I was searching for the truth for months. Listening to Dawkins, Hitchens and Christian apologetics. In the end, I was walking down the street here in Dublin, Ireland and I said to myself, and I really really meant it: I’m NEVER thinking about this again and I’m going to do what I want in life. At that very moment two girls approached me and said can we talk to you? Pissed off with it all I said “yeah what do you want?” She said to me “if you want to see the kingdom of heaven you have to become a born again Christian”. The timing of that, I knew even if I didn’t want to believe it - God spoke to me and gave me the answer at the very moment I’d given up. Why did God answer me after I’d given up I wondered? Because if those girls came up to me at any other time I would’ve questioned it because I was in questioning mode. God waited until he knew he would really get through to me. I didn’t want to believe it that I had to become a born again Christian. I since did and inviting God and the son who sacrificed his life for me was the best thing I’ve ever done. That’s my truth. God bless.
I remember walking whilst talking to a colleague of mine on the phone. My colleague had been down beaten and not motivated to carry the out tasks he had been set to complete. He was about 10 miles away but it didn't stop me visualising his environment and I started to encourage him to notice the beautiful moments he was in. It was a gorgeous day, the sun was out the birds were singing, the bees were buzzing. I knew he was surrounded by lush peaceful countryside and he had the freedom to work at his own pace without somebody hassling for productivity. Within no time he was good to go. I put the phone down and then realised how high a state I got off my own words. The next six people stop me to talk to me. I don't mean a passing hello I mean stop me because they wanted to have conversation with me. It could be said somebody you dont know stopping you for a chat is quite normal. Two is nice. Three is odd but six separate people at six different times and in a row, wow! That felt like an incredible experience. I suppose I am saying you get yourself in such a state that you can attract people that are in some or another way looking for that energy you are radiating. 🙏
“if you want to see the kingdom of heaven you have to become a born again Christian”. I guess it really sucks for all the people who lived in a time period prior to when Christianity and the concept of heaven were invented.
Joe, actually, drinking wine in those days was safer than drinking water because wine is cleaner. So most people preferred wine. Drinking wine was not just to get drunk, it was safer.
Of course they all got drunk despite how much they put water in. I think Pythagoras had created a cup that when it was filled more than a certain volume, all the cup emptied from a small hole in the bottom.

In other words, Jesus Christ and all the others upon whom this character is predicated are personifications of the sun, and the Gospel fable is merely a rehash of a mythological formula revolving around the movements of the sun through the heavens. ... .

@@tnl-warrior3218 The conversation is about whether not Jesus was an actual historical figure. Joe is applying a reasonable amount of scrutiny and skepticism about a person who likely existed but whose deeds where clearly exaggerated over time. For anyone familiar with the world history, ancient world and mythology in general, real people being exaggerated over time and given divine attributes is very common. Some famous example being king Gilgamesh of Uruk, king Arthur and Buddha. Real people who were given divine properties centuries after death Joe's position only seems biased because very few people look at the Jesus tale with the appropriate amount of scrutiny.

