there is a myth that says that bosses AI is randomly generated on each playthrough, and it tries to explain why a boss you find hard is easy for another player and viceversa

Gaius was somehow even worse at launch. His spawn after your first death was basically right in front of you, so the moment you crossed the fog wall he'd start his charge that felt amost impossible to dodge on medium load, I hated that fight. Moving him all the way back made the fight much better.
A couple of great new weapons if you find them are the Sword Of Night and Star Lined Sword. Both a lot of fun to use, have great L2 weapon skills and do good damage when levelled up to max. The Dragon Hunter Great Katana does what it says on the tin and is excellent against dragons, and bosses in general. BTW, getting to that colourful area you couldn't work out how to get to involves interacting with the statue to the right of the grace at the entrance of the Commander Gaius area, where you picked up a Scadutree Fragment. You need to use a certain gesture in front of it, try exploring Bonny Village more to pick up the gesture.
I've been excited to say, I killed the last boss of the dlc with a kukri, as I yelled kukri!!! It was truly epic, and I owe it all to Fanta. Edit: Also, that bit with the elevators outside brought me back to the way to Margo in Bloodborne and Gaius totally gave me a Gyoubu Oniwa charging from around the corner! I wish Gaius screamed at me too!
I love the milady. It’s my boss killer. I usually two hand it and have the two handed sword talisman for the 15% buff to two handing a weapon. You have 40 strength also with 60 dex so you’re more quality really. You can scale the weapon with quality for more damage and if you two hand the strength really goes up much more than the 40 you have. Wing stance ash of war is really meant for the milady. Doesn’t look like you found it. The grace where you fight Rellana turn around and go out the back patio and it’s over there to the right. The heavy attack on the ash of war is amazing. Does a lot of stance damage and huge gap closer. Also the stance looks like lady Maria’s stance she does on you when she lunges at you I love it. Also the weapon has a lot of combination of attacks no other weapon does. Heavy attacks into light attacks. Jump heavies into lights. Running heavies into lights. It’s such a flowy looking weapon. Everything it does looks good Also, long comment I know, the meteoric ore blade has the same moveset of a zweihander's which I know you love and the ash is amazing. Has a lunge thrust and if you hit the button again an explosion. Another weapon you’d like I’m sure.
Ditto to everything about the Milady and Wing Stance - I wanted to comment about it but didn't want to babble on forever lol. The heavy Wing Stance attack also has a pretty massive hitbox, I've had it hit enemies that are basically beside each other so many times. Easy overall favourite weapon + ash in the DLC, and the fact that it can be used by ANY build just makes it even better.
@@dietrichenstein yep, the reason I think they put impaling thrust on it was to show that it can be infused and changed. With impaling as a pretty standard ash you buy early on. Wing stance only use is on the light greatswords and this is the only infusible one so really it’s meant for this weapon but an option to go with any other ash you want. The light ash into the heavy ash also combos. Similar to ds3’s square off for straight swords and greatswords I tend to babble a lot. I just have a lot to say 😂
Commander Gaius is most likely the worst experience I have had playing any fromsoftware game. Emma, I am so happy you did not have to fight him pre balance patch. He's placement used to be right infront of you, meaning you would instantly get charged by him, not giving you a chance to use summons or spells. Gaius was, and still is, absolutely miserable to fight and I do not understand how and who greenlit this for release. He feels like cut content, especially with him being a remeberance boss yet has that same reused ost from the main game.
It’s good to try different weapons and it’s fun. But most importantly use what you like and works for you! I just found a weapon on the cerulean coast called Star-lined Sword. It’s a blast. I feel like a Jedi warrior

Rellana's weapon they were suggesting is one you get from the finger reader at RTH by trading in Rellana's remembrance and the backhand blades that they were talking about is a pair of curved looking swords you hold in a backhand fashion found in the first area. they are simply called "Backhand Blade"

You know what, screw the haters. I just beat the game on NG+2 and used Bloodhound Fang +25 and Bloodflame Blade to do it. Sliced up that stupid star whale Elden Beast like supernatural sushimi. Use what works and what you enjoy.
Great job getting through Gaius Emma! I think most people have had a similar experience with that fight haha 😅 and as someone who recommended quickstep yes it takes some getting used to but it's basically an extra dodge if you figure out the timing. I used it all the way through the DLC including the final boss.

I still found the BHF to be very good in the dlc. Also its early in the ep so you might’ve already done this, but you might get even more damage out of your milady by giving it the “quality” affinity since you’ve invested a lot into strength as well as dex
of course its good. it does bleed, decent overall damage, and its ash of war is super strong. i frames in dash and both parts hit super hard and can proc bleed. i personally prefer the omen curved greatswords just from aesthetics alone but its probably the strongest curved greatsword in the game.

