Hoarse voice treatment will depend on causes of hoarse voice. (If you are asking “why is my voice hoarse?” then check out my previous video, in which I am sharing more information about hoarse voice causes.) In this video, I will share tips on how to treat hoarseness when you overuse your voice or when you get sick with common cold or flu (resulting in vocal fold swelling). This video talks about not only voice remedies for singers but also for other voice users (aren’t we all voice users?).
I will go over three simple steps to treat your voice properly so that you get rid of hoarseness as fast as you can. There are no shortcuts or magic potions. I will also share some hoarse voice treatment home remedy that are scientifically proven. Some hoarse voice home remedies are based on myths so don’t get fooled. If you have a hoarse voice singing or talking can be challenging but there are very simple things you can do to get your voice back.
So, stop asking how to get rid of hoarseness and watch this video about a hoarse singing voice remedy (and speaking voice remedy).

Thank you for watching! What is your first line of defence when you have a hoarse voice? Medications, lozenges, honey? Let me know?
I would definitely say lozenges
what about if your voice is natrually deep n rough
can't use honey allergy to it
Lozenges :)
steamer, lozenges, and vocal resting.
Wow, you really sound like B-MO from Adventure Time. Take that as a compliment.
Thank you for that compliment. I have to google what B-MO from Adventure Time sounds like!
So true!
TRUEEE
Yessssss!!!!
This is very true
Am 16 years old but i swear that every one says that i have a voice of an old man who spent about 80 years smoking 😭🤦🏻♂️
Nazim, that sounds like a very unique voice!
Katarina H. Oh my gosh 😂
Yah
I have a raspy vocie and people think I smoke but I dont
Yep same my voice hurts so bad we had a field trip and I was talking fine yesterday woke up and this happened.
Thank you for sharing!!! So great to find you through YTBosses! I’m just starting to realize how important good care for my
Voice is! Thanks for sharing! Ps. Great HOT script execution 🙌 Just subbed your channel
Thank you and welcome. As a YTBoss, you see things that other people may not notice. I am glad you liked the video.
I have a performance tomorrow and I just got a hoarse voice after a cold. I sound absolutely horrible. I feel like crying because I got the part I wanted in the play I'm doing and I'm about to completely butcher it.
Not sure if this message gets you in time. Steam your voice, drink lots of warm fluids like tea (maybe you can try throat coat tea if you like the taste) and give your voice some rest. I wish you all the best!
I also had to perform yesterday but unfortunately I got a hoarse voice too so they asked someone to replace me because my partner don't want to sing alone😢
@@healthyvoicetips does warm water helps, too?
Magma Breaker 2 I’m sorry. I ended up doing it, but my voice was really quiet. The mic made me louder, so it wasn’t terrible. I couldn’t speak for two days afterwards though. I got through both nights performing.
in the same boat, bby
I'm learning the real definition of rest these days. The whole body needs it - physically, mentally, AND vocally! It's so interesting how it's all connected. Thanks for another great video, Katarina.
That is a very good point. Rest has many faces and our bodies need them all.
Your office is so cute! Love the picture in the background. Great remedies for a hoarse voice.
Ah! I am so happy you like my "office". Thank you for your time, I really appreciate it!
Thanks for the tips, Katarina! I need to give my voice some rest today! Cheers!
Today and every day! Thank you for your comment.
I did not know that Sudafed had this effect on your voice. Great info! Yes, water is the key, too.
Yes, many drugs have known negative side effects on our voices but doctors usually don't talk about it because most people don't need to use their voices professionally (while sick). And professional voice users need to ask about side effects and consult specialist to protect their voices. Thanks for watching and your comment. I really appreciate it.
I just want to say, after searching “emergency vocal remedy” on RUclips, a few irrelevant/off subject videos came up before I found yours - but I’m glad I kept searching! You explained very clearly and slowly the reasons behind every ‘eye-rolling’ tip we might have already heard! And I’m just so much more hopeful after watching this, about the gig I thought I would have to cancel in two days! I have water, manuka honey & ginger tea, orange juice here and am taking it easy with the numbing lozenges from now on! Thank you so much lovely Katarina!
How did your gig go?
