Would be cool if the monster information was made into a classic RPG bestiary where you can look up enemies and see what they do. Would be nice for newer players or for new content if you can look up enemies you recently fought and check what damage types they did, or if they had a skill that was extra strong
If you ever played final fantasy 12, that had a fantastic bestiary where the first time you killed a monster, you got the information about it with a little bit of lore.
The more you killed, it would unlock even more lore about something else in the world related to it, like a location where zombies originated etc.
As always appreciate the direct and honest communication from both Mark and Jonathan as well as their obvious passion for the game. Both seem to be willing to discuss things and admit fault if there are issues but also just dont blindly fold when something is unpopular if there was an original idea behind it.
That dang notification sound at 6:46 had me searching every single tab!

Honestly the best POE interview I think I've ever seen. I've watched all of your interviews, but the quality of answers and questions, your follow-ups and gentle, effective pushback... really great work Ziggy. It's hard to see just how much impact a good interviewer has, but this is a great example
I actually fist pumped when Ziggy brought up the rucksack QoL. Like please GGG give us a space for just scrolls and maps, tie it to belts if you need to. It’s just incredibly handy to have that separate zone.
The only way they will re add it is if they put it in the store.

Where I’m from it’s considered pretty nasty to besmirch the integrity of a company like GGG, who have proven themselves to be honest and honorable in terms of NOT selling player power, in a market saturated with competitors that do sell excessive pay to win features in their cash shops.
I never said anything negative about them. But that being said whats the difference between a 12 slot backpack compared to premium stash tabs where the only thing they both offer is convenience? They charge for one so is it that far off for them to charge for the other?@@Bittler87
I really enjoyed this interview, great questions! Also loved you pushing them on some important questions or clarifying some things you personally thought (which often reflects part of the community) without doing it too much :)
Mark - "we do alot..." .Understatement of the year. I am always amazed at how much they release each league.
It's so awesome to have devs who actually play the game and think about the game like players. With Mark at the helm I am actually stoked about the future of POE1.
Multiple Atlas trees, say no more, where do I pay?
And more than that I love that there’s still so much experimentation to be done with PoE‘s mechanics. We’ll see whether the extreme customizability through Necropolis will be a hit but at least to me it’s cool that GGG aren’t afraid to take risks like that.

(P.S.: I totally agree with the fact that logging out to avoid something is more of an exploit than invulnerability while talking to an NPC)
Imo it would be cool if we had the backpack for maps, scarabs and scrolls only. It feels like I always have slots reserved for those, and new maps get mixed in as I run, so a few times I end up running a white or blue map when I go fast.
Or maybe just do it like terraria an have favorite slots that don't get autofilled and you can't ctrl+click in your stash.

As someone who has to bind 1 skill slot for walking since i use tab, it would be invaluable if moving would be removed from the active skill slots :)
love how they're homie synced for like an hour straight.
re: autocast - i actually like the support gem since i use space to move and it will save me a button press. Though im still adverse to the change of not allowing it on left click

Mid tier crafting is gonna take a pretty rough hit with the removal of veiled chaos and the essence changes, tbh. On the portal keybind: Can we have that functionality for wisdom scrolls as well?

I had to drop affliction early because of OSRS Trailblazer and WoW SoD launching.
Honestly it's awesome ATM how if you play the right games, you can just cycle through fresh content

I think my biggest frustration with the LMB change is that it feels like GGG hasn't finished replacing it. If they want to remove it? Fine. But what we got to replace it is socket pressure, mana pressure, a nerf to warcries, and a single mastery specifically for mines. There is more work that needs to be done to make up the deficit in player QoL from this change, and it feels like they pulled the trigger way too early.

The reason players don't like automation is because it takes a gem slot and you removed the ability for it not to. Pretty simple, removing power from players to give them QoL they didn't ask for is bad. CWDT already automated it with a gem. If you wanted to make guard skills automatic and more relevant, make them all cast when damage is taken automatically and balance them around that fact so people don't need to put them in a CWDT setup.
Its not only about the socket.
Its also the lack of any player control over it.
For example Detonate Mines:
Now it detonates every so and so many seconds.
Before you could stack up mines while a boss spawned and then move to detonate them as soon as it spawned.
I also feel if it was to even the field between pc and console, you could definitely somehow have made it possible to have a skill trigger everytime you move with the stick, just like on pc.

Hard disagree with that. They should never take away the option to use defensive abilities manually. This game has always been about choice. The option should be there if you want it.
Does that mean with the changes, the annoying mine "tink tink tink" sound will be gone? Mark seems to recognize how annoying it is but didn't really mention it when talking about the mastery
i am not sure if i like the fact, that the new league mechanic is not optional 🤔
It’s like pseudo optional. You can still zoom through zones in the campaign and ignore the mechanic (the monsters themselves) and in maps you don’t have to interact with the monster building. Maps are where it’s a bit less optional due to the player’s best interest to clear as much of the map as possible (especially the new affliction wisp atlas keystone).

On the mageblood drop rate "buff", 2.5 x 0 = 0. Those items don't exist. Played since before vaal oversoul was in game and have not had a t0 drop. Every league I am less excited because it's just so inaccessible. Last epoch is honestly my main arpg now because it doesn't completely disrespect and shit on my time like poe does.
My question is, why do we still need to trade with our player inventory ?
Most Trades happen in a place with unlimited access to your stash tab... preferably even in a way where you don't need to fish out x amount of stacks and than move 15 back, but can just say "115c".
It's like GGG wants Trade to be as annoying as possible ^^ Which would also explain why they keep on making content, that blocks you from leaving to trade until it is done.
I respect your opinion, but i disagree.

@@theswamps6589 You can't get around a trade window. But for example: Instead of pulling 6 stacks of chaos orbs, than splitting 1 and your trading partner also having to count them... why not have 1 item with the number 115 ?
I am dreading the left click change. My build was already suffering from last league's nerfs, and this just adds on top of it. I don't really want to deviate away from my favorite build, but I may be forced to choose another option.

I love Mark’s answer of deal with it. There are so many options. You guys are copying builds and playing softcore trade. The fact that you cry about any .0001% nerf to overall player power is unbelievably cringe.
I wish the wildwood ascendancy stuff was going core. It made some builds so much more fun and accessible

@@Noobwater I get 1k div, and melee is still shit if you compare the same investment to a dif build. You spend more for less damage/range and no upside. I'll still play it when I'm feeling like it, but won't try to convince myself it's a good thing.
I felt to sleep watching his questions. Se him smiling, flirting and smirking felt like a bad Hugh Grant romance komedy. Did he want to bed Jonathan or Mark? But soon as Mark or Jonathan started to talk it was interesting again until Ziggy was flirting again. So boring.Thank god Mark and Jonathan was doing most of talking

In what universe would a majority of players want LMB bind taken away? And LOL at GGG thinking it was a strange and dumb idea, their whole game is predicated on arcane and strange rules.
That LMB section was so unconvincing, yeesh. This really wasnt thought through.
I still dislike the left click, nerf. Nothing Jonathan or Mark said changed that, sadly :( On the other hand I haven't seen many things I like in the patch notes anyway. So I 'll just hape to cope with the new systems. My belly tells me we'll never have POE as good as it was in Affliction. Still, to finish off positive: Neon is just great.
The Necro changes are again uncalled for and bad for the build character. Why even have a necro if the passives you get could just be on the tree.
