Every woman needs to understand that from a man’s perspective, he is the captain of his ship that is sailing the seas of life. He invites a woman to join him on his journey as his primary helper, to help him in the cabin (house), the crew (children) and general navigation. He invites her onboard so together they can have a better journey than being alone, so he can travel farther, and eventually leave a trail of other similar captains with their ships who can sail on without them.
No man who wants a wife-for-life invites her onboard so he can dedicate his life to making her feel happy. He does not invite her onboard because he needs more drama - the normal storms of life are drama enough. No man in his right mind invites a woman onboard to abscond with half of the cargo of his ship, to lead a mutiny, or run off with his crew at the next port.
This is the general idea of what is automatically in the mind of a man who seeks a life-time commitment to marriage. Sadly, most modern women think that they have their own ship to sail, and this leads to shipwrecks.

I wrote this to explain to my wife where our thinking was different. I assumed it was just a common background understanding. Boy was I wrong! This illustration or others like it need to be taught again and again. It is simply the working out of 1 Cor. 11:8-9 "Man does not originate from woman, but woman from man; 9 for indeed man was not created for the woman’s sake, but woman for the man’s sake."

Wow well said. And I praise Kelli for this content it is still relevant and God's way no matter what society says. I too was just reminded by the Holy Spirit that I was forgetting my husband as I am focusing on the newborn and toddler. I looked at my husband and for the first time in months I really saw him like HIM HIM and it broke my heart it was like he too was just going along accepting being neglected cuz of the babies. We immediately addressed it. Went into prayer, talked, then u know what and it was GREAT! We both feel so fresh now. I commit to never "forgetting" him again, it's all about him of course both submitted to God first.

@ThatsWhat-She. Marriage as "equal partners" is a delusion. Men and women are not equal, and this is why women practice hypergamy. A high-quality woman is one who joins a man on his journey, improves his life, and benefits from his hard work. (Granted, there are the exceptions who have personal reasons to be single, but they would be truly single, not promiscuous.)
Modern civilization will collapse because it requires strong, masculine leadership. Islam’s strength is not its theology, Islam is strong because it practices patriarchy (often in gross excess). Christianity was originally a gentle patriarchy, and it nearly conquered the world (yes, it also had its flaws). When Christianity abandoned patriarchy in the early 1900s it very quickly lost its world dominance. Strong men make strong families and strong social and cultural norms. When the current rotted matriarchal social systems collapse, patriarchy will return. The only question is whether it will be a gentle patriarchy grounded in Christianity or the Islamic form that is currently ascending. Delusions are always ultimately crushed by reality.

I love that you’re happy living life in biblical roles. As a man with a daughter, I’d like to give some advice to other ladies considering doing the same. When choosing a husband, use more than just your emotion, also use discernment. If he doesn’t demonstrate that God and his Christian beliefs are foremost in his life before you are married, you need to be prepared to break it off - even if your heart doesn’t want to. He needs to demonstrate by his actions and not just words that he is dedicated to live up to his biblical role as a husband, protector and provider. So, women - choose wisely and be certain that Christ is the center of his life and, by default, Christ will be the center of your happy marriage and loving family.

The only advice my Dad gave me was "Don't marry someone because he is good looking".
No guidance on what to look for, whatsoever.
Funnily enough, I never asked him what I should look for either.
I was too young at the time to even be thinking about marriage, so wasn't really interested.
My niece is 10, goes to a Christian school and is religious, I shall pass on your advice to her when the time comes.
Last time I saw her we had a chat about husbands. She already knows what she wants.
She said her husband would smell of engine oil, (her Dad goes to vintage tractor shows) and have a beard, but with bald patches in it.
I can't wait for her wedding day and will buy them a can of engine oil as a wedding gift :)
I wonder if she will remember that conversation. Hilarious.