Well I’ve been telling people about my miraculous recovery... and that it was all thanks to your video!!! Honestly a miracle. Healed my voice from about 40% to 80%+ vocal quality!! Thank you again
Hi Zazoo, this is such a lovely comment. But I would not call it a miracle. You did it because you now know better what to do in situations like this. I hope your voice have been feeling fine since your gig.
I completely lost voice when I had covid 3 months ago. Not even a whisper could come out. To this day, I have a husky voice and i cant sing. I'm usually a soprano and I'm so desperate to get my singing voice back asap.
have you seen a laryngologist for a voice assessment? Post-covid voice issues can take some time to resolve.
@@healthyvoicetips no, I haven't. My voice has come back a bit after 5.5 months but I'm still hoarse and husky and not clear wuth the lyrics. I can't reach my high c or higher notes like I usually can. It's been almost 6 months. I will look into seeing the specialists. I hope I didn't ruin my vocal cords. Thank you so much for your reply 🙏
Sounds like a polyp. Cant be treated but would suggest extended periods of vocal rest, tons of water, Try an IV with Glutathione. Might bring down the swelling. But mainly, go get scoped so they can see what's going on.

Thank you Subrina and welcome to the channel. I am sorry to hear about your troubles with allergies. Do you have a good doctor who is helping you to find solutions?
Badly need to rest my voice and it gets worst because of coughing. Thanks for the tips!
Rest is important. Especially when you cough. Coughing brings vocal folds together in a very forceful way and prolonged coughing can damage them. So take a break from talking and if you can, suppress your cough.
i have a show tomorrow with a big solo and my voice is going hoarse! i hope it’s ok for the show 🤞🏻

Great advice for singers suffering with the winter flu bugs -
Thank you for stopping by. This advice is actually good for any voice user (aren't we all voice users?).
Thank you for making this video. About five years ago, I was assaulted; strangled to the point of unconsciousness. And every since when I yell, I loose my voice either partly or entirely for a day or two. And then am left horse or scratchy sounding for as long as two weeks. I find it hard to make specific sounds. ie when I try to meow like a kitten no sound, nothing at all. other times I can meow but can't cry like a puppy. Not that I try to meow or make puppy sounds but I don't know how else to describe the tones. I had lost my voice (again from yelling) prior to my injury on several occasiions. And was able to easily clear it up by drizzing honey down my throat going as long as I could without swallowing. Couple times of this today and I'd be better tomorrow. Now... It's helps but doesn't get the job done. I've tried various natural remedies and even resorted to trying modern drugs - the red spray in the bottle. Everything helps some, but I felt as though I needed to go deeper, so I hit the search button on youtube "how to heal horse voice" and found this video. Already, I've learned a few things that I can do to help get back and hopefully maintain a healthy voice. I hope no one else has the same problems as I do, but if you do please reply and let me know what works for you. And I'll post what works for me in reply to this post. Maybe if enough of us post, Ms Katarina can figure out how to fix us!!
FOOTNOTE: It would have been easier for Ms Katarina to make this video in her native language, but she made it in English and did an excellent job, not without effort, but it is seeing her effort to speak clearly and to be understood in my native tongue makes me even more thankful for this video and really appreciate Ms. Katarina's efforts - anyone one puts this much effort in to a video has something important to say!! Everyone hit the subscribe button and let go beinge watch her channel while taking her advice and resting our voices.

Thank you very much for your very kind comment. I really appreciate you taking the time to write it. I am very sorry to hear what you had to go through and still dealing with. I was wondering if you had a voice assessment by a laryngologist. That may the very first step in learning how your voice works, what it looks like and possibly how to help you. It is very difficult to suggest tips if we don't know the details about your voice. I wish you all the best on your healing journey.
When ever am singing my voice always come out with air, what can I do to have a clear and smooth voice?
It takes practice to learn how to sing with clear and strong voice. What have you tried so far?
