- In this video, we take a trip to Los Angeles where I was able to play an unreleased version of Path of Exile 2! In truth, the game is HARD and I'll talk about whether that's a good thing, as well as my thoughts and impressions in this video with some supporting gameplay.
Enjoy!
Special thanks to the guys at Grinding Gear Games for sponsoring this video. #ad

Were you a Path of Exile enjoyer? Are you looking forward to Path of Exile 2? Let me know!
Yeah want to play it but my wife will kill me! got 820 hours in PZ xD
I do indeed enjoy PoE, and i'm very envious xD
Really really liked what i've seen here! Tuning the early optional bosses is probably pretty tough, since not every class has synergizing abilities early on. But i'd rather go up against challenging, potentially lethal bosses than... named trashmobs
Nope. Tried the first game and kinda hated it? Loot drops suck, gear system is convoluted, too many currencies in it's economy, I could go on and on. I hear that eventually you can kinda craft gear or something but the game doesn't teach you anything and everything is so convoluted you need to read/watch guides to try and understand it.
If you can get past that then the skill tree stuff is probably pretty fun (though I hear melee specs are horrible so there might be balance issues) I just didn't have the patience to get there. I'm curious about PoE2 but if it's got a similar loot/gear system I'll probably not bother. There are plenty of other games to play. I like this genre but the first game left a really bad impression.
Got around 12,000 hours in PoE, through the ups and downs. It's in a good place at the moment and feels fresher than ever, but I really can't wait to swap to PoE 2.
Love PoE, love Project Zomboid and love you. Long may all three continue. 😂
Finally, the crossover between my Project Zomboid and Path of Exile hobbies.
Heck yeah. PZ represent.
Good for you on getting that invite, bro 👍
Thank you! Really appreciate it. Was a big shock, would love to do some similar things in future.
Never thought I would see you playing this
Honestly, I didn't expect to be playing it either! Was a very pleasant surprise though!
Would love to see you do a series/playthrough on this. 👍🏼
This is awesome! I literally just started playing PoE 1 a couple of weeks ago. I'm looking forward to this coming out!
Great timing then!
It's so funny how i at random times come to this channel and every time you play or make video about me then's main game. Good taste my man!
Thanks! :D
glad you got a chance to join in on the fun that is PoE
Thanks!!
As someone coming from poe (over 5000 hours) I think it’s awesome they give creators such as yourself a chance to try their game. It’s beneficial for them and also you. I’d never seen any of your vids before but this was a great watch
A good and honest review, nice work! I'm glad to see you getting an opportunity like this and I hope its just the first of many
Much appreciated! I don't wanna say this is a review as such, but I'll definitely be interested in doing one when the game launches :D
My forest has also been taken over by a fungal infection...
Ashley I hate this
@@MrAtomicDuck me too
@@ABH-82 I laughed so hard I almost choked X'D
Should go see a doctor about that one mate
instructions were indeed unclear, am suffering from lightning chaining to my nethers, pls send help
Looks awesome, I can’t wait to give it a try! The warrior’s attacks seems like they each have their own impact and feedback to the player.
It’s great that they invited you and well deserved even if it isn’t your usual environment. I hope you will do a couple of videos about poe2, curious to see how it would go even if I have no doubt it’ll be as entertaining as usual.
The Warrior did have some real weight to it. Takes a good player to manage incoming damage though!
Another option for the Knights: Engage the chaff around them and let your chaining damage take them out with accumulated chip damage.
For sure! I THINK even my lightning chains spawned the reflected attack though. Been a while, so I could be mistaken.
Blocking is directional. I think* the reflection is linked to the blocking mechanism. I could be wrong though and it's just triggered on taking damage. We'll all find out when the game is open to everyone.
Bee. Playing for about 5 years but never touched Endgame in PoE, tried mapping for the first time yesterday and damn it hard, but so fun
Very awesome you were invited! I've been sitting on Path of Exile for so long to wait to play with friends 😂and now there's a sequel coming. F***!
Thanks for the support! Felt like a dream of a trip for many reasons. Hopefully you can get into it with the sequel like I will be :)
good to see an opinion i can be sure is not a fabricated one👍
Thanks Rusty! Appreciate it mate :)
mannnn i cannot waiiitt to play this
It's looking pretty good!
