- We're on the road to Shadow Keep today, but not before we explore more of Gravesite Plains and do some mini bosses! We face the Blackgaol Knight who gives us a bit of trouble. Then we find the wonderful Golden Hippopotamu from the DLC trailer!!!

The Blackgaol Knight was my introduction into the DLC and it really set the tone lol

It was the first thing I found. I killed it but it was a real B. As soon as she walked in I was eager to see her reaction to the insane damage he does. I was no disappointed!! lol

I have to confess that it took me far longer to beat the Black Gaol Knight, than it did to beat Rellana! It did, however, give me the opportunity to realise how powerful guard counters are in this DLC. It has vastly helped me progress and improve!! Keep it up, this game just gets better and better.
For me it was fucking Rakshasa, that prick. Rellana is at least a fun fight. Rakshasa just does the same slash ash of war over and over and has hyper armor when doing it. Thought I was gonna lose my mind.
Loved that first Blackgaol Knight attempt! Great job on him afterward though.
By the way, that lake in the Gravesite Plain where you said they wouldn't pull another Agheel is worth going back to take a look at.
As far as pronunciations go, "scadu" is kind of the new siofra. When the game was new, most people said it see-off-ra, before eventually word spread that it's shee-fra. Scadu is just an archaic form of shadow, and pronounced the same. Word will eventually spread again.
If only the same could be said of poor Tyche. Her name is Greek, and is usually pronounced tie-kee. "Teesh" has become a meme of sorts though, so it's likely here to stay.
I really enjoyed Thiollier's questline and I highly recommend following it if you can. Such a fun video Emma loved the exploration! I'm glad I decided to do that more instead of getting to close to the end.

Love the journey and exploration... Your Golden Hippo fight - wow! Explore round the area South East of Prospect Town a little more for some goodies. Wonderful content. Looking foward to episode 4. :)
At 1 hour 49 minutes. I think the reason the spirit spring didn't work is because it was sealed.... There was a note about them you could have bought from a merchant that tells you what to do. I think you have to remove the stones covering the spring.. I see you figured it out later.... good job... :)
if youre looking to explore more later, there is a couple of non-essential things you missed around the lake a little before the 1 hr mark ;)

Love the exploration episodes! I find the dlc even harder to sort out than the main game. I also really like being squishy in a beginning since it gives you a real sense of progression. It's so exciting to find scooby snacks! Another great video, you're so entertaining!

I’ve unlocked most of the map now, the places you find just by riding around are incredible. Also picked up a couple of amazing weapons, the Dragon Hunter Great Katana and Star-Lined Sword. The former is called that for a reason, it’s great against those Shadowflame Dragons. 👌
The FUCK?! The fact you first tried the Hippo.. Das crazyyyy LMAO I'm actually mad, I'm big trash 🤣 That shit FUCKED me up soo many damn times, I legit had to leave & then come back. Died easily 10 times or so to it. Now onto Part 4

Great rune charm broken its Miquella rune and a charm he placed on an opening to an area. Go back and talk with the npcs to get more data.
Another one of these things are called I believe Furnace Golems. To stand a chance jump timing is everything
Don’t worry about the exploration. I get it. We want to spend more time looking at things and making videos you feel like people just want to see action 24/7 but the exploration is a huge part of Elden Ring. It’s one reason this game alone has the most time I’ve ever spent on a game.
As long as you’re having fun do what you like. That’s really what matters and it looks like you’re having a great time.
Shadow keep im at 11 blessings(scada) and I feel honestly a bit too strong. So we are at the same level in the same place. I’m also level 137
This legacy dungeon is one of my favorites they’ve ever done there’s sooo much to it.
Love the free-roam episodes, especially if they involve killing turtles lol. (YT seem to have disabled the emoji pallet).

'Scadu' is the Old English spelling for 'shadow' and is pronounced "shadow." So, they're Shadow Tree Fragments!