@@healthyvoicetips i have the same issues.. i do normal vocal training.. and tried straw training too( but that worsen my horseness in sound)

No problem
I am really worried about my singing voice. I have been a singer for many years and over the summer I had a series of bookings close together . After one of them I felt I had over used my voice. Now, two months later I feel I cannot reach the notes I usually can. When I sing for a short time, even if just warming up my neck and through feel dry and tired. :(
Hi Whispering Jim, I am really sorry to hear that you have been worried about your voice. My recommendation is to see a voice specialist, one that can do laryngeal videostroboscopy. It is an examination that will show you and the doctor what exactly is going on with your vocal folds. This is recommended to anyone who has vocal issues lasting more than two weeks. So you definitely fall into this category. If you know what exactly is happening, you can deal with the problem and lessen your worries. If you have any other questions, let me know.
She's so soothing, i wish my doctor would learn from, instead of making me feel stupid
I am sorry to hear that you feel stupid. Knowledge has the power to heal and find solutions. If you have any questions, let me know.
God Bless your Soul. Thank You😇.
Thank you too!

Ive had a hoarseness for almost 2 years. I had severe covid and they had to intubate me for a few days. When it was pulled out, it wasnt very gently. I'm on a worship team, and what I used to sing I cant anymore. I no longer can find my range. 😢 Ive seen an ENT, who recommended shots or speech therapy. I chose therapy. Ive done that for about a year total. Im very discouraged and frustrated.
Thank you
I am very sorry to hear that you are dealing with voice issues. Yes, intubation can really affect the function of the vocal folds. If you are not progressing in your healing, I suggest that you visit the ENT again a inquire about other options. I am not sure what your vocal folds look like or how they function but that would be good to know when deciding about the next steps. I wish you all the best.
@@healthyvoicetips Thank you so much!
I have a competition today. I got a throat infection a few days back. I still have a thick voice due to the infection. I worked really hard for the competition I’ll definitely try these methods. As I really want to win
How did the competition go? And how is your voice feeling?
I’m a smoker but I love to sing and thinking of voice lessons at a local music place.
Do you have a hoarse voice?
For some reason I keep getting horse out of nowhere. And I was able to singer more clear, but now it sounds airy
How long has this been going?
Your amazing
Hi Rayon! What a lovely comment. Thank you!
I had never thought of the adverse effects of drugs on your voice! Thank you for sharing!
Absolutely. Drugs have effects on your voice. I should make a video about it too! Thanks for stopping by!
I had a very smooth voice. But now, it hurts whenever I talk and it's all breathy and weak. I feel like somthing is clicking in my throat. I'm going to talk to my doctor, because it didn't go away for almost two months.
Singing has always played a huge role in my life. I don't remember a day, when I didn't sing. I was in a school choir and I had a great techique. I had no clue, that somday It'll be taken away from me.
I wanted to improve, so I got myself a teacher. At first it was nice. But after a couple weeks, I started to feel my voice slowly getting weaker. It took more and more effort to sing, how she wanted me to. I feel like I was always too quiet for her.
And now here I am, without the only thing, that's ever made me feel worthy.
I think you made a good decision. Go and see a doctor to see what is happening with your vocal folds.
Hey, did you manage to resolve it or any updates please ? Going through similar
I am a teacher but l always have hoarse voice and aometimes my voice will not come out and most often it sounds always always not going out
It is very common for teachers to have voice problems. As you are having troubles talking, I would suggest that you visit a specialist so that he or she can look at your vocal folds and assess their structure and function. Then, you can get appropriate advice on how to manage your voice problems.
I have an indie kind of tone if you know what I mean. My voice is very airy when I sing. This causes a lot of friction in my vocal chords and almost every time after I sing I lose my voice or it’ll get very “raspy”. What can I do to prevent this? Btw thank you so much for these tips!
You are very welcome. Losing you voice after singing or being very raspy is a warning sign that you are constricting too much when singing. You can be breathy but still keep your voice healthy. Try to keep your throat open (false vocal folds open) by keeping a "silent laugh" when singing.
can someone help me to get rid of hoarse voice and it really pissed me off 😔😑 im not a professional singer but i do always love to sing as a church servant. 😭😭😭
First step is to have your voice properly evaluated by a laryngologist.
I would mix a large tsp of honey and some lemon juice in boiling water and sip
Thank you for sharing.
Great tips Katarina and remedies for hoarse voice. Thank you for sharing. .
I am glad you liked them. And thank you for stopping by.

With pleasure!
Thanks. I sing high notes with distortion and after a while I get hoarse and it becomes harder to hit the same notes.
