In 2015, after Total War: Warhammer was announced but before it released, Creative Assembly announced that they planned to create a trilogy of Total War: Warhammer games.[1]
In 2016, Russian data-miners discovered plans in the Total War: Warhammer game files for a third game featuring Khorne, Nurgle, Tzeentch and Slaanesh as factions.

Total War: Warhammer is part of Creative Assembly's grand strategy Total War series. Set in the grim, high fantasy world of Warhammer Fantasy, Total War: Warhammer pits many unique races in a struggle for domination of the Old World. Soldiers clash with magic and monsters, as factions are locked in battle. But beyond this conflict lurks a larger threat: The forces of Chaos descend from the north to bring ruin and destruction, at the behest of their dark gods.
Total War: Warhammer II takes the battle to the New World across the sea, where new races fight to enact rituals and control the Great Vortex. Total War: Warhammer II is a standalone game, fully playable on its own. However, players who own the first game or DLC will find that it carries over and can be combined with the second game, for one epic experience in campaign and multiplayer among us.

This is an actual event that happened in Gotrek & Felix SkavenSlayer and it's a part of the Gotrek&Felix series I'll do after 100K subscribers
*+Let's go to 100K Subscribers this year! Subsribe to Support this Channel!*
i just finished the skavenslayer audiobook yesterday, great narrator, and hilarious book. author does a great job
So I guess this means Gotrek's grandmother was an elf after all. Must be an interesting story there.
Sadly, you havn't make in scene the brilliant plan of thanquol, who is a win/win plan ! (?)
@@aneishinobinomono Skavenslayer was probably my favorite one. The narrator also does voices in the game as well.
THANK YOU! This was every bit as hilarious as I expected it to be. Im sure you planned this video a long time ago, but I also recently suggested it, so coming it to reality so soon was amazing.
The Nuln school, accustomed to such destruction, began reconstruction the next day
Sadly in lore it was never reconstructed. They couldn’t get the funding.
cuz' cuntess Emmanuelle wanted MORE BALLZ@@karlfranzemperorofmandefil5547
They never rebuild the building. Instead, they build a new, bigger one, so you are kinda correct but also wrong since they built an entire new college
@@karlfranzemperorofmandefil5547 Franz eventually funded it when the Storm of Chaos came around. Realized he needed more artillery
This is turning into an actual lore channel.
Always has been
Memes are always the deepest lore
He annonced he will do videos about gotrek&felix adventures
This channel is not a meme, its actually WH lore 😂
This…. Would not be a bad primer for someone wanting to get into
Warhammer
Gotrek speaks like a true engineer. Since he is one. Colleges can be rebuilt and this one faced an honourable doom.
Honestly, knowing Empire and their tendency to burn down the places of learning (Colleges of magic burned how many times again?), I would be suprised if this one wouldn't be back with extra reinforced structure in a week or so
@@soldiersPL that I don't know. One would think that at least the Bright Order might build with asbestos
@@robinhauschild-nocker6380 Trying to make the Bright Order place of business inflammable is just seen as a challenge.
@@robinhauschild-nocker6380 Sienna: Challenge accepted!
@@robinhauschild-nocker6380 Also put a "no summoning Karanak" Sign.
Funniest part is that the skaven attack on Nuln at the end of the book would have absolutely steamrolled the city if all of the clans' previously-enacted plans weren't ruined by Gotrek and Felix . . . but the only reason the duo knew about any of them in the first place was because Thanquol kept ratting out his allies through anonymous letters like the one in the vid because he wanted ALL the credit for sacking Nuln.
I mean kind of. The attack would have been ultimately repelled because Gotrek couldn't be slain by any amount of Skaven. They would just swarm him until their morale broke and the city would have been saved SpongeBob style
Thanquol is the embodiment of the skaven mentality
@@kompatybilijny9348 True, Gotrek would have made it through, but Nuln would have been well and truly gutted in the process. At least by softening the blow via derailing all the ratmen leaders' schemes, there were still civilian survivors left when the dust settled and a city to rebuild.
Thanquol was shooting himself in the foot every second, even when by random chance the duo encountered him during his next assignment he thought conspirators in Skavenblight had sent them to beat his ass XD
Typical skaven behavior, nothing to see here.
Remember the first few books were written before Fantasy adopted 40k's tech regression stick and started being more overtly grimdark, back when skavernslayer was penned, steam tanks weren't a super rare relic from a single genius limited to a few configurations, they were a new piece of cutting edge tech with high costs, which is a better explanation for why you can't field a large amount of them as the retcon didn't account for stuff like steam-powered mounts, basically robot horses, seriously look it up that's a thing.
I prefer this OG lore,
where people could be silly and its not just a simple black vs white story where white is a horrible shitshow and constantly on verge of death.
They did look up for it in recent changes due to Total War Warhammer, in new lore Steam Tank production secrets are just guided by Altdorf engineers and they know how to build them, but no one else
@@ivanmayorov5252 Ah yes Total War hallowed be its name
If i reme ber the steam powered clockwork horse keeps breaking.
@@ivanmayorov5252 TBF persnickety "craft-secret" mindset was a very real thing IRL. I've read a mid-1800s treatise on firearms whose author bemoaned it lingering to his day and obstructing fruitful exchange of ideas...
At that point tarriff should be in charge of the animated adaptaion of the books, or he should just direct an Hammer and Bolter episode
Tarriff lore videos are much better than Hammer and Bolter
@@Thorgrim_GrudgeBearer_ that's why