Don't listen to the Bloodhound haters, I don't even use it but I know it's good. But I'd also say definitely keep up the experimenting! You can find fun combinations and weapons that click for you. They may not be as "meta" or good as Bloodhound, but if it clicks for you they can be a ton of fun also
Bloodhound Fang kicks ass, you should keep using it because sucks to the haters. But don't forget you can and should definitely use grease on it too. Grease it up with some blood grease... get it extra sloppy. But Milady is pretty fun... don't forget you can get her sloppy with grease too!
Hi, Emma. Love your work. Something that I would highly recommend doing is completing Ansbach's questline. If you do, then you get him as an NPC summon for the final boss of this DLC. I think you'll probably want to have him, because that boss is VERY difficult. I'm not saying you're bad, I'm just saying that the boss is a serious challenge, and that you might need a bit of assistance from Ansbach. Also, your hair looks nice.
Having fully upgraded bloody back hand blade has been a close 2nd weapon for me as a guy who uses fully upgraded dual grafted greatswords. You have certainly shiwn me how dope the hounds fang is. And for the longest time my main weapons were dual long straightswords, imagine if i had put a bleed or frost damage on them with a good ash of war. But im so basic and never really use buffs or spells or really optomized my loadout for max damage lol.
The pig warrior about did me in. After i beat it, i had pork for dinner as petty revenge. Havent managed to kill the sunflower. Not sure how one of those will taste for dinner but it might happen. Still trying to kill the godess of rot. I cant seem to do it.
Don’t worry about how someone thinks you should play, this DLC is incredibly difficult in my opinion and I think you should use whatever you have the most fun using and what you think is effective. Also don’t think you’re the only one still playing the DLC, I took my time with my play-through because I wanted to really enjoy this last piece of Elden Ring content and now I’m stuck on the last boss. You got this.
You were really unlucky with that illusory wall near the end. The first time you attacked it, you hit the pillar in the middle. As for Gaius... He seems to be many people's least favourite boss to fight in the dlc. At least they've changed his spawn point on the second attempt and beyond now. At launch, he would just smash you within seconds of stepping through the fog gate.

Gaius took me a good while to finally beat he was so frustrating lol and it was before they put him farther back after your 1st fight through the fog wall.
5:54 Up to +24 actually (or +9 for the unique weapons). Only the final upgrade requires the smithing stones that cannot be bought (same for the gloveworts for upgrading spirit ashes btw). Bells you found carry over if you start an NG+ btw, you don't have to collect them again. 7:19 That's not Rellana's weapon. This one is from the Carian Knight you fought on the way to Rellana.
Argh, Gaius is probably my least favourite boss in the DLC, congrats on beating him. As you might have seen when you were editing you *can* dodge the charge attack but it's really difficult and requires very precise timing. At least you get 5 fragments so that makes up for it a bit. It also took me ages to get to the area you're trying to get to, in the end someone had to tell me. But you do have the access you need to get to there at least. Milady is fun, I'm using it more and more now. There's an Ash of War that goes well with it that you can find if you have a look around the balcony right by the site of grace before Rellana. I love the way the map fits together, it's almost like the original Dark Souls map. As you might have figured out from where you went in this episode you can actually fight Messmer as the first boss of the DLC if you really want to. I love it when they give you loads of options like that. Great episode once again, looking forward to the next one! Oh and never feel bad about going back to the Bloodhound Fang! It's a great weapon, and I found myself often falling back to more familiar weapons when the going got tough.
Hair is 100% Trying new weapons is good but use what you are comfortable with. Cam is still using the BHF. Pymbra is using it too. I am using my trust Claymore. As others have said, Wingstep is the Ash you want for Milady.
Hey sorry about the haters but imo there's no need to second-guess yourself when it comes to your weapons if you aren't really interested in trying out different things and feel more comfortable in a set playstyle, just because some people can't help but be massive losers LOL. And FYI, the notion you had at the start of the video to powerstance two Fang's was actually a very good one 😂 You'd be better off power-stancing two Fang's rather than Morgott's, because you'd double the bleed buildup on the power-stanced moveset. BUT, still wanna encourage you to pick up the Backhand Blade on the Gravesite Plain tho - the Smithscript Cirque is not THE Backhand Blade, which is a far superior weapon and I think you'd genuinely find it really fun. You could basically turn it into a much faster, zippy little BHF if you wanted to lol (just make sure you're two-handing it tho!). Also GOD, you're lucky you got to fight Gaius after the latest patch. 😭This is my first time seeing the boss after they patched it. Prior to this patch, after the first time he entered through the back gate he would be sitting in the field directly in front of you and charge you down the moment you stepped through the fog, and the hitboxes on the boar were COMPLETELY cooked. Oh my god it was so obnoxious. I beat him using Bloodhound's Step on the Misericorde to evade him and just utterly spamming Star Shower and full moon spells while my mimic basically tanked him for me. I'm very glad they toned down and fixed this boss lmao. Like, any hit from either Gaius or the boar would INSTANTLY dismount you if you were on Torrent, glad to see that doesn't seem to be the case anymore lol. So as cooked as you felt after that boss, oh it could have been SO much worse. 😂 I'm enjoying your playthrough Emma. Also, brunette supremacy. 🤘It suits you ☺
Milady without wing stance is more style over substance, it just doesn't do a lot of damage to health or posture. However, I have found style matters much more 😂

Meanwhile the same people who talk crap on your bloodhound fang will use infinite FP Comet Azure and stack every buff they can before each fight. I agree that you should try the new weapons, but not that you have to actually use them. Use whatever you feel the best, the DLC is already hard enough.

