However, you can tell at level 20, the investors were pressuring them to deliver, and the product was not finished, the end game was literally missing and totally lackluster, it never was able to get back what it had and just died.
I have been following this game for a while…. My biggest fear is lots of ideas… but can they fit all this into a functional fun mmo? The lack of in game footage makes me nervous
gaming journalist didnt talk about spawn camping in pvp survival games and forgot to mention space issues regarding housing in mmos like ff14 has...... its still DOA sorry not sorry.
Funcom is my favorite underdog developer. They've had a couple of fun but ultimately not great games but they've also made some absolute bangers. Anarchy Online and Conan Exiles among them. I've got a good feeling about this one.
Its Funcom. Its Dune only in aesthetics. You can't capture Dune as a game as a Survival "MMO". Also MMO is overused now. Not to mention there has been little to no detailed gameplay. It's all the typical scripted events/cinematics. How many times do gamers need to learn that its easy to show scripted events. All you need is to build hype so you sell a million copies and then apologize and release a "how we will fix our game" roadmap. You'll keep enough people coping that you can support the maintenance of the game. Stop buying what they are selling please.
I have 1188 hours in Conan Exiles according to steam. A lot of AFK time there no doubt but I feel like I'm qualified to speak on it. Funcom is a company I have a difficult relationship with precisely because a lot of the stuff they make is so good, it hurts more when they stumble in places, but what I can say with certainty is that they are one of the few game devs out there who actually care about the source material they adapt, and Age of Conan and Conan Exiles are extremely faithful to the Robert E. Howard novels. Being that Conan is one of my favourite franchises ever, and Dune definitely being up there, this matters a lot to me. They are also a dev studio willing to take risks, for weal and woe, so I'm more than willing to at least give them a chance with this. I am if nothing else confident they will not compromise on the pseudo-reality of Arrakis for the sake of player convenience. The desert will be brutal, as it should be.
How can they run out of water? "A stillsuit will keep you alive for weeks, even in the deep desert" "Your water loss will be less than a thimbleful a day" - Liet-Kynes. So...how?
3:20 I wonder if the publishers see conan exile as a mmo or not, that'd probably tell more or less be able to judge how many people will be on a server. A lot of players and developers throw the word MMO around often. I've heard people call diablo 3 and Leauge of Legends a MMO before when they're really just multiplayer games with a playerbase
A lot of talk, only cinematics, paid shills hyping it up before anyone saw a second of gameplay this is going to be generic ubisoft product. Remember - devs not showing gameplay? Probably because its shit.
If this was a single player RPG game similar to DD2 or Skyrim I would be very excited, but what the game goes for speaks of failure and I would love to be wrong so everyone can be happy playing a great game, but we all know survival games when combined with the "MMO" stamp fail 90% of the time.
In the MMO, if you kill Asmon and take his water... A Stilgar cutscene pops up *"filthy water... full of chemicals. But good enough for cooling systems!"* 🤠

This might be the second game I pre-order. I don't even care if it comes with gamepass later on😅 conan exiles was fun and I felt like I missed out coming into the game so late, considering I got it with game pass I wasn't too sad, but when the only people who play it have ether 10 hours or 1000 it creates a situation where you ether are a perisite who takes from the hire level players only to never get back on ever, or you are that top player and servers feel empty except for the people who leach off you for the 2 days they try the game before taking your resources with them to the void.😂

i'm still mad they used old hai shulud design and not from latest movies, cmon, every other stuff is taken from them so why not sandworm.
4:37 Its the Satisfactory Style
How can they run out of water?
"A stillsuit will keep you alive for weeks, even in the deep desert"
"Your water loss will be less than a thimbleful a day" - Liet-Kynes.
P1 : try to get sponsor
P2 actually get pre acces
P3 this game changed my life
P4remind people to not fall for advertisements without any game play
P5 updates and fixes too late hate farm begins
Never forget Anarchy Online and the state it is in, I'm going to wait before buying.
Force did a really good video on this today.
It does look good… but they basically haven’t shown any gameplay yet. Could very well be a catfish. We will have to wait for reviews.
Guys the game that we really have to think about, is Spellbound, the New fromsoftware IP directed by our lord Miyasaki, and that game will be the combination of elden ring and armored core
walking in sand simulator
Death Sanding
I won´t feel excited until I see real ingame footage
It's not an MMO. It's going to be like Conan, where no one will want to play on public servers with toxic players and just stay to private with friends or whitelist.
What will come out first, Dune MMO, or Star Citizen?
Isn't it funny that this game was announced less than two years ago, while Ashes of Creation is nearing its 10th announcement anniversary? Guess which one we are gonna see sooner!
If constant PvP and player base raiding isn't a thing I will 100% play this. I hope it is not just Rust with a Dune skin.
Wish it was just a huge solo survival game with building
Somebody got sand in the potato salad!
I'm excited, I'm already playing Star Citizen. I will be cool to alternate PTUs
They have been using Conan Exiles for years as public beta for Dune Awakening.
If they still manage to fuck it up, there is no redemption.
It's more of conan in desert with ~1k players per server, not actual mmo though. A pity.
I feel like a bounty system for players that kill other players would be cool. Imagine putting bounties on your friends 😭