S S it’s not about that. It’s about history and being factually accurate. Richard Dawkins can criticize the claims of Christianity all he wants but he can’t spread nonsense about the history of the western world.
S S Again, it’s not that I believe in the Bible. It’s that I believe in what actually happened historically. Dawkins doesn’t even understand the first centuries CE of European history. He has no idea what kind of impact Christianity made on the Greco-Roman world.
I’d argue there’s never been a more influential person in history than that of Jesus Christ. Our modern calendar is based off his birth, the Bible is the most printed book in history, multiple languages wrote and documented his life, largest following of any person in history…. Sorry Richard Dawkins, he wasn’t just a random wondering preacher with a common name. The beautiful thing and also terrifying thing is one day we will know the Truth. Wrong! Our calendar is the JULIAN calendar and was instituted by Julius Caesar. The largest following of any person goes to the BUDDHA who btw existed 500 YEARS before Jesus and is revered by a billion more people.
Richard Dawkins: If Jesus was real, who cares really? It matters because he himself said he was the Son of God. He challenged the status quo of religious hypocrites and preached that he came to bring eternal life and the forgiveness of sins. Now whether you believe that or not is completely up to you, but you cannot deny that Jesus was a real historic figure. I bought the movie a while back, I know it’s not the same, but still breaks it down for anyone who is curious, they will have a lead or starting point on what to research on their own. People actually need to have MORE faith to believe that he didn’t exist with all the evidence provided. The Bible is the only book that has not been revised or rewritten. Science, of course is the study of, is constantly being updated, or revised. Science is a way for people to figure out what God did and learn from it. Joe Distefano sure. Dawkins argues that omniscience and omnipotence are mutually incompatible because he said if God wills A and intends to bring it, he can’t change His mind because then He wouldn’t be omniscient, but if He couldn’t change His mind then He wouldn’t be omnipotent. Dawkins incorrectly assumes that logical contradictions are a necessary knowledge of omniscience. They’re not. For example, a square circle cannot be created because such a notion’s essence is self-contradictory. Divine knowledge also doesn’t work like a chronological thinking process. God is outside of time and if He wills something, it necessarily follows it will occur. Because God is outside of time, all of his decisions occur simultaneously with His will, which so different than human temporality which sees us waiting for things to occur.
@@flamesfan1417 I'm curious how christianity squares the free will idea with god's omniscience and omnipotence without creating a logical paradox. If we have free will to make our decisions but god is omniscience, can he not see the decisions we will make ahead of time and wouldn't that render our decisions as pre-determined? Even if there are multiple possibilities, god can still see them all so how is free will justified? If god chooses not to look, that still doesn't preclude the idea of pre-determinism so why would he stop someone from entering heaven if he already knew all their decisions ahead of time? How does Christian theology tackle this seeming paradox or am I mistaken in recognizing this as a paradox?
abecore2000 you’re right in pointing out this apparent contraction. I’ve come to understand this through understanding one of the classical properties possessed by God along with omniscience etc. - omnipresence, which is that God exists in all places, in all times. Because God is not temporal, He exists today just as He exists 1,000 years ago and 1,000 years from now. Essentially, we separate God’s foreknowledge from our free will. In other words, just because God knows what we will choose to do, it does not necessarily follow that He determined our action. I am Catholic and that’s how I’ve come to understand it - different religions or denominations may understand it differently!