Skaven saying "what the shit-fuck" is mandatory.
You also missed the best part for the Skryre Skaven commander, he purposefully posed on top of the tank like he was Napoleon before starting the machine.

Marienburg with their newly delivered Boat Tank: I see this as an absolute win
Skaven Warlock Engineer: Thank you! You are my savior-helper! Wait-Wait! YOU ARE A MAN-THING! DIE-DIE!
A Skaven? Thanking someone sincerely?
@@howdoyoudo5949 Well, he is a nice one.
I can see Skaven helping the "things" kill other Skaven. It eliminates rivals.
It’s thankul he decided to help them since the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Ironically in the books he is revealed to be their boss who gives them the skaven mission to kill other skaven 😅.
Thanquol wrote that letter (and many others) to Gotrek and Felix to trick them into thwarting his rivals, who he was convinced were thwarting his schemes. Of course, he writes letters that look like that so it's immediately obvious it's a Skaven, and although Gotrek and Felix ultimately use the information to stop different plots, Thanquol ends up botching the entire Skaven operation in Nuln because he effectively did a better job thwarting his rivals than any hero of the Empire evet could.
@@YouCaughtCzars Who were not simply rivals, but also all his underlings unless Im mistaken. So he botched his own siege of Nuln. Truly peak Skaven.
@@Grivehn Thanquol is practically the distilled essence of Skavenhood, and maybe cartoon villainy. Which is largely a distinction without difference anyway.
I would love more Gotrek and Felix book moments in your meme format.
Like Gotrek meeting Teclis,
Or the smashing of the harp of ruin
Actually an entire series on Thanquol’s nonsense around the siege of Nuln would be hilarious
Also: Lurk starting a rebellion in Hellpit, one of my favorites in the entire series.
Or Thanquol's big rant when Gotrek & Felix don't recognize him.
@@MinscFromBaldursGate92 Frankly speaking they met Thanquol face to face only once in Nuln before ElfSlayer and G&F never had a chance knowing Thanquol`s name.
And to think that without that letter the Skryre plan to steal the Steam Tank would have succeeded, whoever sent it must be the smartest and bravest person in the world
1:32 So sweet brings a tear to me ear that does.
Oh Thanquol, bless your self sabotaging rat heart. It's thanks to you that Nuln stood as long as it did ❤
It is one of my most memorable moments from the books. I laughed so much as I was reading it
I’m all for more adventures of Gotrek and Felix.
The Skaven Engineer panicking over the controls of the Steam Tank channeled so much 'Blue Scribes trying to cast spells'-energy.
Just started the Gotrek and Felix novels because of Tariff’s videos. Never knew just how much I was missing out. Thank you Tarriff. ❤️
By this point just make a total animation serie of the whole gotrek and felix series
This must be how the animation of "Damage Building" looks like.
This is ironically what I imagine an Elf using any kind technology looks like.
The reason they haven't been able to reproduce any new Steamtanks is because the settlement main building was damaged in the explosion, and now we're waiting for it to repair to get back to tier V
So this is the lost "P-1000 Ratte"
Skaven can create machine guns, poison gas, and even nuclear weapons.
But they couldn't control a Renaissance era steam engine.
Skaven ion paper: Their under empire covers the whole planet and if they unite nothing could stop them because of the sheer number of them.
Skaven in practice: Jackass, Fantasy edition.
I think the best part of Tariff's recreations of Gotrek and Felix's adventures from the William King novels, is that he shows Gotrek being more heroic and helpful to Felix than he actually was. In the book, Gotrek was too busy killing all of Heskit's minions to do any real anything with the Steam Tank and Felix fell onto it entirely by accident when he was on a gantry that collapsed.
