You don't have to go through all that trouble I have a 95 s10 replaced the stereo 4 times I just took the two top screws out at the insturment panel and pulled the bezel right out you have to lift it over the emergency button but it will come out without taking all those screws out from the bottom and you don't have to drop the steering column like I said did it 4 times

TheJuggernaut72 just installed a new stereo on my 97 jimmy. Just unscrewd the two top screws were the gauges are. Then unsnapp the panel you can put it the side. My first time doing this was pretty straightforward.

Agree 💯. I just installed a new after market radio in my 96 Blazer. I watched this video and thought " damn that is a lot of work". Then I read the comments and followed what you said. Piece of cake. 2 screws and then remove the front panel. Was a little tricky to avoid breaking the flasher switch or tear the gear shift boot. Having the right radio install kit for a double DIN and a wire harness for your make/model also make this job much easier.
I think it is also worth noting that the OEM antenna plug is not standard and may not plug into your after market radio antenna. This is the problem I had soni bbn ordered this adapter from Amazon. www.amazon.com/dp/B07SX6MTV6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_9ZJF3SJY178P6XWQA0NQ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
After the adapter, everything worked perfect.

Nice concise, detailed video. Looks like a straight forward job. Leave it to GM though in using a different connector release for every pigtail! Sheesh!!!

You can buy that whole OE emergency/signal switch assembly with cruise control for about $45-$50 on amazon.

This video is helpful if you are looking to drop the steering column cause it’s a pain in the ass to remove the cluster without doing this. But yes to install the cd player you don’t have to go to all this trouble. Just shift the gear lever all the way down, tilt the wheel all the way down the only tricky part is getting the dash piece over the hazard switch but also the rubber booting that is on the shift lever can hang it up.

All of this is unnecessary. Unscrew the screws at the top of the guage cluster and pop the surrounding plastic off and you have access to the stereo. This guy was on some bs😂

Most people prefer Camaro or Firebird seats of similar years, ive also seen swaps from Cavaliers, Sunfires, Grand Prix, etc. Lots of choices