I woke at 4am thinking about this clip. My question is this: if there is a creator of the universe, who made space, time, matter, nature and the trees, seas, mankind and everything…would he not have the power to bend whatever he chose to his will? Similar to a video game designer having the ability to use cheat codes for his video game, why couldn’t a God have the ability to do “miracles”? I agree it would be impossible for Jesus to walk on water, turn water into wine, preform miracles and raise the dead…if he was only a man. It would only possible if he was God in the flesh, using his cheat codes. I could go a lot deeper into this, but this kinda makes since right? I believe it is logical to believe that Jesus could walk on water, because where there is infinite power nothing is impossible. It is only by the grace of God that YOU or even Joe reads this. What if you could actually have a relationship with the creator of the universe who was infinite power? What if he actually loves you more than you can fathom? What if he died so that you can be free from sin? Why not seek him humbly with all your heart and find out for yourself? I assure you there is mountains of evidence that point to there being a creator and him being Jesus Christ. Also, even atheist scholars agree that Jesus was a real dude. He even has genealogy that traces his linage back 41 generations! He is referenced in not only the Bible, but in multiple OTHER religious text. Such as Islam (in the Quran), and several others. Dude I can go on and on about this stuff, just open the door for him to come into your life and I promise he will. He is knocking right now. Historically he was a real person. The Romans left written accounts about him, but the Christian Church is probably responsible for adding in all the miracles he performed.
tjzini People subscribing to a religion telling their subscribers that the ones not subscribing will be tormented for an eternity should be mocked, ridiculed and confronted every hour of the day until they change their mind or die.
I honestly didn’t realize Jesus being a real person was even a point of contention. I get the contention with religion, but he was definitely a real living person? Like our entire chronological structure of time is based on his death? You can debate all day long if he is a prophet, the son of god, or just some regular guy that had a good reputation, but you cannot debate his existence on earth. The dude says the evidence is weak.. how is it any weaker than evidence of Isaac Newton? How about Charlemagne? There is no evidence beyond writings and spoken word, but yet no one questions their existence? Yea sorry folks, Jesus Christ was alive and breathing a couple thousand years ago. You absolutely cannot refute that with any credibility.
Well in case you are interested the chronological structure of time we use was added much, much later, so it wouldn't actually indicate the truth of his existence. Only in the fact that the people in charge were persuaded by the claims made. But the real reason there was thought that Jesus might be a myth is mostly a 19th century idea, where the people of the time were extremely interested in greek and roman myths, and many scholars of the day were intrigued if this might apply to Christianity as well. There were a lot of interesting books and theories put forward. Fascinating to read, but ultimately the evidence went against them, and so we now accept Jesus probably existed. It was more of a movement of a specific style of thought in the late 1800s. Although you might be interested to know that some in the past held to the idea of "docetism", which is a grounding for a lot of the idea that Jesus might have been mythological. I would recommend looking it up, it is interesting, even if I don't agree with it. As for Newton and Charlemagne, I think we have stronger evidence for their existence than we do for Jesus' existence, but we have better evidence of his existence for example than we do of Socrates' existence. It mostly has to do with how long ago it was, and the quality of the information we have. Anyways, have a wonderful day.
Agreed. There are accounts of soldiers that witnessed his death, Roman historians that wrote about this "Christus" guy, and many other accounts were written about Him.
Jesus is real, I have met him and his words is exakt in every point. If you read the bible you can use the words for your success. It is amazing and I recommend everybody to read it and also say yes to Jesus.
@sandman He was 100% not pale. Anyone who thinks Jesus was actually Caucasian doesn't understand the time period or the geographical area he was supposedly from.
@sandman I dident see his color because of his light flowing out of his face and body. But after the meeting I have done a ton of research. And Jesus could apear as his normal look. He has a soft light brown skin but the color he has is only his. One of a kind. Same with his hair and eyes. But to be accepted in heaven it is a must to say with your mouth that you believe in him and what he did on the cross that he died for our sins.
@Mickey Barnyard this is a stupid point religious people try to make... the creation of the universe is an extremely complex question that science has been working on for centuries. A singularity of infinite mass is definitely something yet we as humans cant comprehend it as our construct of time doesnt apply prior to the explosion. Thats why theoretical astrophysicists and mathematicians are working on it. Your God while cute and easy for ancient people to grasp doesnt work in todays world
@Mickey Barnyard define nothing? The current accepted scientific research says the universe was formed from a singularity the size of an atom with infinite mass. This has been mathematically theorized i know its difficult to imagine but as humans as i said not even the brightest minds can fully comprehend as its an extremely complex question as you’re aware. Your creator story is just that, a story, just one of many in the world

First you need to prove your god is real. Then you need to prove he created anything. Good luck with that.
You’re right it’s very close minded and it just throws out the evidence without disproving it and says Jesus didn’t perform miracles. This interview right here is a logical fallacy called appeal to authority. Since the atheistic scientist, who admitted in the interview that other very intelligent men do believe, said Jesus didn’t perform miracles, we have to listen to him? Nah, you don’t. Audeamus I personally have video of where I had a cavity behind my front tooth. I prayed about it and brushed and flossed day. Peroxide mouth wash, regular mouth wash. Went to the dentist, no cavities. My kidney function wasn’t 100%. Prayed about it to Jesus. Had blood work done. Showed up as nothing wrong with my kidneys. A woman I worked with had a kid who needed a pacemaker put in. I prayed about it to Jesus. That Friday my coworker ran up to me and said her daughter would no longer have to have to have a pacemaker put in. Those are a few personal things that have happened in my own life with documentation and video evidence. As for Miracles Jesus did, only one matters concerning who He claimed to be. The resurrection. There were 500 witnesses who seen Jesus at the same time after his resurrection. Paul made that claim. An easy disprovable claim that the Jews or anyone else who hated christians could easily disprove. They never did. The Jews didn’t deny that Jesus’ body wasn’t in the tomb either. They tried to make an excuse as to why it wasn’t there. Anyways if there are 500 witnesses that all seen someone steal something that show up in the court of law against that person. What do you think the chances are that the person who was seen stealing will be found guilty? Eye witness testimony is evidence
Audeamus and not only that. Even the atheist in the video admitted Jesus existed, and no one contests about Jesus being crucified. So why would a liar die for the lie He made up? Furthermore, why would 11 other men who knew him for years and werent even the star of the show, they were followers of the star, all die for a lie if Jesus didn’t really raise from the dead? It’s illogical