I got married 3 years ago. And right after strongly felt convicted to leave the job . It took my almost a year to submit to God. I was battling feelings of not being worthy because I didn’t make any money. That I will lose all control and won’t be respected by others etc.
But When I quit I felt huge weight off of my chest. And peace. It took my a while to fully surrender and adapt the new position but now I see it as a privilege. My husband didn’t forced me , he gave me a choice . And God lead me to stay home. We don’t have kinds yet . The time I have allows me to serve people at my church, also volunteering in Christian Organization.
We don’t have a lot of money. It is enough for us to live and be content . I am very grateful for this ! God is truly amazing ❤ I finally feel like a woman . I am fulfilled. By the grace of God I died to my own dreams and accomplishments. I had to fast and pray. I was compering myself with others who are working and having careers but finally found full peace ! This video is a confirmation to me that it was Gods desire for my life. So He is glorified as I prayed to be the woman He wants me to be for His Kingdom.

A proverbs 31 woman works!!! Read proverbs 31: 16,18 and 31: 24 Actually read all of proverbs 31.... slowly and carefully. She is supposed to help her husband as far as keeping the home and children, but also help the entire community and work. She is not made just to tend after her husband.
16- She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.
18-She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp does not go out at night.

I love your heart and agree with this partly. I agree we are to submit to our husband's and respect them, but I would like to bring up why we don't see this in marriage. I'm an older christian woman so hopefully that will give some credibility to what I write.
I think where this can slip into the extreme is that God says to the woman that as part of the curse her desire will be for her husband and he would rule over her. This ruling over the woman behavior is in many marriages. If a husband has a healthy love for his wife and loves her as Christ loves the church then submission becomes easier and a joy, but when there isn't a sacrificial love given then a women can lose her identity and be abused. The Father has an identity for each of us male and female. As the Proverb 21 woman carried out her duties she made executive decisions and was well rounded in her responsibilities. She had a healthy knowing of who she was and gave from a place of being known and loved. I believe the issue is only solved when both husband and wife live a self sacrificial life.

For the wives who are in the season, knowing that they are called to come home but don’t have a husband who is in alignment, it took me years to come home. It began with the call on my heart and then combating my own flesh not wanting to do that. Then when I would give in a little bit I dealt with my husband not seeing the vision or feeling the call. This went on for some time. However, God will not give a vision to one and separate a husband/ wife. Pray. Once you’ve come to a place where you’re willing to come home and desiring to do so, begin to serve your husband well and pray that the lord would give him a heart of flesh and would begin to see signs and visions of his goodness in this call. God does miracles and he doesn’t work on our timing. His timing is beautiful.

I appreciate your thoughts on the topic. Just some thoughts on my end - One of the first commands God gives humanity is to be fruitful and multiply, subdue the earth and fill it. Eve was a suitable helper for Adam because only a woman could help Adam in fulfilling this command. God could have spoken more people into existence, but instead He allows us as human beings, both men and women, to partake in this shared mission to create new life, with women having the special honour of carrying that new life into the world. Together, as humans, we are to love God, care for one another and cultivate the Earth. I don’t think Eve was created for Adam to cook and clean for him so that he can pursue "his mission". The mission of a husband and a wife is a shared one. When it comes to creating a household, I think husbands and wives are both equally responsible for that. How you divide up the roles/tasks will vary from couple to couple.

After the last couple years of the Lord sanctifying us and changing our desires to follow His, we stepped out on faith, and i recently quit my job. By the world's standards, I was crazy to do it. But we're trusting His plan, and our marriage has never been better, even if we have to be super frugal. I've tried staying home without children and struggled with lonelines a lot. I was not involved with the church, so I didn't have a support system. I also didn't have the mindset of helping my husband specifically. It was more about me trying to homestead and work on our small side business. I went back to work after not working outside the home briefly. I don't feel as lonely since then and have started getting more involved with my church. I also am giving more of my life over to Christ and that has helped me heal in some areas that needed healing. But I know I neglect helping my husband and home because much of my time and energy go towards my job. In trying to find a solution and happy middle ground, I wonder if going part time would be beneficial. I could still get regular human interaction and at the same time have more time and energy to devote to my husband and household.

I could never understand why they didn't just leave and go an do voluntary work or join an evening class if they wanted to meet people. Seemed a better way to me than putting up with a miserable boss.