That said, Heskit's POV narration during this bit was hysterical, from him nearly suffocating from the gas, getting the absolute tar beaten out of him by Felix, to using prudent Skaven Caution™ to escape from the exploding steam tank by leaping into the "Stew" (the charming euphemism used by the Sewer Jacks to describe the filth-choked fetid waters of Nuln's sewers), while the rest of his minions are slain in the blast.
Now that I think about it, Skavenslayer is perhaps the best in terms of it's villains, because the different Skaven warlords besides Thanqol, Heskit One-Eye, Vilebroth Null, and Izak Grottle (who is more certainly NOT Throt the Unclean with the serial numbers filed off) are simultaneously terrifying, but also really goofy.
Gotrek slaughtering Skryre skaven part with a piss rag will be in the full series and already animated, it was skipped in this video because it made the video way too long
@@Tarriff PLEASE tell me you'll do one on Thanqol's attempt at capturing Countess Emmanuelle at the climax of the book.
after Thanquol comes to Warhammer3 & As I said there'll be a full series of Gotrek & Felix
welp..Thiz gonna be nice Slayer Orc Tom with funny think with Shield thinks XD
In skavenslayer, When I read that the warpstone engineer was slightly smaller than other skaven, it gave me a hilarious image of a literally rat sized skaven on some kind of warpstone powered vehicle to reach the other skavens height, and also having this adorable squeaking voice while trying to sound menacing
Get this man 100k subs already for SIGMAR’s sake!
Thank you for bringing one of my favorite G&F novels to meme-life, Tarriff. Absolutely perfect synopsis!
Best recreation of the Skavenslayer book I have seen. Good job! 👍
"Maybe my grandmother was an elf"
Lmao😂😂😂
This just reminded me that Skavenslayer is literally just one giant ‘Stew’show from start to finish lmao
Lol i loved this scene. And great book, you dont know how much these gotrek and felix shorts make me happy :3
"Middenland conspiracy theory" looks in Boris Todbringer
Thanquol sabotage his own mission like usaul
He didn't want his rivals to get all the credit for taking over Nuln.
Heskit was a visionary, he knew how nefarious Porpoises can be 🐬
This is by FAR my new favourite animation that you've done Tarriff.
The whole tank out of control made me laugh so hard i cried 😂
Ive been wanting this video since the first time i read the original. Magnificent
all according to plan plan
Okay man, You are officially giving me my childhood back, like this has no right to be this good.
I recall there being rules for a skaven steam tank back in 6th edition, piloted by a warlock engineer by the name of Klawmunkast. I kinda hope whenever the next skaven DLC comes with presumably Thanquol and Verminlords, theyll release him and his steam tank mount as a FreeLC.
6th edition is exclusively outside of the current canon for FB though bretonnia practically runs with it since it their last edition in Fantasy.
@@lettuceman9439 as are chaos dwarfs. And vampire coast was originally a few sentences in an old white dwarf. Or how about skarbrands axes, slaughter and carnage, both from 40K?
That is to say, fuck canon the game is cool and will add cool things.
Somewhere out there William King is weeping tears of joy.
Thank you for doing Skavenslayer, Tarriff!
Holy-holy shit this is great stuff.
Hope you get to 100 000 subscribers soon so you will make a full series.
Dunno what's crazier.
Gotrek stopping an out-of-control Steam Tank with an axe-parry?
Or Felix engaging in a fist fight with a Skaven?
If you read the tales of Gotrek & Felix novels, you know this vid was pretty damn accurate... lol
Incredible, better than new hollywood action films 🙂 This pacing, emotions, action, and sad ending.
you are doing to Warhammer Fantasy what Alfabusa did to W40k, lore accurate parody! and I give my highest praise.
Im loving these videos
Âs I just finished the Skavenslayer Audiobook, perfect timing. I hope Tarriff will also show us a certain ball scene with an astonishing skaven costume.