I love the exploration episodes. It's my favorite part of both playing and watching cause there's so much cool stuff around the map.
Edit: oh you found a cairn by the end of the video, carry on.
A handful of things you may have missed. Or you may have learned them in the meantime.
* Some spirit springs are blocked. They have a little ghost cairn in them signifying you need to break a nearby cairn to open them.
* The dudes in the forges really only take damage from the rear.
* You picked up an item related to the silent NPC by Moorth. Now you're online, messages should help too.
Oh and I hope I'm not getting too spoilery but you got the powerful charm broken message. You may have learned about this by now, but when you last talked to Leda she will have mentioned Miquella's charm keeping all of the followers from quarrelling. You can go chat with her now that the charm is dispelled to get the story moving.
Anyway, Shadow Keep is a ton of fun so I'm looking forward to the next one!

11:24:29 Levels still mean a lot in the DLC.
If you don't want to loose runes to bosses you can always just farm a few more runes and then come back after you levelled up. It's not like you have to risk all the runes, especially not in cases where the site of grace is right in front of the boss room.
Also be extra careful around jar boys

Well you mentioned that your spirits aren't helping much, the red cloak girl in Roundtable has a dialogue between her and the blacksmith that will turn her into a spirit tuner. Then you can level your spirit ashes
The Blackgaol Knight was the first boss I found and I didn't have any scadutree fragments at all lol took me about 17 tries. With an Int/Dex build magic was to slow so i had to go for sword and shield instead. The Beastclaw man near the chruch from the last video was my second encounter...xp however that went better since I could distance myself with torrent. As for the Blackgaol Knight the pattern was rather easy however got twoshotted a lot when his combos connected.

In UK you're not allowed to put ac units on historical buildings
In order to have a chance to deal with final boss it would be wise to get all the scadu tree and spirit upgrades. Meaning you have to leave no stone unturned. I believe there are 20 scadu blessings. I hope this helps.
Loving your playthroughs, yours are the first I've ever watched for this game and honestly it's making me want to play it.

My twin katana dex build was crap for Black Knight Edredd. I had so much more trouble dealing with him than you! I ended up having to lure him out the trap door in the ceiling to smack and run repeatedly. Embarrassing tactics to say the least.
Blackgaol Knight has some cosmetic references to Guts from Berserk! Give that manga a read sometime, I'm sure you'll see a lot of familiar things

Right off the bat the first of many edits to this post: I love how you say where can I get 200 runes from quickly and safely when you probably have a few runes in your inventory you could of popped to have gotten it LOL. Edit 2: Skidibop fragments…. I almost died laughing LOL. I call them Skadoosh fragments LOL 😂😂. Edit 3: I’m sorry, But I love you got absolutely wrecked by Blackgaol Knight on that first attempt! Your face was mine exactly cause that happened to me and I was like HOLY SHIT that’s a lotta damage!!! Edit 4: “Hey is this what you guys watch for, a sweaty lady” You said it Emma not us LOL 😂. When u enter shadow keep u mess up a bunch of questlines its prob the only dumb design they made for the dlc
Ahh yeah I am not the best with following NPC quests anyway so it’s defo not built for me 😅 I’ve had to look up Hornsent’s
@Emmalition I try to follow them and I still messed up a bunch, they give u no warning or anything so unless u follow a guide it's easy to miss them. The dlc is def meant to be done on 2 playthroughs
i mean, just dont kill the boss in the shadow keep and you can still do some quests in the storage

Your character is very powerful already and yet you get scared from every new enemy haha
To quickly and safely get some runes jump out of the DLC got to Moghs (farm spot bird or the sleeping guys) and bam easy free runes lol, I don't trust the DLC at all I'm literally at the final boss and haven't leveled up a single time, yeah I died that much, my first death (that cost me runes) was against the rapid fire crossbow guy, 3 million runes puffed and I could have leveled up a few times, but noooo the DLC had other things in mind lol