Thank you! I’m a newlywed housewife of 2 months so far, I worked the whole 6 years we’ve been together but my husband and I knew that my calling was to be a homemaker. Once we married, my husband and I sat down discussed finances, luckily finances allow me to stay at home for him. I quit my healthcare job in February 2024 to start studying homemaking and preparing for it. We married in May 2024 and moved in together the same month.
I’m still trying to find my routine, trying to figure out how GOD wants me to act and be. These videos are SO helpful, there’s so many people out there that judge homemakers. Knowing that GOD has appointed me to care for my husband and home helps me not take the judgment to heart.
I think the hardest thing for me is discipline, keeping myself from worldly things and keeping myself from getting lost in the worlds wants. I know GOD is keeping me on the right track though
If there are any other newlywed Christian housewives out there, let’s be friends! 😊

Congratulations on your marriage❤🎉 And I’m a homemaker with 3 toddlers I work for my husband and I’s business but from home and it’s mainly paperwork, excel spreadsheets, Word documents etc. My advice to you is first saturate yourself with God’s Word especially the ones that talk about homemaking and not being like the world. Keep praying for God to deliver you from people’s opinions, and vain philosophies when they know not the LORD neither do they regard the things of the LORD but you do and so you’ll always be weird to them and that’s ok. Also do not waste time explaining why you and your husband are living the way you do because you are to submit to your husband’s authority in everything as unto the LORD so you’re not doing anything wrong. But still people will not understand I would share very little if they ask directly tell them but keep it simple and short and move the conversation along. Give the Word every time and they will back off. Stand firm on what you’re saying too. Be bold as a lion but harmless as a dove. Serve your husband without fear! You’re in God’s will for your life and He will keep you! Don’t worry! ❤❤❤

I’m glad you’re addressing this. It is time for women to return home to their families. If you have to live poor, that’s ok. There is blessing in being poor. You get to see God show up and provide for you! You always end up closer to God when you experience need and must rely on Him…. So many give their children to strangers to be raised In order to work for a bigger house, a better car, etc… It is time to return to being mom, wife, home maker. I was blessed to have that opportunity. I am now going to college and I’m going into my 40s soon. But what I have learned is that I am not fulfilled working full time outside on the home because it doesn’t give me time to do what God has designed me to do, and that is care for my home and family. I LOVE getting an education and career but I will only be the helper not the main bread winner, so that I can continue to do what truly fulfills my soul. My kids are almost grown. One day I will have grandkids and I will take care of them also. I think we are also being called to return to caring for our extended family! As in, grandparents stop being SO OPPOSED to helping your children raise their children! That is your blood! Set your mind to it now and when you have grandchildren you will be ready to come along side your very own children to help them raise theirs. Parenting is hard, and we need one another! We have become such a selfish society.
All this said, I do not judge any woman who HAS TO work. God knows your need and he will bless your home and your work. He is faithful and good to us, he will always make a way and he will fill in the gaps if you allow Him to.

I have been slowly changing over our 15 years of marriage (crazy to think it has been that long already). I was one of the women that quit my job after having my first kid almost 13 years ago (and now we have 7). I was definitely a workaholic so it was a big deal when I quit my job. I felt the Lord telling me to. It was one of our first leaps of faith. I did eventually go back to work because I started worrying about the money... then later quit again after losing our 3rd baby 21 weeks into the pregnancy.
Christian homes just don't talk about these things. A lot of these things you talk about my husband has been very aware of our entire marriage and I am learning on the way. He has a good relationship with God and God just tells him things even before they make logically sense. We see the fruit of following God all these years later. I grew up in a Christian home, but it just wasn't this way growing up. Feminism and having to be the working woman was definitely in my background. I wanted to be at the top. I wanted to not have to answer to any man. I eventually started an actual relationship with Jesus when I was 24 while dating my now husband. I had to go through a lot of stupid things to get there. :)
Your videos are very refreshing. Thank you! Life has been very challenging lately. It is hard to keep the faith.

