise n family. Mam I truly am on board with you . Enjoying the Christmas festivities can be Very Enjoyable but let me say that afterwards WOW. REALITY (lol)! My Daughter treated myself n my bestie n her daughter n my granddaughter ALSO to the COLOR PURPLE Opening 😊. I must say that I enjoyed it n we all had a great time . My daughter bought VIP tickets that accommodated All of us with unlimited popcorn, soda n slushes n ice cream as well. Can you imagine that. I really enjoyed myself because I hadn’t been to the movies since the Pandemic 😢. But I’m glad I was able to down that quality time with my daughter, granddaughter n bestie n her daughter ❤. Ok Mrs. Denise, I’ve talked enough have a great rest of your day from Fresno California 😊

This is too funny! My daughter treated us to tickets. she ordered them well in advance and told us to get purple shirts which I did. My husband grumbled about wearing purple but the did. NOw h might not every wear it again but it was fun. And so many friends were there for the opening night. Just fun. But yeah! The aftermath of that kitchen! Whew. But you know what? Young homemakers need to see that even we seasoned homemakers sometimes get messy!

Denise, this was definitely a great video! But all that extra cooking and cleaning was the number one reason why I didn't care to celebrate holidays for the last past two years! That allowed me to spend more time with My Children, because I didn't give all my precious time to cooking, and they were all on board about the whole situation.

Denise I am back again! I can't believe it. I had a major surgery I had to have my kidney removed so when I came home from the hospital I didn't get a chance to go in my kitchen when I finally did I wanted to cry I just went back upstairs until I got me enough strength and I went downstairs and clean my kitchen the way I wanted it to be clean my son really tried😢 I can't believe how you came into my life and help the sister out😂❤❤❤❤

Sometimes you’ve just gotta take a breath. Put on your apron. Make a plan and get started. Going back upstairs was the right move for you because you needed to recover your energy. Once you have the energy you can get started. I’m glad my tips were helpful.

Now and then, we all put the kitchen tasks on hold while people come first. Sometimes, I'm simply too tired to tackle it, and I simply tidy to the point of putting food away and piling dishes neatly in the sink, and take care of them in the morning. I'm a morning person, and late nights are difficult, but morning, I'm on it! Glad you had such an enjoyable Christmas with some of your sweet family. And Happy New Yearr!

Terri, it was so nice. I did miss my youngest son and his family but you know, what it is is what it is. I saw them at Thanksgiving and we did a FaceTime. I, too, am a morning person. I am the Energizer Bunny but come evening time...the battery is about wore out! Morning worked better for me anyway.

Great tips. CookingatPam'sPlace said that most people load the dishwasher wrong. If the jets are in the middle half of them should face one way and the other half face the opposite way. She has also been doing useful food recalls. There have been more now than all the 44 years I've been alive.

The one thing I wish I had is a dishwasher, I honestly think that's why I hate the kitchen having to wash dry and put away is a task. I noticed that we have the same cookware by Curtis Stone, it's my favorite and easy clean up.

And yes...it does throw me off when I skip my evening routine but there was a certain amount of peace to being the only one up for an hour or so and getting things started. When you are used to just being two and then to have a house full, whereas it is nice, it is different. Hahaha! Did you see his hand when he handed me a dish? I couldn’t help but notice the Scotty cookie jar. We have the exact same one. I’m curious- are you a Scottish Terrier family? Our little guy Doc (Holiday) looks just like the jar. Be blessed!

Hi Diana, I like to see how other women do things too. And nope...I don't have a dog but when I was a girl I saw Greyfriars Bobby...a movie about a little terrier and I always wanted one. My daughter had to little one named Cinnamon and Spice and I bought little black dog cookie jars for her and the white one for me. I change my scotty's ribbon depending on the season. Hahaha!

I totally agree with putting on an apron to get the mindset for getting the job done, I've done that for years, I also use rubber gloves, my hands can't take the detergents like when I was younger.
I'm going to look into those casserole/roasting pan cleaning pods!
