    At 2:23, this is the EVAP system fuel tank solenoid, not the emissions solenoid. It is normally open to all air into the activated carbon canister until enough drive time has past to close it and open the purge valve on the engine with the green port used for diagnosing EVAP leakage. During refueling, hydrocarbon rich air exists the tank at the highest spot to capture organic fumes from the tank. This allow refueling without constant shut off at the pumps handle. The EVAP system is completely separate from the emissions system except during purge as extra fuel vapors come into the engine without coming from the injectors and no code is set as the PCM’s fuel mapping is disabled during this time & also if above 80% of full or 10% below empty.

      First of all, I think this is more for the "money no object" kind of builds. But beyond that, this kit was likely VERY expensive to produce (in material + R&D). $4500 seems pretty reasonable to completely redesign the suspension of a truck for a very niche market.

      KOSH Naranek It’s all a matter of preference. As well as beauty is in the eyes of the beholder . You never get what you put into a car, Any good car guy can tell you that. It just is what it is. I’m in the process of putting close to $5k Worth of powertrain in my $1500 S10. I’m sure I’ll be another $1k in suspension. If I’m lucky I could squeeze 4K out of it when I’m done, but I don’t care because you don’t plan on getting rid of it. It’s not a lease. You can’t put a price on minitruck fun. Even if you have the newest s10 (04) you’d be insane to trade it in. They’re not even in the books anymore and most dealers will end up junking them which is terrible shame. Sell them privately.

      lol, Looks like the truck in the video is a zq8. Kind of dumb the website says it won't fit a 03 xtreme. However, 03 xtreme and 03 s10/sonoma in general compared to the truck in this video have a different vapor canister with a wider canister bracket and a plastic fuel tank instead of steel. The vent valve on an 03 is located behind the canister just inboard of the frame, so its already out or the way. But with the different canister, it may need to be relocated all together to fit this kit.

    • @drummin84

      No 4wd s10's use torsion bar front suspension. There is an axle driveshaft where the spring would be located.

    • @DomesticTaskForce
      @DomesticTaskForce 5 лет назад

      @@drummin84 still doesn't mean you cant cut out the torsion bar cross member and put coil overs to the factory shock location like this one. And this may be one of a few kit that does work with the front axles......

    Cant understand why people like lowered trucks looks like the coil springs and shocks are bad when lowered rides rough you feel every bump in the road it banges and when hitting bumps scrapes on driveways and inclines the only thing low that is right are sport cars corvettes mustanngs ect but to each its own

    • @ridetechtv
      @ridetechtv  2 года назад

      I bet you would be surprised just how good these truck ride. when a vehicle is lowered properly they ride just as good, if not better than sports cars.

      @adventures223 2 года назад

      @@ridetechtv true i am sure they ride good but its harsh on bumps and scrapes on inclines and terrible if you had to drive in the snow or off road or tow i just like the way a 4×4 sits but to each there own i have a 2000 chevy s10 extreme and i am lifting it 3 inches i got it for very cheap with a 124000 on it shoul of just sold it or traded it for a 4×4

      @fatbongripz4207 2 года назад

      that's why a lot of people who are lowering their trucks go with airbags. that way if you don't want it low you can still have stock ride height. people that lift their truck are trying to compensate for something in my opinion. small dick big truck