I feel like Dawkings seriously underestimates just how important historicity is to the church. Christianity is one of the few religions that can trace its literature and history directly to a group of first founders and many individuals who claim first hand accounts of Jesus' supposed divinity through physical records. It's this reason the Church has managed to hold on to legitimacy and only split due to political differences
That is absolutely not true, the Gospels and Epistles were written way after Jesus would of died and noone actually knows who the authors are. Do you know how common the names "Matthew, Mark, Luke and John" are? The AUTHORS never claimed to of known Jesus, the CHARACTERS do.
@@whatabouttheearth The Gospel is the real word of God but was killed (corrupted) just like its messenger (Messiah) was "killed". Quran is a back up plan of God to counter act the corruption done on the previous scriptures. God revealed this newer version/testament (Quran) away from the people (Jews) who corrupted the old testament and new testament (Torah & Gospel). To protect his word, God chosen and revealed His ultimate revelation to a Prophet who wasn't an Israelite but a person who spoke different language. God ordered this chosen non-Israelite Prophet (Muhammad) to memorize His ultimate words immediately and also instructed his followers to also memorize it. This way, the memorization of the entire words of God's ultimate revelation (Quran) is a tactic of protection from those who corrupted it previously. If the Jews or pharisees or Romans wanted to corrupt the Quran like they did to the old and new testament, they had a lot of difficult task. They would have to learn Arabic and become a Muslim to get a chance to corrupt it again. They also have another problem! Many Muslims memorized the Quran by heart and they would have to kill all those Muslims to get a chance to corrupt it. Because if all the written word of God was burned, all the memorizers will come together to rewrite it again. This is God's ultimate counterplan against the Jews who conspired to corrupt the Torah and Gospel. This is why the Judeo-Christian Zionist alliance hate Muslims today. Because Muslims are protecting God's ultimate word that exposed their corruption of previous scriptures.

@@alexboor7716 Well we do have first hand accounts. Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Peter, etc. But I'm guessing you have no intention of taking their accounts as credible so I'll point this out. the idea that you have to have a first-hand account of someone's existence to believe they existed is just completely ridiculous. Our earliest source on Alexander the great came 300 years after his death, but we don't question that.
He was probably a real person but he wasn’t divine in any way lol if you don’t know that you need to grow up, let go and confront your fears and mortality.
@@mike47734 but as a Christian you do confront your fears and your mortality head on. The argument is that when you place all your faith in Christ, all the things of this world are no longer bounding you. The chains are broken. Are there bad examples of Christians? Of course. But that shouldn’t take away from Jesus’ message. “We must believe in his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as he commanded us” 1John 3:23 I welcome you to really dive into the Bible and study it yourself. Take time with it and ask God for guidance. It won’t be easy and quiet frankly probably a bit awkward if you’ve never done it. But I encourage you to read it. There is a lot you can learn from it my friend. I hope this message finds you well. May God bless you and your family. :)
I thought John 3:16 was "God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, so those who believe in him should not perish but have everlasting life"
The reason Dawkins loses me here is because when asked whether he thought Jesus was a real historical person he responds, “the evidence isn’t strong, of course” as though that’s an obvious fact. This is just academically ridiculous. There’s more evidence that Jesus was a real historical person than there is that Cicero and other great historical figures were actual people. Not least of all, there’s the numerous evidence that many (not a few) of Jesus’ followers died a martyrs death because they were unwilling to deny his existence.
He also implies he's willing to accept that he was a historical figure and doesn't care either way. Also, followers dying for not denying his existence doesn't prove jesus rose from the dead. There's been various cults in the past thirty years where people have killed them selves in the name of a belief. Example: the “Heaven’s Gate” religious cult, whose leaders preached that suicide would allow them to leave their bodily “containers” and enter an alien spacecraft hidden behind the Hale-Bopp comet. The followers may have genuinely believed he did rise from the dead. It's not evidence of the resurrection. Plenty of people were killed or crucified for their own beliefs. I accept that jesus was a historical figure, but I don't accept he performed actual miracles.
Every major political rally I’ve been to had interfaith speakers with prayer to accompany. The idea that most atheists or agnostics give a shit about people’s personal religious beliefs is just wrong. If more focus was placed on the humanism faiths we could uplift this world in so many ways.