It's ok to sing with distortions as long as it is done in a healthy way. Your voice is telling you that your way may not be the best. Are you working with someone who knows how to teach distortions?
I am so discouraged I like to sing and my voice is staying hoarse i got hoarse in January from allergies and it’s July and I feel well but I’m still hoarse ...
Having a hoarse voice is no fun. I have seen so many people who are really frustrated. But the only way to help is to really see what is going on with your vocal folds. Have you visited a voice specialist who can actually see your vocal folds while producing sounds? Allergies are often a cause of hoarse voice, therefore, speaking to an allergologist is also important. I know that it may be difficult to manage allergies and it may take some time. Talk to your allergologist and tell him about your hoarseness. It is possible that some of your meds can be contributing to your hoarse voice. Good luck.
Katarina H I went to a ear nose throat doctor and he did a nasal test and looked at my sinuses and said I had some drainage but he really elaborate on that and he also did a cat scan of my throat and said everything looked fine there so he sent me home with nasal spray have you ever heard of acid reflux causing hoarseness ?
I went to a vitamin store and suggested for me to try natural orange pill vitamin for acid reflux and my voice is doing some better but still not completely well and it’s been nine days since I started the natural vitamin
Yes, acid reflux is a very common cause of hoarseness. Just imagine, your stomach juices that are very acidic coming into contact with the delicate structures of your vocal folds. Very common.
Recently through prayer I feel that The SPIRIT OF THE LORD lead me (I’m Christian) to understand what was happening with my voice that may help you too. Your room or your house may have mold or pollen... some allergen that is drying your vocal cords. Open your windows and let the air flow if you live in the warm weather... new filters on your air conditioner and air purifiers. GOD bless!
have a cold and was signing to pearl jam all day my voice has gone crazy
Colds and singing for too long (for what you are used to) are common causes of hoarseness. Is your voice better now?
Hot water with a concoction of Tumeric, cinnamon, black pepper, ginger, slice of lime and honey. Plus a touch of green cardamom and cloves.
Thank you for sharing!
Im not having allergies, but I haven't sung in a month and a half, ive sung times here and there, but it's always kind abeen that way, and my voice has always improved regardless, but today when I was singing with my instrument, my voice suddenly felt like there was mucus in the back of my throat, but I've cleared my throat, it didn't work, my voice was still hoarse, and lower, could this be due to dehydration?
I really don't know. It could be dehydration. In that case, hydrate well and see if the symptoms go away. However, dehydration does not cause lasting changes. If you have voice problems for more than two weeks, I would recommend visiting a specialist to see what is going on with your voice.
I sip lemon water. I take the two cough meds in Mucinex---guaifenisin (sp?) and dextromethorphan, and also Benedryl. I breathe my Vicks vaporub scent, and most other drinks I DON'T do. I don't think this is nodes, but I just have a fit with what seems to be phlegm coating my vocal cords or occluding my bronchus. I try warm ups, but sometimes that takes all I've got... And I 'lean' on the microphone. But I have special music tomorrow and the song has a number of held notes---a couple of measures. Honey maybe, but I am diabetic, still... And I pray to be a blessing!
I am sorry to hear that you are dealing with voice troubles, especially when you need it the most. I was wondering if you saw a laryngologist for a voice assessment. They may be able to suggest solutions for you.
I found this very helpful but I am sick and find it very hard to stop coughing and sneezing
Hi Alayah! I am sorry to hear that you are sick. The first step in dealing with a hoarse voice is to deal with the primary infection - whatever you may have. Lots of fluids, sleep or rest, and maybe a hot shower so that you can inhale warm steam (if you don't have a personal steamer). I don't think you can really prevent sneezing and it may be very difficult to stop coughing too right now. Try to sip warm tea throughout the day to help with swallowing the extra mucus that is produced in your throat and nose right now. Good nasal hygiene can also help. Honey in tea apparently can help to decrease coughing too. Try and see if it helps. And if you need medication, then talk to your doctor. I hope that your infection will go away in a few days! Hoarseness should go away too once your infection is resolved. Good luck.
