I like your tip for using a bucket and trash bag to clean toilet brushes and plungers. 😊
Glad it was helpful! And using the bucket does give me a place to clean the brushes as much as possible.
Lovely sounds of cleaning! Reminds me of my mom when I was little and she was cleaning on Saturdays.
Oh, thank you. I toyed with the idea of putting music in to cover the natural sounds up but decided to just let you hear as much as possible. I'm glad you appreciated the natural sounds of cleaning. I'll be sure to do more of that when possible. I am at a disadvantage sometimes when Hubby "is in his element." I can't always mute him. He will be quiet if I ask but I hate to ask it of him too often. We both share this space and he says "I film everything." Of course, that's not true, but to his perspective it is. Hahaha.
@@homemakingwithdenise Hahaha! I totally understand about sharing the space. Your video was such a surprise when I heard the cleaning sounds. My mom has passed recently and I just nearly cried with the emotions of remembering her cleaning. She worked so hard. Thank you for bringing back good memories. You are truly a wonderful lady.
Great tip for cleaning toilet brushes! Great tips for keeping your bathroom clean in general!! Tfs 😊❤️
I guess I better get to clean my bathroom like this amazing job
Great tips on cleaning the toilet brushes I well apply them to my cleaning routine
I am glad the toilet brush tip was helpful. I just can't afford to toss them too often so I try to clean them as best as I can with discretion. It can be tricky. I do try to replace them annually.
I'm getting so that I cannot stand on the sides of the tub anymore, to fasten and unfastened my shower curtain liner. So I let it go awhile ... then in desperation, I take the cleaner bottle into the shower with me. Spray the liner, wipe it by holding it firm with one hand while wiping it with a sponge with the other hand. Then rinse off with the shower hose sprayer . Works fairly well. BTW, I stand on a really good suction bath mat while I do that, as the cleaner solution overspray can
make the tub slippery.
Very helpful video thank you
An excellent tutorial! Also, someone was smart to put dark grout between floor tiles. I have tiny tiles in two bathrooms, and have had to get on hands and knees, scrub brush in hand, and have tackled it with cleaner that has hydrogen peroxide in it. Approaching 80, bad knees, I won't be doing that much anymore. Even though I've now hired a friend to help every other week, some things just need extra attention I wouldn't expect her to do.
Oh yeah! I am right there with you. Too old to be crawling around too much. Getting into those corners behind the commode was bad enough. And my husband is older and stiffer than I am so he would struggle to do it as well. At 72 and 74...we have to pick what and how much gets done.
You do not look 72.. i must have misunderstood your comment.@@homemakingwithdenise
@homemakingwithdenise Thank you so much for this video. I working a 8-4 job and I be mental exhausted when I get home. Trying to do the zone cleaning method and I'm here to tell you I don't know what I'm doing end up cleaning something in other area of the home that was not on the list. This 63 soon to be 64 old yrs women be tried. I try prep planning meals on Sunday sometime it happens and sometime it don't. More let Mondays SMH. I don't like having to clean on the weekends that's my down time.
I love these kind of videos. I do not watch any live videos so it's always a treat when it is a taped video. Is great job. Very encouraging.
Glad you enjoyed it! Why don't you watch live videos? They can be fun other than they usually take 30 to 45 minutes. I don't mind watching a live video if I have the time.
I use a hooked clothes pin to hold the shower curtain liner away from the tub for it to air dry after use. I used the hanging shower caddy that goes over the shower head to hook it on.
I am so envious of your organization. I had a lumbar fusion 4 weeks ago. I have 2 more weeks before I can bend, twist or lift more than 10 lbs.
Thank goodness for gloves!
The clothes pin is a great hack. When the shower curtain liner rests against the tub...that moisture promotes mildew. I will say I did put the shower curtain liner in the dryer for a few minutes to get some of the moisture off it after i took it out of the wash and once I hang it back up, I pull the curtain all the way across to dry thoroughly. I'm surprised at the number of people who didn't know they could wash those shower curtain liners. I am sending God's grace and healing to you in regards to your lumbar fusion. I hope you return to good movement and as much flexibility as possible.
Girl, yes! I'm not squeamish about much but I don't like spit and I don't like to put my hands in nasty toilet water. Now, this is coming from the woman who had babies in the day when everyone used cloth diapers and you had to rinse them out in the toilet. I keep disposable gloves at hand for just those purposes.
Omg! So glad I found your channel. I really want to get back on my cleaning system this year. When you mention zones are you using the fly lady system? Also I love your tip for cleaning the plunger and brush! Brilliant!
Hi Tiffany, thank you so much for stopping by. Yes…I use the Flylady Cleaning System as modified by Flylady Kat. The zones are pretty standard. Zone 1 Entryway, Dining room, porch and patio. Anyway you enter your home and many dining rooms are right off the entryway. Zone 2 Kitchen. Zone 3 Main bath and one other room. Zone 4 master bedroom, master bath, master bedroom closets. Zone 5 Living room and family room. These correspond to the weeks on the calendar. Week 1 Zone 1. Week 2 Zone 2. Week 3 Zone 3. Week 4 Zone 4. Week 5 Zone 5. Flylady Kat does have a video on how to get started with the Flylady Cleaning System. Now that being said, I realize that I need to do this for my peeps. Don’t you just love Nakisha? She’s giving us real value.
@@homemakingwithdenise thank you! This is so helpful! Taking a screenshot. Will definitely be tuned in if you do a newbie video 🥰 Yes I love Nakisha, I’m so grateful for this group and all the amazing women in there 🙏🏾
I just wanted to know how would you go about washing something that is black and white. It says wash with like colors but I don't have many other shirts that are black and white. Thanks.
Wash the shirt alone or with medium to light colors. Not whites and not blacks. Heres a video I did that may help…ruclips.net/user/shortsVCStDcMAZSI?si=ikqW-tE-J7NDG9ya
How often do you replace the shower curtian liner
I havent replaced the liner in several years. I throw it in the wash and it comes out clean, odor free, and mold-free. As long as it’s in good condition I see no need to replace it.
If only I were able to spend 15 min doing anything in my house, OCD brain tells me that I have to do a deep clean everyday 🤦🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️
If that's what works for you, go for it. I will typically do one deep clean in my zones each day. However, for this video, I wanted to act as if I were a working mom who only had the weekend to get things done. As you can see, I was exhausted by the end of the session. Thank you so much for watching and commenting.
Those are, indeed, the nasty chores. Gotta be done though.
I do not have the energy to tackle all that
Linda, I don't usually have that energy. I will admit, I did have to rest in-between bathrooms. My hair was a mess. It kept falling. I was sweaty and took a well-deserved rest when done but...I wanted the homemakers who work outside the home and cant do the one task-a-day thing to see what it might look like. But girl, let me tell you...I was exhausted as you could plainly see!
God bless all your efforts to show and tell young homemakers. @@homemakingwithdenise
@@homemakingwithdenise you are so amazing at what you do. Great video. I will get your energy Lol! Love the bucket and trash bag for clean the brush and plunger. I will start to do this in my clean bathroom