The main reason the apostles and disciples had the courage and audacity to do everything they did in the face of persecution wasn't just because Jesus existed, but because Jesus ROSE from the dead and showed himself to them and visited hundreds others in His town. The disciples boldness was decreasing when He died, understandably mourning, but when He resurrected He proved he was Christ the Hope of Glory. ➡After that, he was seen by more than 500 of his followers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have died. ⬅1 Corinthians 15:6

Christianity is about sun worship, the stories about Jesus are symbolic.
He is just a personification of the sun.
The sun "dies" for 3 days on December 22nd, the winter solstice, when it stops its movement south, to be born again or resurrected on December 25th, when it resumes its movement north.
In some areas, the calendar originally began in the constellation of Virgo, and the sun would therefore be "born of a Virgin"
The sun rising in the morning is "the saviour of mankind"
The sun "walks on water" is just the reflection of the sun on water/the sea.
"He cometh in the clouds" is just sun rays.
The sun's "followers", "helpers" or "disciples" are the 12 months and the 12 signs of the zodiac or constellations, through which the sun must pass.
The sun at 12 noon is in the house or temple of the "Most High": thus.."he" begins "his Father's work" at "age" 12.
The sun enters into each sign of the zodiac at 30 degrees, hense, the "Sun of God" begins his ministry at "age" 30.
The sun is hung on a cross or "crucified", which represents its passing through the equinoxes.
The vernal equinox being Easter, at which time it is then resurrected.
The reason why saviour myths are so similar with a godman who is crucified and resurrected, who does miracles and has 12 disciples, is that these stories were based on the movements of the sun through the heavens, an astrotheological development that can be found throughout the planet, because the sun and the 12 zodiac signs can be observed around the globe.
In other words, Jesus Christ and all the others upon whom this character is predicated are personifications of the sun, and the Gospel fable is merely a rehash of a mythological formula revolving around the movements of the sun through the heavens.

Not exactly starting off on a promising note when your chief information source is Richard Dawkins.
@@GerardPerry LOL, my thoughts exactly. Dawkins is a brilliant evolutionary biologist, but a quite poor philosopher
Ravi Zacharias needs to come through and philosophically, theologically, and historically add some fruit and nuance to this one sided exchange.

@@connorduke4619 “quantum etheric, astral, causal particles. The dark energy/matter” LOLL, we have absolutely no idea what dark matter and energy is. We only know that there are gravitational anomalies across galactic scales that do not align with general relativity which is what dark matter is theorised for, and we also know that the expansion of the space time in our universe is accelerating (Our understanding of relativity and the quantum world already completely debunks the so called science that biblical prophets talked about, like flat earth, centre of the universe, creationism, 6000 year old earth or whatever, so they were talking complete nonsense) and one of our best theories for the accelerating space time is that when energy in a field is spread equally accross a distance, then gravity acts in repulsion, so dark energy is theorised to be a form of background energy that is dispersed equally in the universe which is causing repulsive gravity to stretch space time at all points in the universe.
It’s sad that there are so many “church’s” who claim to know Jesus but live in a way that promotes Satan. Jesus was not judge-mental, condemning, or legalistic like countless church’s are. HE LITERALLY HAD DINNER WITH HOMOSEXUALS, PROSTITUTES, and the worst people you could think of. Why?-because he came to call sinners to repentance. You may not be a serial killer, prostitute, or drug dealer, but you messed up at least once in your life. You done at least one thing wrong, whether it be a little white lie or a crime. None of us are perfect or righteous, that’s why we all need Jesus. Repent and accept him in your heart, because he is coming back soon. D Suaz You have no idea what happened to jesus, what it said or if it even existed.

It's this reason the Church has managed to hold on to legitimacy and only split due to political differences

haahhahah, the gospel where written 300 years after Jesus died. made up bull crap.

Example:
the “Heaven’s Gate” religious cult, whose leaders preached that suicide would allow them to leave their bodily “containers” and enter an alien spacecraft hidden behind the Hale-Bopp comet.
The followers may have genuinely believed he did rise from the dead. It's not evidence of the resurrection. Plenty of people were killed or crucified for their own beliefs.
I accept that jesus was a historical figure, but I don't accept he performed actual miracles.