When I speak or sing with a low tone my voice is so hoarse but when I go higher is perfectly normal... btw i have GERD maybe that's the reason
I wanted to ask you miss that I am just 14 y/o girl and my voice is like male voice I loosed my voice while eating ice and shouting too much and got Adam's apple. Even I can't go to doctor .How can I get my high piched voice back when I was 11-12? Please reply 😭
You wrote this 5 days ago. I hope your voice is feeling better. I would suggest that you monitor how loud you are speaking. And when shouting, don't do it for very long time. If your voice problem lasts for more than 2 weeks, then I would highly recommend that you see a doctor or at least talk to a trusted adult in your life to find a solution.
I had been practicing vocal fry for some days and ever since my voice sounds hoarse and sharp , and it kinda sound very dirty especially when singing high notes.
Vocal fry is the most relaxed way of sound production possible. However, many people do it incorrectly and add constriction to the sound. If you do vocal fry in a healthy way, your voice cannot hurt or sound hoarse or sharp. I suggest that you stop doing it or consult someone who knows how to do it in a healthy way.
Very well. 👍. So anything you would suggest to cure this hoarseness?
Ma'm,if I am singing at the morning time than I can sing more higher so easily but after noon or at evening I cant sing on that higher registers that I can sing in the morning.I don't know why this happens.can you please tell me how to get out of this situation.
I cannot tell for sure, but you may be using your voice in a way that causes inflammation of the vocal folds. When vocal folds become slightly inflamed, they become thicker and therefore high register is most affected. Maybe you use your voice too much, or you use too much muscle effort, or you clear your throat, or you are exposed to environmental irritants ... There are many reasons why this is happening. So, I would recommend visiting a voice specialist and have your voice properly assessed, including a very detailed voice history to find the cause of your problem. Once you know the cause, you can either eliminate it or treat it. I wish you all the best.
Ahhh! I have an audition for a theatre production in a few days! I have to sing, and speak quite a lot for the audition… what do I do? Will my voice be healed by 5 days?
I don't know if it will be healed. But give it your best shot - hydrate well, steam, rest, do gentle vocal exercises (if the voice feels ok), and stay positive!
I have a hoarse voice without infection but sometimes I sing so clearly. How do I keep my voice ready to sing all the time?
Yes, I take a spoonful of raw honey usually but warm water or hot tea always feels good too.
Raw honey, warm water or tea are great options!!!
What about people who are hoarse all the time? Isn't it because of bunions or pollips on the vocal tract?
Yes, that is true. Vocal nodules and polyps are structural changes on the vocal folds that can cause hoarseness. In this case, people who have such changes on the vocal folds need to work with voice specialists to find the right solution for them.
I have cough, my throat is very itchy cause of cough. My hoarse voice is about 3 weeks now. I already take a lot of antibiotics but nothing works. I need my voice back cause we have a lot of gig this month. Please help! 😭😭😭
Focus on dealing with the cough. Based on the little information you provided, it seems you had some kind of infection that caused you to cough. Coughing can be harsh on the vocal folds and cause hoarseness. Speak to your doctor again to deal with the cough. Also, have your voice checked by a laryngologist if the hoarseness does not go away.
Yeah, whenever I sing my voice just kinda stops, its strange
Have you tried to change the way you sing?
I’m trying to audition for a musical at my school but I got a flu and my voice is hoarse
You posted this 4 days ago. How is your voice and when is your audition?
Hi katarina
I’ve had a hoarse voice for a few days now, I’ve been to the doctors and they have said that I have a sinus infection and need to use a sinus spray twice a day, what natural remedies would you recommend?
Hi @Cameron Garbett, if it is an infection, it has to run its course. Just follow the recommendations of your doctors. Use the sinus spray. Hydrate well with water or tea (you can add lemon, honey, ginger or whatever you can tolerate and like). If you can steam your voice that would be a bonus. Don't forget to sleep enough because your body needs rest to fight the infection. I wish you a speedy recovery.
@@healthyvoicetips But wouldn't lemon or acidic foods affect the vocal cords by triggering acid reflux
Is this helpful mam if for example I had an vocal nodules?
Have you seen an ENT with your vocal problem? What was your doctor's recommendation?
I've been hoarse for more than two weeks from using my voice too much one weekend. I've been trying a lot of your exercises, but they aren't helping. I'll do some steaming tomorrow. I haven't used any of the harmful substances or lozenges.