Nicely done. I came home when our first child was 8. I’ve been home for 18 years now with one middle school child left at home to school. I’ve always said I wouldn’t have changed a thing, but I believe I would love to have had this mentality. I’ve beat myself up while also not being as helpful in some areas as I could be. Thank you. Where is your “first steps” program for your ancient subscribers. 😝

Wooow I needed this so much!!!! I came across Proverbs 31 and I desire to be that woman. I would pray to God to show me how to be that woman and now I can see how everything you said connects to Pro 31. Thank you, this is powerful, some people would say its RADICAL and outdated but is not, this is what the world need, there would certainly be less divorces. It starts with SUBMITTING yourself to GOD and pray fervently for wisdom in choosing a HUSBAND, not "fall in love" to fall out of love once everything gets real and raw!

I just stumbled onto your channel, and I'm amazed to see and hear this from a young women. It's refreshing and wonderful to hear. And wish i knew this great wisdom as a young women. Even though I was raised in a Catholic family and a traditional home, I was still expected to get a job after getting married and focus on an outside career then being a help meet to may husband. After 13 yrs of marriage we were devoured because of it. But, now in my 2nd marriage and I'm learning to be his "help meet" that God intended me to be. Even though I'm still shamed by my sister's for not having an outside job, I'm not going to go against what God planned for my husband and myself.
One of my friends recently introduced me to the book "Created to be His Help Meet" by Debi Pearl. She has also written another book for young women who aren't married yet and learning how to be that "Help Meet" for her future husband. And Debi's husband wrote a book for men to help them to understand themselves better and living for God.
Thank you so much for your great wisdom and I'm look forward to seeing more videos like this from you. God bless and take care.

This was a beautiful video. And what I got from this was that the baseline of every marriage is that you take care of each other. You said there are exceptions, and I completely agree with that. Each season of your life together is to help each other. Men are always pushed to the back when it comes to mental health. When you’re in a loving marriage, the wife heals the husband and makes him a better man for her. Which is part of making you one in spirit. Being cheerful doesn’t mean you have to be this fake happy woman all the time, it means that everything you do for your husband comes from a heart of love so you are happy to do it for him. When you’re truly committed to each other in love he will return that love and kindness back to you. When you really breakdown the meaning of this video to its bones and core and every video like this, whether it be a therapist talking, or a successful couple that is not Christian, everyone is saying the same thing just in different words. I love hearing someone just say, it’s okay to support your husband.

I have been considering quitting and staying home full time!!! I admire those who do ! I have the option to stay home too and just help husband as much as I can but I interpret for Spanish speakers and to see the joy in their face that I can help them in a respectful manner makes me feel real good because iv always had a calling to help some how and I see the struggle and how expensive it is to hire a interpreter and I always get told how they have never met someone so patient and helpful and non judgmental for not speaking English! I didn’t find Christ until 5 years into motherhood and homemaking, last year. I definitely struggled with being the helper. Now, with the Bible, it is so humbling and much easier to function in the home. The Lord has truly blessed us to be able to stay home, even before me being a faithful daughter.
It’s funny (not), I went back to school online when my first child was 2. Finished a bachelors in 2 years then had my second child a few weeks later. My “Christian” in laws asked us when I was going to start working with my new degree. I had been vocal that I want to be a psychologist when my children grow MUCH older. No mom girl boss for me thanks. I was miserable back then and couldn’t imagine leaving my children to be raised by someone else. As an unbeliever, I couldn’t understand why they would even ask that. I was naively under the impression that religious people wanted the traditional family structure. But then I remembered my husband wasn’t raised in that, which caused a whole slew of issues for us. Men who had girl boss/feminist or single moms sometimes(often) have a difficult time adjusting to being the sole provider. Thank you for speaking on these things. Hopefully there are men out there doing the same for men as the provider role.

I 100% agree that we're to be helpers for our husband's..i on the other hand dont see anywhere in the bible that we should be basically "asking permission" to be able to have free time or whatever..that is micromanaging at that point. Husband's are not to be dominant over the wife, husband's are to love, lead and serve the wife as well. And its dangerous if we start living solely for our husband, instead of ultimately living for Christ. When we have Christ first, and then our husband second that is when things fall into place. (Children third) Yes its absolutely a good thing to help our husband's and to serve them, but there is a fine line..i know you're not trying to say that we need to live for our husband's, but i know there are some Christians out there that would take this LITERALLY. Thanks for the video and for the encouragement!