Only started getting into ARPGs with Diablo 4 and I’m holding out for PoE2! Awesome that you got invited to LA for this game congrats dude!
Thanks Rev! Yeah it was a lot of fun to play. Could definitely see myself enjoying it when it releases.
@@MrAtomicDuck hmu if you do! Would love to play some games with you again at some point ❤️
the inventory bag in POE2 is so small. LE's item bag is about the right size
Remember, Path of Exile have a stand alone client that i would say most people use.
And including all regions they have millions of players every league.
Good job Brad
Heckin Brad...
I never whent past the second scenario of the first game, nevertheless I still think it is a good game!
Will try the second one when it releases.
Congratz on the invite
Thank you!! What do you think stopped you going further in the first game?
@@MrAtomicDuck nothing in particular... maybe the graphics I think. The second one looks beautifull
That's fair :) The 2nd one is a huge upgrade in that department, for sure.
I had no idea there was a sequel
Yeah man! It wasn't really on my radar before this, but it definitely is now.
0:15 That's just Steam numbers. PoE Can also by played with standalone client, has console releases and other regions like China have their own clients.
Always good to hear the name of Project Zomboid drop, even if is just for reference. PZ - Best game ever. ;)
Agreed ;)
Nope. Not a regular. Here for poe2. Thank you for covering it and other games. Cheers.
No worries! Thanks for watching :)
That not the game I was expecting to find on your channel. And that's a pleasant surprise.
Do you know if the game will be F2P like the first Path of Exile?
Oh, also, we saw you using the skill gems, but was there a skill tree like in the 1st PoE?
There is a talent tree, yes! We were asked not to show this just yet as it isn't quite ready, but it's there :) I believe it will be F2P, yes.
@@MrAtomicDuck Nice, thank you!
Are you allowed to say if the skill tree looked less like a tree but more like a mutant bush from hell designed to scare new players (because let's be honnest, that's what the skill tree looks like in the 1st PoE)? :D
It was the same "web" network as from the first game, but I think it did a pretty good job of pushing you in a certain direction to start with, only really getting complicated later as you unlock more possibilities.
@@MrAtomicDuck Nice. Thanks for all the infos! :)
How can i play this game?
I'm curious about how the skill tree compares to PoE 1
We were asked not to show this just yet because it isn't 100% ready, but it's very similar in terms of it's construction. A "web" structure with your class choice pushing you towards certain areas of it.
It's going to be the same size but they have removed life etc from the tree, they have made some steps to make the tree easier to understand. If you hold shift on a node on the passive tree in poe 2, it will show you everything that changes stat wise on your character. They have done the same with comparing items as well.
I like a bit of day time in games... not everything has to be dark all the time...
A very good thing, harkens back to Diablo 2 where it was a good challenge not the zooming through bullshit with zero effort that D3 and D4 turned out to be
I really hope they don't end up nerfing it
I Hope they make ranged characters do less damage and squishy to balance there mobility and versatility .
Or else melee and close ranged characters will just not be worth it.
as an fyi atomic, i think the devs said this is intended to be a darksouls of the ARPG hahaha
good vid man
I'd be totally up for that. If that's what they're going for, I'd support it! I'd almost say the follow-up bosses weren't hard enough, at least for rangers, if that's the case though.
I love high difficulty games, I just don't know if the rest of the playerbase would, ya know?
@@MrAtomicDuck yeah man, i've only really played PoE for 3 leagues so im still new to the game. However, my friends are hoping for the game to be harder so seems like they will be happy 😅
Nice! Maybe there's a big portion of the playerbase that will enjoy it as it is, then!
Ducks 🖊️ and crows 🖊️ do not 🖊️ get along 🖊️
Always eating my darn bread.
PoE enjoyer, Mr. Tarkov? 👀
Hard? Yeah right..
Reaching 16M points in Tetris, now that's hard.
"Path of Exile 2 is releasing Soon" - Ehh if only
The most popular ARPG with 100k players at league start lool 😂😂
That game is amazing!!!
Was a lot of fun :D
poe was for chilllllllllll and now what ?
No ragdolls? Shame
first
because i let you be
Appreciate the support!
this big crap slow down gameplay