I suggest that you have your voice checked. Having voice issues for more than 2 weeks and not seeing any improvements (even though you are trying) is a good reason to see a laryngologist (a special ENT doctor who can assess your voice and suggest solutions).
Ur vdo is soo good mam
Thank you!
Hello, miss Katarina!
I would like to ask: is gargling saltwater good for voice hoarseness and throat swelling? I always treat my throat post-performance using the said mixture, paired with 3-4 days of vocal rest. Thank you in advance!
P.S. Greetings from the Philippines. I've already subscribed. :)
Salt water will not help with hoarseness because the solution is not touching your vocal cords. Salt water is a natural anti-inflammatory solution so it may reduce throat swelling. But I would say that you should not be hoarse after a performance. Maybe the solution is to change your technique or build stamina to prevent hoarseness when performing.
My voice is currently hoarse. If I continue to smoke my vape would that be considered "steaming"?
Good question but I would say no!
I am going to try it from today onwards. If there would be any improvement then definitely I will inform you.

Do you lose your voice regularly? Or is this a one time incident. In any case, if your voice problems last for more than 2 weeks, see your doctor to have your voice evaluated.

I have a Chronic hoarseness ..... I'm so sad what do i needs to do ??????
I am sorry to hear about your voice problems. How long have you had hoarseness? You say it's chronic, meaning more than 2-3 months, then I would recommend talking to your doctor and visiting a voice specialist (ENT who can do laryngoscopy and videostroboscopy) to see what is going on with your vocal folds.
Wow very nice video New friend here!done with bell thanks
Hello new friend! Nice to meet you!
My voice is hoarse by birth . I wanted to change this and I ended up here . Will this help me as well ?
Not sure Sameera, I would check with your doctor and have your voice properly assessed.
I have to sing a solo song tommorow and i have a little cold and i am coughing a bit. Hopefully eating hard candy for the throat, eating honey and drinking tea im ok by tommorow.
HI Anete, you left a message 3 days ago. How was your solo?
@@healthyvoicetips It went PERFECT. My voice was well again. Best performance of my life (i have very bad stage anxiety). I was performing un front of a few hundreds of people (in front of my whole school) and i perked up the crowd. Got the most cheers out of the whole concert. Thank you for the tips❤️
Ma'am, my voice is becoming thick and bad at low scales, which was not before....how can I fix it?
I am sorry but your question is very general. Do you know why your voice has changed?
@@healthyvoicetips Ma'am I uesd to sing high notes always and sometimes giving more pressure and stopped practicing the low notes....an another youtube channel told me that its near about impossible to cure..... ma'am please help me out,!Is it curable??
Is this video relevant for a singer who has a sickness of cough? Because I’ve been coughing a lot and I miss singing 😭
Yes, it is relevant. I would also add that dealing with the cough is a priority - consult your doctor or find the best ways to deal with the cough. Resolving the cough may lead to resolving of the hoarseness.
I was being having a good and attractive voice till 18yrs.But just because of my loud reading habbit I had lost that beauty to an extent. But now I think that u can guide me and help me to get off this problem. Please reply and give me your suggestions.
Can you tell me more about your voice problems? What is your voice like? What improves it? What makes it worse? Any pain? Are you a voice professional? How much talking/singing do you do throughout the day?
I am an MBA student. We engage in many seminars, debate and group discussion which might result into harder voice probably. As I practice for this too much in a louder voice.May excess practice had changed voice.
I think it's over practicing which had turned my soft voice into hard.I think I should talk less and should avoid to practice in a louder voice. Is this much information is enough madam.
Yes, loud talking or talking for prolonged periods of time can lead to voice problems. When you are engaged in discussions, you may be using very emotionally charged voice too, which may cause some straining and pushing. If you've had these problems for more than 2 weeks, I recommend that you speak to a voice specialist who can see you vocal folds and assess what is going on inside your larynx. I wish you all the best.
I have one swellon vocal card ,can it be cured mam
It depends on the cause of the swelling.