They may not be as "meta" or good as Bloodhound, but if it clicks for you they can be a ton of fun also
Bloodhound Fang kicks ass, you should keep using it because sucks to the haters.
But don't forget you can and should definitely use grease on it too. Grease it up with some blood grease... get it extra sloppy.
But Milady is pretty fun... don't forget you can get her sloppy with grease too!
Hi, Emma. Love your work. Something that I would highly recommend doing is completing Ansbach's questline. If you do, then you get him as an NPC summon for the final boss of this DLC. I think you'll probably want to have him, because that boss is VERY difficult. I'm not saying you're bad, I'm just saying that the boss is a serious challenge, and that you might need a bit of assistance from Ansbach.

Having fully upgraded bloody back hand blade has been a close 2nd weapon for me as a guy who uses fully upgraded dual grafted greatswords. You have certainly shiwn me how dope the hounds fang is. And for the longest time my main weapons were dual long straightswords, imagine if i had put a bleed or frost damage on them with a good ash of war. But im so basic and never really use buffs or spells or really optomized my loadout for max damage lol.

The pig warrior about did me in. After i beat it, i had pork for dinner as petty revenge. Havent managed to kill the sunflower. Not sure how one of those will taste for dinner but it might happen. Still trying to kill the godess of rot. I cant seem to do it.
Don’t worry about how someone thinks you should play, this DLC is incredibly difficult in my opinion and I think you should use whatever you have the most fun using and what you think is effective. Also don’t think you’re the only one still playing the DLC, I took my time with my play-through because I wanted to really enjoy this last piece of Elden Ring content and now I’m stuck on the last boss. You got this.

You were really unlucky with that illusory wall near the end. The first time you attacked it, you hit the pillar in the middle.
As for Gaius... He seems to be many people's least favourite boss to fight in the dlc. At least they've changed his spawn point on the second attempt and beyond now. At launch, he would just smash you within seconds of stepping through the fog gate.

Nowt wrong with having a comfort weapon, especially when it's BHF! I felt the same about the Executioners Axe which got me through everything Elden Ring except the last dlc boss ❤
If you have picked it up try the Wing Stance Ash of War on Milady. It compliments it so well, has a huge special heavy attack and kinda suits the elegance of the weapon. ❤

Gaius took me a good while to finally beat he was so frustrating lol and it was before they put him farther back after your 1st fight through the fog wall.

Argh, Gaius is probably my least favourite boss in the DLC, congrats on beating him. As you might have seen when you were editing you *can* dodge the charge attack but it's really difficult and requires very precise timing. At least you get 5 fragments so that makes up for it a bit.
It also took me ages to get to the area you're trying to get to, in the end someone had to tell me. But you do have the access you need to get to there at least.
Milady is fun, I'm using it more and more now. There's an Ash of War that goes well with it that you can find if you have a look around the balcony right by the site of grace before Rellana.
I love the way the map fits together, it's almost like the original Dark Souls map. As you might have figured out from where you went in this episode you can actually fight Messmer as the first boss of the DLC if you really want to. I love it when they give you loads of options like that.
Great episode once again, looking forward to the next one! Oh and never feel bad about going back to the Bloodhound Fang! It's a great weapon, and I found myself often falling back to more familiar weapons when the going got tough.

Hey sorry about the haters but imo there's no need to second-guess yourself when it comes to your weapons if you aren't really interested in trying out different things and feel more comfortable in a set playstyle, just because some people can't help but be massive losers LOL. And FYI, the notion you had at the start of the video to powerstance two Fang's was actually a very good one 😂 You'd be better off power-stancing two Fang's rather than Morgott's, because you'd double the bleed buildup on the power-stanced moveset. BUT, still wanna encourage you to pick up the Backhand Blade on the Gravesite Plain tho - the Smithscript Cirque is not THE Backhand Blade, which is a far superior weapon and I think you'd genuinely find it really fun. You could basically turn it into a much faster, zippy little BHF if you wanted to lol (just make sure you're two-handing it tho!).
Also GOD, you're lucky you got to fight Gaius after the latest patch. 😭This is my first time seeing the boss after they patched it. Prior to this patch, after the first time he entered through the back gate he would be sitting in the field directly in front of you and charge you down the moment you stepped through the fog, and the hitboxes on the boar were COMPLETELY cooked. Oh my god it was so obnoxious. I beat him using Bloodhound's Step on the Misericorde to evade him and just utterly spamming Star Shower and full moon spells while my mimic basically tanked him for me. I'm very glad they toned down and fixed this boss lmao. Like, any hit from either Gaius or the boar would INSTANTLY dismount you if you were on Torrent, glad to see that doesn't seem to be the case anymore lol. So as cooked as you felt after that boss, oh it could have been SO much worse. 😂

Milady without wing stance is more style over substance, it just doesn't do a lot of damage to health or posture. However, I have found style matters much more 😂