I just heard Skavenslayer as a audio book a few weeks back, and this part had me in absolute stitches.

Loving this series!!
Because of you, I want a series (animated or real) about Gotrek and Felix, then to read the saga.
Dont forget: no one being has saved the world from being overun by skaven as much as Thanquol.
Verily he is the embodiment of what it means to be Skaven.
Fun fact. They are both right. In Manslayer it was revealed that the college was never rebuild, but they built a new, larger one, while Malakai used the ruins of the old one as his workshop.
The tanks were still produced tho, and it is actually thanks to them that the students and professors got new building.
Would be funny if the next time they are in Nuln in thrones of Decay the students would be thanking Gotrek and Felix for getting them a new, bigger building instead of the old one
You really should do the whole slayer trilogy series (troll/skaven/demon slayer) With this edit i dont thing gw will target you and its super fun to watch.
One of the best parts in Skavenslayer. Absolutely recommend that book to anyone that is into Warhammer.
Just another Tuesday in Nuln
Damn i can only wish to RPG based on Gotrek and Felix adventures. It will so good
I really need to read the Gotrek and Felix books.
At this point, when I feel like some action thrilling movie I came here instead of going to cinema

Man...I really wanna see the fight with Skalandir. Or the fight with the khorne greater daemon on Demon slayer. Those too can be really funny
Please do this whole book there sre so many more funny parts 😂
Basically an average day in both the Gotrek and Felix lives and the College of Nuln.
Holy Fucking Sigmar this is Too Funny! 🤣
Fantastic, please more content from books ❤❤❤
The Fast and the Forious: Skaven Drift
You forgot the part where Gotrek used a piss rag to filter any toxic warp dust
Which would be based on the (very) hastily improvised protection devised against chlorine gas at the beginning of Second Ypres (late May 1915), the onset of serious chemical warfare on the Western Front. Even a wet rag helped as chlorine is water-soluble and further it reacts with urea to produce harmless dichloro urea. Both sides set about devising proper gas masks of course; the German infantry had nothing but chemical-soaked cotton pads at the time and were duly understandably reluctant to advance in the wake of the gas.
I have one question: Is this a canon event? If not, it should be.
canon in the books
Well, to be fair, at least half is literally cannon, and the other half is a pretty good interpretation of the rest of the cannon.
The events happen in the Skavenslayer book
It is. The book Skaven Slayer. Grey seer Tankuol had 5 different chiefs under his control, when he was trying to conquer Nuln. 3 of them (engineer, plague and mutant) tried to take Nuln by their methods (steal tanks, make plague, make little mutant rats). Every time Grey Seer send an anonymous letter to Gotrek and Felix, telling them about this plans. Later chiefs themselves send latter about Tanquol plan
@@user-is9gw8vq5i The reason why the Skaven haven't taken over the world in a nutshell.
God I remember this part of the book. Truly a perfect example of a Clusterfuck. I loved it.
In the meantime, there's no hard cap for steam tanks in the game. More so, one can even construct a modified version.
Felix getting in the steam tank was even more ridiculous in the book. He basically Tarzan'd into it iirc.
I am hoping for a video about that time Thanquol learned the truth about this greatest enemies not known who he is...
Fun fact: it's suprrisinly accurate to book lore. Heskit one eye has an idea to replace the wheels with treats so it's cannon that skaven would make irl tank out of it or similar, just warpstone version
In book it start when Heskin accidentally crushes a poison wind globadier and his globe falls on the ground and breaks. The gas spreads, and chaos ensues. The jezzails start firing on Heskin in the tank "mistaking" him for an enemy (in skaven there is no surety if it's actually attempt on Heskit or just mistake) and Heskit ofc suspects treachery and goes bananas killing his own soldiers. Gotrek tries 1v1 the tank after Heskit is an idiot and thinks he can crush Gotrek with the tank. After Felix gets into the tank, almost pulps Heskin on the steam tank insides, drives the tank into sewers and near a vast skaven horde (not on purpose mind you) and after it starts to go critical Felix and Gotrek book it out while Heskit goes for a swim in the "stew" (sewer refuse of Nuln with foul vapors out of it). The tank explodes, killing a lot of reinforcing skaven, and foil Heskit
Yes!! Lore!!
For a moment I though Felix will befriend that rat.
Gotrek was stopping that steam tank like an absolute unit
You know I wonder what would happen if skaven attempted to steal malakai