Hey mam plz help i was damaged my vocal cord by singing with fake deeper voice. I can't talk and sing well. My doctor said my vocal cord are congested. He told me my cords doesn’t vibrate well and told vocal exercise will recover me. What does Vocal Cord congested mean? I want to know! He advised me speech therapy and i am going with it. Thank you mam! I really appreciative your efforts❤
I have heard other people talking about "congested vocal folds". However, I don't use this term so I am not sure exactly what your doctor meant. Maybe you can ask him for explanation. But my guess would be that your vocal folds are swollen from the vocal abuse. I would definitely suggest working with a voice therapist who will help you!
@@healthyvoicetips Thank you mam
Hello Miss Katerina,I usually use a throat spray called entertainers secret which does the job of lubricating my vocal cords, but thats it, but I have a problem, for the longest time I have this constant raspy, scratchy hoarseness to my voice and I haven't even done anything for it to be like that, I can't even sing my regular songs which don't require any effort at all let alone wanting to sing lyrical type music, I can't even touch that with a ten-foot pole, and I am very frustrated because I like singing but I can't sing because even when I'm talking I hear it and it's very annoying, so what do you suggest? Thank you for any info and keep up the good work with your great videos.
Hi Frank, if your voice problems last for more than 2 weeks, then you need to go and see a voice specialist who can actually look at your vocal folds and see what is going on. I am sorry to hear that you are having voice issues and cannot sing. I know how frustrating that must be!
@@healthyvoicetipsthank you for your response, do you mean a vocal teacher or like a physician type specialist?
Mam for how long can we take the steam inhalation ? Can we take it everyday for more than 2 weeks?
Very good question. I personally steam once a day, every day. When my voice feels tired or I used my voice a lot during the day, I steam twice a day. You cannot harm your voice. This is only good.
@@healthyvoicetips Thank u mam for the reply..i will continue with once a day regimen then🙂
The best way to hydrate is only with cell food, minerals. Add potassium and celtic salt to your water. Plain water doesn't hydrate.
Also, apple cider vinegar is powerfully healing and hydrating.
Thank you Eve for your comment.
@@healthyvoicetips thank you too, really enjoy your channel ❤🎤🎶

I have a unique scenario I used to be able to sing opera and now I can’t sing anything but alto and I miss my soprano singing falsetto I quit smoking cigarettes and meth in March and I always have had a fight your way through life kinda family so I always have yelled tell the point of not even being able to make a noise and I continued to yell and I just hate feeling trapped inside myself to not be able to sing anymore I don’t know if I just go to a regular doctor or what but I’ve come so far through so much turmoil and I hope I haven’t ruined my voice for good idk I just wanted your professional opinion cause nobody likes to say they use to use any kind of substance but I want to know if it’s even possible to achieve my old voice now idk if I stated everything correctly and I’m embarrassed to even say all this but I hope you get a chance to read and respond to me when you get the chance I’m sorry if I bugged you I’m going through so much after picking the pieces of myself back up and I feel like I’m losing the soul purpose I was born to be and pursue 😢
You are not bothering me. I am sorry to hear that you are dealing with all kinds of issues but I am happy to hear that you are finding solutions. With your voice, I recommend seeing a laryngologist for a voice assessment to know what solutions would be best for you. I wish you all the best. Don't give up!

My voice is deep I can reach some high notes but if I have a hoarse voice it becomes deeper ;--;
Just make sure that you are using your voice in a healthy way even in your lower range. By the way, I like low voices!
@@healthyvoicetips Thanks💜
What should I do every night before I go to sleep. I want to have a more clear voice. Thanks you!
Hi James, that depends on the cause of hoarseness. If the cause is acid reflux, then suggestions like not eating for 3 hours before going to bed, elevating the head of the bed (not just your head), eliminating foods that may trigger more acidity, drinking more water etc. would be appropriate. However, if you don't have acid reflux problems, then these suggestions will not help you. I suggest that you see a specialist who can actually assess you as a whole person and find the cause of your hoarseness.
Katarina H. Thank you!!!
I had hoarse voice because of oversinging fron throat now when even im singing with my chest my voice sounds hoarse and swollen and my very good falsetto is gone due to this

I have nodules on vocal cords my voice is totally changed please help
I suppose you were seen by an ENT as you know your diagnosis. What did the doctor suggest? Usually, the ENTs refer you to a voice therapist to deal with the vocal issues.
@@healthyvoicetips they suggested me for a surgery
