      Vocal rest is somewhat helpful but it is important to deal with the way how you use your voice when teaching/talking. This is a not a quick fix and it takes time to rebuild the vocal habits. Have you been assessed by a laryngologist?

    • @healthyvoicetips
      @healthyvoicetips  2 года назад +1

      Have you been assessed by a laryngologist to make sure that there are no structural changes on your voice? Also, I highly suggest voice therapy to optimize the vocal habits and learn how to use your voice most efficiently to avoid recurrent hoarseness.

    Hi Katarina, I've recently had surgery on my vocal cords and had a cyst removed. I've been told I can sing after 2 weeks of rest post op, but I'm worried that I might damage or do too much too soon. Do you have any advice or videos that covers such a scenario?
    Thanks

      That is a very good question. I don't have any videos on that topic because it is very individual. They will be able to give you more detailed instructions on how to start singing in a way that will support vocal health.

      @healthyvoicetips  Год назад +2

      I am very sorry to hear that your wife is dealing with a voice issue. Without knowing anything about you and your wife and what you have tried, I always suggest speaking to a laryngologist who has experience with voice problems. Sometimes, regular ENTs don't have enough experience. Find a specialized voice centre where they help professional voice users. They will have most experience there. Or a university voice centre where they often have the most current knowledge about voice. I wish your wife all the best.

    • @healthyvoicetips

      Hi Nina, I am not sure. If your hoarseness is caused by your medical problems or as a side effect of your asthma medication, then getting rid of hoarseness completely may not be possible. But there is always room for improvement. So, I would suggest talking to your doctor and telling him or her about your voice issues. I would also suggest that you visit a voice specialist and start looking for solutions with someone who understands voice. It may take some time to find the right solution but if you don't try anything, you will never know. Good luck.

      Joyti, I found your comment only now. How are you doing? I cannot tell you if you need a surgery or not. You need to trust your doctor in this decision because he or she assessed your voice. But if you are worried about getting the vocal nodules removed, talk to your doctor and share your worries. Ask if you can try voice therapy before surgery to see if it improves your symptoms. Many people can resolve vocal nodules with voice therapy. Have this conversation with your doctor and see what your options are. Good luck.

    Is it possible to get voice back which is lost by shouting or speaking so loud???

      Hi Fozia, it depends. But in most cases the answer is yes. If you have voice problems for more than 2 weeks, you should speak to a specialist.

    I have a Raspy Voice for couple years now so all these would help me out to clear it up?

    • @healthyvoicetips
      @healthyvoicetips  4 года назад +1

      I am not sure if this will help. If you have a hoarse voice for 2 years, the first thing I recommend is to visit an ENT to have your voice properly assessed. If you don't know why your voice is hoarse, you can be trying things that will actually not help your problem.

      Hi Beenish, I can feel your pain! Not being able to use your voice as before the operation must be very frustrating. Speak to your doctor, who can explain what the expectations are for your recovery. Also, s/he can refer you to a speech-language pathologist who can help you find your voice again. I hope you are feeling better soon!
