    Great video! I just got back into the hobby and picked up a Granite. One of the tips I saw on a forum is to pull the lipo velcro straps ALL the way out of the chassis and reverse them. The battery seems to be a lot easier to get in and out with the plastic tie down loops against the chassis wall rather than the stock position by the driveshaft.

    I used black mastic in the corners of my body its worked really well. It does add weight but not too much. Adding some 10mm offset adapters to the axles and some mx28 wheels makes a pretty big difference to the handling, much more stable at high speed, not as twitchy. I love my granite it took A LOT of abuse to break only the front skid plate where it mounts to the bumper, super cheap and easy fix. Defo gonna upgrade the bearings in the steering or do the hot racing bellcrank. Nice vid thanks!! ✌

    You melt the pellets in hot water and they become like silly putty and you mold them around the drive shaft. I use the same pellets to fill cracks in the lexan body. Works great.

    You probably already know this but you can line the inside of your truck bodies with some of that drywall tape with holes. Glue gun a few dots to keep tape secure then rub shoe goo all over the tape and fill it all in. That's Kevin Talbots idea but he's mentioned it's helped his bodies last longer. I did it too the sides of the Hoss think it helped with weak sides.

    To get the batteries out easier I place a short strip of ribbon under one of the batteries to pull on. The others are then easier to remove after one is out. The lid still closes easily with the ribbon in the compartment.

    Had the same problem with the tailgate bed area on my Arrma Granite as well. I just used double sided servo tape & a sheet of foam rubber padding cut to fit & stuck to the rear shock body mounts. Problem fixed. No more cracked tail beds! Definitely going to replace all my bearings next (possibly with a Fast Eddie bearing kit)

    Very helpful video. Thanks. I used a combination of fiberglass joint tape (from the hardware store) and Shoe Goo for the interior of my body and it has held up great. Def a cheap way to make the body last longer. As he points out in the video the rear of the truck takes the most beating and I just did several layers of Shoe Goo, allowing it to dry, on the underneath of the where the top of the tailgate on the body is. I use Gorilla tape to help seal of the power module from dirt coming in and that has helped as well.

      That gap is actually there for a reason. Ironically to allow dirt and debris to escape. If you ever tape over it you'll see dirt stuck to the inside of the tape whereas if it wasn't there it'd escape. Arrma knows what they're doing.

    I wish the tape of the hole in the gearbox was more emphasised. I lost a motor and spur gear because of it after two weeks of use and another guy I know after two days. Others in the group with the same 3s roc car taped the gap and have no issues though running through similar conditions. It should be stressed more as this is a must do in some terrains and car fails quickly without it. ☹️ Not sure why I don’t find videos on this specific critical fix more often.

    • @Boogie_the_cat
      @Boogie_the_cat 2 месяца назад

      I don't get it. The hole in my gearbox is cut out on the sides of the gearbox, higher up than the bottom of the spur gear. So if I cover it with tape, the gear is rubbing directly on the tape. Maybe I have a different model than you guys, because unlike in the video, only my spur is exposed, not the pinion as well.
      If I taped over the hole, the tape directly interferes with and rubs on the spur.

    • @mnakash77

    Thanks for the tips razor! I was wondering when looking to get new bearings for my other trucks do I just measure them with a digital caliper? Like measure the width and thickness? And do you recommend a good place to buy bearings from? Thanks buddy.

    • @RazorRC
      @RazorRC  5 лет назад

      Yeah, it's Inner Diameter x Outer Diameter x Thickness. The best way is to look up the stock part number from the manufacturer and the part should tell you the dimensions. Then you can buy a bearing of the same size. If that's not available, then I use digital calipers. I like to buy from Avid if I'm buying a lot of bearings, or I buy Protek bearings from amain.com if I'm just buying a few.

      @@LawrenceTimmeyou don't have duct tape or scissors laying around? What are you doing in RC if you don't have tape and scissors, you must live under a bridge or in your dead grandma's basement, illegally.
      I don't know one person living in America who doesn't have tape and scissors.
      I'm pretty sure they give you tape and scissors when you come out your mother's womb. It's the law.
      If you don't have those two items, maybe you should be in a different hobby. I only use tape 80 thousand times a month, and scissors 90 thousand times a month.
      Go play with sticks and rocks and play baseball with that, or kick the can. Cans are free, you find them on the side of the road, or you can steal them from hobos after they drink a bottle of Thunderbird and pass out in a puddle of their own piss.
      👆🏽 There, I have you three COMPLETELY FREE pro-tips on how real humans live their lives, outside of Grandma's basement. You should try it some time.

    Just don't get the 2wd brushed Granite. It is the worst truck I've ever owned.

      Should've grabbed the Brushless BLX version. Best basher for the money IMO. I just grabbed one on sale about two months ago. Horizon/Arrma had them $50 off. At $250 it was too good of deal to pass up! 👍

      By the time you take it apart to get the bush out to find out it might be easier to order the alloy hot racing one from ebay and fit that 👍

      @@shelbyseelbach9568 no I just have a roll gorilla tape handy because I actually do things in life. And instead of 'lexan' I just cut a piece of rubber foam and GORRILLA TAPED it to the body. Crazy how being a proactive human being leads to logical solutions for the average man. However I may be speaking to a child. In that case I forgive you.

      @@shelbyseelbach9568 besides that point, you shouldn't tape over that gap anyways. It's there to allow dirt and debris to escape. Lil pro tip for ya. And it's free.

      @@BOOGiNS Please tell me where I can get free gorilla tape, wise old man.
      It's either free or it's not. If you don't mind being fed bullshit, that's your choice. I have no idea what y'all ate during the great depression, must've been rough. I understand the definition of free, you should look it up. If you have trouble with that simple task, let me know.