Does Christ not have dominion over man? Is Christ just supposed to love, lead, & serve the man (i.e. let him do whatever he wants)?
Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands.

    • @NS-nm8nu
      @NS-nm8nu Год назад +4

@@EdwBollings you did not get the meaning of my comment. Unless you really think that wives should worship and live for her husband? Are you saying a husband is supposed to have the same authority as God does? Sounds a bit blasphemous..I would strongly recommend you read what God says about love. And then apply that to how you carefully love your wife/husband. Not base everything on what you should get out of a marriage being the head of a household. (Assuming you're married) wives are to submit (as in allow the man to lead not control lol) and the husband's are to love and be understanding. Both are to serve each other.

    • @wendymtzc
      @wendymtzc 11 месяцев назад +1

We are to submit to our own husbands up to the point where we don’t break God’s laws, so yes if your husband requires you to “ask permission” to go out with your fiends, you are required to obey… if we made poor choices that is not God’s fault and we are still required to submit, thankfully that only happens when you have an unloving, ungodly husband

    • @NS-nm8nu
      @NS-nm8nu 11 месяцев назад +2

@@wendymtzc sorry but that is not biblical. Submitting to your own husband is having respect for him and allowing him to lead you and the family, not control you. Leading is not the same as dominance as you're alluding to. Obeying the Lord yes, but obeying your husband like you're a child no. Yes the husband can ask and communicate to his wife why they should talk to each other about plans and whatnot but to "require" her to ask permission and have it as a rule he gets to use on the wife is not respectful nor loving as he is to be to his wife. He is also to respect and submit to his wife so don't try to make it a weird dominance thing because that is VERY unbiblical and something Christians get wrong all the time. But if you want to live in that way by all means go ahead, it's just not biblical though so please don't pretend it is. God bless!

Hi dear, I'm a housewife and I decided not to have children, it has been hard because I don't have any women in my life who support my decision but the love of my wonderful husband and his support is what encourages me to follow my own journey. My prayers for you and your husband, God bless you

Wow. I'm so glad I came across your channel. I'm certain I'm gonna be learning a lot from 😊. As a not yet married homemaker, It's reassuring to find someone who shares the same sentiments with me. Lately I've been thinking about how I can help my soon to be husband with his business once we are married (since it's a long distance relationship right now)..luckily he did hint on certain skills he'd be glad I have for the benefit of the business, so in the meantime I need to acquire those skills in order to use them once it's time. I look forward to being his helpmate ☺. I love the statements "Helping My Husband Is My Career. My Husband's purpose is my purpose" ♥️. Thank you so much for sharing such wisdom with us.

I see that God is giving me the same desires you mentioned and I stopped working in phases over the first three years after being married, still yet to have kids. And this was at my husbands request which God was mirroring in my desires. I still think everyone should listen to the Lords will for them though, I didn’t marry until 33 and I know God called me into a ministry setting for all those years as a single on purpose. It wouldn’t have been possible for me to stay home all those years and I believe I learned a lot more how to be a steward of the home single than in my parents home. But that’s just my story. I used to feel very dogmatic about religious matters like this but God has led me into a place of understanding His grace makes a way for each persons uniqueness and story. I will say I remained single all those years and did not date. My husband and I were pretty darn certain we would marry each other even while just friends, but that was because we were seeking Him above all else.

My husband and I have wild schedules. While I don’t “work” outside of the home, I do:
Volunteer at our kids school, I’m a coordinator for our girls American Heritage Girls Troop, I’m a financial coach at our church, I serve w our daughters at church on the weekends, my husband serves at church and we coach a marriage class together as well… on top of his EXTREMELY demanding job. Oh I’m also a precinct committeeman and attend school board meetings.
I’ve never been more busy and felt so fulfilled and yet I don’t earn money outside the home… well, my husband and I have a business together as well.

Wow, this is such a blessing. I encourage you to keep on being anti-cultural and God cultural. Your videos have been a blessing to me and may the Lord hold remind me and hold me accountable to being a homemaker.

keepers at home in Paul's day when he wrote those word
homes were also places of business. the business up front and the home part at the back .
today life has evolved that places of business are outside the home, so that means women might have to go to work somewhere other than the home