Dupp Dep well my grandpas never as long as I’ve been alive never turned on a gospel channel where a preacher is speaking but right after I asked him into my life he did less then 2 minutes after you can think it was just a coincidence like I did so I wanted more proof btw he’s never turned on a church channel after that one day an this was months ago then he cut it off an we went to get breakfast and right in our grass as we left I looked out the window in our yard and there was a Jesus loves you sign once again never seen it after that day which was crazy since I just asked for him less then 5 minutes before that then I started to really believe and when we got to the bridge about a minute down the road I seen what looked like a telephone pole but it didn’t have wires on it and it had a wooden top on it that made it a big wooden cross and I never seen it before all of these things I just looked over an seen it an sure you can think it’s all coincidence but the timing was to right and ever since then my life has been amazing sure I don’t wanna go to work 6 days a week but I find the strength to do it and I always remember god is the reason I’m doing good he’s helped me with so many things and I’m only 18 i hope you can find him if you’re looking for him but it’s not easy you have to really mean it and be sincere and sometimes it takes bad things in your life to truly mean it when you ask for him in your life

Joe, I would strongly recommend that you interview J. Warner Wallace (author of the book Cold Case Christianity). He is a former atheist that became a follower of Jesus Christ. He is a cold-case detective out of Los Angeles County who applied his detective skills to investigating whether Christianity was true or not. I think he would be another great person for you to interview.
Jesus is so unreal that we divide time based on his death. Hmmmm.
@Zokersghost jesus was God in the flesh so imagine God manefesting himself into a human body for a greater purpose
@Zokersghost well he was a real person, but he did fulfill prophecies from the old testament, which you could say he read and did them just to do it, but not like he could really make himself be born in Bethlehem which was anotheprophecy, but who knows when stuff was really written or what happened, I'm kinda agnostic
*birth
They didn’t...
but we dont, Jesus was born sometime around 6-4BC not 0BC as many think
JESUS is coming back soon to answer your question Joe. Whoever read's this comment I hope you have a blessed day and achieve your goals. AMEN
Obadiah Lloyd probably not
I believe he was a real person just not the son of a God or a God. I don't mean to start an argument but there are over thousands of different religions throughout the history of mankind. But you have your beliefs and I have mine. Hope you have a good day.
No he isn’t
Majority of main stream scholars say he exists. It's not really an argument.
Levi Williams yep 100%, there's even historical documentation of those who were alive around the same time as Jesus and did not believe he was the son of God, but spoke of Him and his existence. This is incredibly enlightening since it's proof of his existence coming from a position of opposition.
Levi Williams It's an signal that you should probably just stop talking with that person if he says that he never even existed 😂😂
Right. He's not just written about in the bible but in history books. People can debate if he's the son of God all they want and that's fair, but he existed. If people don't think Jesus was real they could also say Columbus wasn't real by that same logic

Water was generally unsafe to drink. Wine contained the calories they needed and people didn't often die horribly and painfully from diseases like when drinking unclean water. The process of fermentation kills most if not all of the pathogens that were carried in the water used.
People have been worshipping deities long before Christianity came to be, who are you to say that they're wrong? Who are you to say that Richard is wrong? We're just humans. Doesn't matter what you do or do not believe in.

Joe Rogan is definitely high on DMT in this video.
Yes because God was around since the beginning lmao what kind of stupid comment was that? Jesus is not synonymous with God. Jesus is the son of God... all religions are the retelling of the bible which is why they share similarities. Not hard to figure out.

"Who cares, really" Our system of time measurement, the Gregorian calender, is based off of Jesus' life. A common part of our vernacular is the phrase, "Jesus Christ!" I love that Jesus performing miracles is obvious nonsense but the universe being created out of nothing is somehow logical
@Harry Garrett Jesus is the creator of heaven and Earth.. It applies in that sense
@Harry Garrett yes he claimed to be the one that created this universe.
We go where the evidence leads us.
@Harry Garrett idk what you are waffing about.
Harry Garrett because no matter what you believe, it’s not logical. There is no belief religious or secular that is without a leap of faith or gap in reasoning. Anyone who thinks someone else’s beliefs are silly or impossible needs to realize that their own beliefs probably are too

