Early development
In 2015, after Total War: Warhammer was announced but before it released, Creative Assembly announced that they planned to create a trilogy of Total War: Warhammer games.[1]
In 2016, Russian data-miners discovered plans in the Total War: Warhammer game files for a third game featuring Khorne, Nurgle, Tzeentch and Slaanesh as factions.

Total War: Warhammer is part of Creative Assembly's grand strategy Total War series. Set in the grim, high fantasy world of Warhammer Fantasy, Total War: Warhammer pits many unique races in a struggle for domination of the Old World. Soldiers clash with magic and monsters, as factions are locked in battle. But beyond this conflict lurks a larger threat: The forces of Chaos descend from the north to bring ruin and destruction, at the behest of their dark gods.
Total War: Warhammer II takes the battle to the New World across the sea, where new races fight to enact rituals and control the Great Vortex. Total War: Warhammer II is a standalone game, fully playable on its own. After 12 years in the US Navy, can confirm.
Also, I shave my head, but haven't taken the Slayer Oath.

Long Drong, who as his name suggests was a rather tall Dwarf and claimed a dubious line of descent from Drong the Hard, a legendary Dwarf Ancestor known from many sagas, began his career as a Dwarf seafarer in the seaport of Barak Varr. He worked his way up from cabin Dwarf to captain of the Dwarf trading ship The Barrel of Ale which brought fine Dwarf brews by the sea route to faraway colonies.[1a][4a]
"Slow and steady" was Long Drong's maxim, and he gained a reputation as a safe pair of hands. That was until one terrible voyage around the coast of the pirate isle of Sartosa off the southern coast of Tilea. A storm blew up, the worst storm seen for a hundred years, and the ship foundered on the treacherous rocks. Although the crew were washed up on the shore, the entire cargo of rare Dwarf ales was lost.[1a][4a]
This disaster was something no Dwarf could bear, and no self-respecting Dwarf captain would wish to survive. Long Drong knew his career as a Dwarf trader was over. He resolved to become a Slayer on the seven seas and to seek a heroic end worthy of a saga. His crew, who were just as shamed by the loss of the cargo as their captain, followed his example and swore upon their ancestors to lead a life as roving Sea Slayers until a worthy death ended their shame and redeemed them in legend.
Having thus sworn, Long Drong, now known as "Long Drong Slayer," trekked inland to his destiny, which was to become the most notorious pirate ever to lurk on Sartosa. His first act was to storm the stronghold of the dreaded pirate Capitano Sisicco and capture his fortress, Sissico's parrot (which he named Bitsy due to its habit of saying "bits o' gold"), Sissico's ship, and enough plundered booty to turn it into something a Dwarf could be proud to sail.
The ship is now a testament to Dwarf engineering and also doubles as a battering ram. With the latter, Long Drong hired Dwarf craftsmen to rebuild the flimsy vessel, not sparing the iron. He also hired Dwarf smiths to forge cannons on the vessel, which Long Drong named The Fair Fregar after a famous Dwarf maiden of Barak Varr, rumoured to be extremely beautiful. A figurehead representing her was carved by the crew. Unfortunately, neither Long Drong nor any of his crew had ever seen a real-life Dwarf maiden, so they had to rely on their imagination and hearsay. The result, parts of which were shod in brass, made an awesome ram on the prow of the ship

@@bigblockman11 The lore just says that it had very protruding bits useful for ramming. I always imagined it meant it's a figure of an otherwise fairly normal woman with unrealistically large breasts. You can decide which interpretation you prefer
@@bigblockman11 Well, we do know what actual Dwarf women look like (and it's not half-bad, especially since they don't have beards).
I'd wager they modeled the ram after some statues they knew, like those of Valaya, as well as those of Ancestors, since they are rather important to Dwarfen culture, rather than just a male Dwarf with tits.
Sadly, we have no idea how Long Drong's ship looks like, since we have no art or minis of it, because it sounds like an impressive piece of engineering. A Human vessel refurbished by Dwarfs, and heavily upgunned and up-armored.

There’s a severe lack of the most important Long Drong Lore: He and his pirates drink rum so foul that it causes them to constantly fart toxic gas in battle.
And that they are festooned with guns, meaning they just pull the guns out instead of reloading.
@@nikoladedic6623 that's implied with the whole pirate thing, it's something they really did. Way more efficient to carry half a dozen flintlocks than try to reload mid boarding.

@@Grivehn They have a wedding ritual where they need to wrap their beards around their possible wifes so the family of the wife are fattening them up for that, because they also have another ritual where the husband needs to give the family of the wife as same amount of gold as she weights.

They would probably have the opposite reaction to a human surviving drinking bug man's brew, remember it's considered strong by dwarf standards and people like the phoenix king and Felix being able standard small amounts of it was a major cause of respect amongst dwarfs.
Unfortunately the ship that Long Drong was sailing was call the Unsinkable The 2nd (Approved by Malakai Makaisson!!!)
This has inspired me to play a Sartosa campaign where Captain Sisicco gets his revenge! Imagine it now: Sartosa holding every single dwarf hold in the world.
Oh good lord. This is actually inline with the lore entry for them. Even their ship's dreaded figurehead that is more terrifying than what any chaos or dark elf ships can put out. But I guess we all now know why he just randomly decided to storm the stronghold of Capitan Sisicco. It was all over a barrel of Bugmans....
So the pirate's treasure was real. First the Venus, and then Captain Sissy-co haha gold indeed

I love how Dawi unironically think losing ale is the equivalent to losing a loved one and worthy enough of a crime to take the slayer oath (read, kill themselves indirectly)

Honnestly I believe that Long Drong Silver will be in Tilea Dlc but I'm happy that dwarves have such favor. No grudge no more. My childhood take lives with Pirates Slayers. But now Tilea and Bretonnia need a proper gameplay and possibility like dwarves and the game will obtain perfection.

Female Dwarfs don't have beards, they also consider heftier brides to be more attractive (and they're LITERALLY worth their weight in gold for a dowry) and braid their hair rather than beards. Surprisingly there's not a lot of sexism in dwarf society, with women seeming to do whatever they want... though usually in civilian capacity for their aforementioned importance. Also fun fact if you can have your beard around her waist you are considered to be very masucline... which also leads to the aforementioned "She needs to be WIDE" thing.