@@akshayjag117 people didn't think water was good for consumption, they wanted to drink wine, as it was proven to be safe, so why wouldn't Jesus do the more simple thing that convinces everybody instantly?
It was during a wedding that he changed water to wine. So no, wine is what was always served in those times
JR: "Do you think he [Jesus] is a real person?"
Dawkins: "The evidence isn't great ofcourse..." - says the guy who bases his whole worldview on evolution, which according to his naturalistic worldview, has no scientific evidence.
OOF! Got em
But somehow Evolution is accepted as an empirically verifiable scientific fact by pretty much all scientists on the planet.
There are more historians who doubt the existence of Jesus than there are biologists who doubt the validity of Evolution.😂
@@ramigilneas9274 evolution is not emperical science, because it's not testable, observable and repeatable. You clearly don't understand what you believe, but only believe it for the sake of convenience. Even Dawkins admits that Jesus was a real person. The new testamemt is the most scrutinized book and Jesus the most influential person in all of history. And the bible still remains the all time best selling book.
@@calebbenjamin1089
Nope, on the official list of most influential people of all time Jesus is Nr3, behind Mohamed and Newton… and directly after Jesus comes Darwin.😉
The evidence for Evolution is empirically testable, that’s the important part.
And the evidence is observable, testable and repeatable.
For example sequencing of the genomes of all lifeforms and comparing their ERV insertions is empirical evidence for how different lifeforms are related to each other.
It’s always so adorable when scientifically illiterate religious extremists try to tell scientists what is or isn’t science.😂
All historians agree that the historical Jesus was a real person… but they also agree that he had almost nothing in common with the fictional Jesus of the gospels and that we can know almost nothing about what he actually said or did because he doesn’t exist outside of the highly unreliable stories of the gospels.😉
Listen to the GOAT Ravi Zacharias who recently passed away... His compelling life books and intellectual discussions kept me from the atheistic fallacy. RIP Ravi
What's the argument for the evidence of God ?
@@veganworldorder9394 hey bro...in my younger years I've been chasing that question. If you're truly interested in the question and open minded..be willing to strive for the answer. Here's are some places you can start A Case for Faith, A Case for Christ, Mere Christianity, The Reason for God. There's an entire discipline called Apologetics you should genuine look into. That is... If your genuinely seeking and not just asking the question rhetorically.
Oh also read 'Darwins Blackbox' (written by a microbiologist) which decimates the traditional theory on evolution.
@@secondopinion89 I could take the time to read all those books but if you have an argument you could give me now it would be great, or even simply a general idea as why you think that god exists. You said the atheistic fallacy... what is the fallacy in atheism ?
Can a lie become truth?
Dawkins knows Jesus was a real person, but he can’t quite say ‘yes’. He has to dance around and say ‘who cares’. You will not find a scholar of any credibility who says Jesus did not exist. Just say it Richard 😀 Jesus, a real person, did walk the earth....
The important part is did he perform miracles. That's all that counts.
Yes Dawkins is not an atheist. He very much believes in God and hates him ever so deeply. He is therefore consciously doing the work of Satan.
Sam Harris is also of that same elk. Knows God exists. Resents that he is told to live his life by him and so teaches millions of people that we’re all a product of determinism and a unconnected series of random events happening over billions of years.
It’s no wonder that nihilism is so prevalent now in Western society. Don’t get married, don’t have children, turn your son into a girl or vice versa because nothing matters.
Don’t despair though, there are people who are touched by divinity every day and are grateful for all God has given us, EVEN THE BAD stuff!!! Because it’s part of life too and it will pass and there will come a time later in your life - it could be months, years or even decades - and you’ll miss the bad stuff as much as you miss the good stuff.
Pray for guys like Dawkins. He’s a sinner just like us. So pray for him just as you would pray for your own sins.
@@danieljohns4663 Oh you can read minds? That's pretty damn impressive
Gilmore 1988... Dawkins is egoistic in nature... He'll never utter it publicly. People who bought his books will want a refund...😁
Dawkins is clearly not at all a historian. Dude needs to stick to science. He’s definitely not a philosopher or theologian.
I can’t believe he spends his life attacking religion but has little or no historical knowledge.
It's a common problem when people are, or
told they are "Geniuses". They confuse Intelligence with infallibility. And they think that being the best at what they do means that they must be an authority on everything. Einstein had a genius IQ, but who are you going to pay to fix your car. Einstein or a mechanic?
When I was young, I was indoctrinated by **atheism**-- the kind of atheism which is believing god does not exist rather than not believing god exists. By some motivation, I began to actually study what I was taught to hate. Now I am the kind of atheist who does not hate religion; I love religion and I see it is in the hearts of my friends and I am glad.
