Anger rooted in my childhood trauma has caused me to sabotage the most valuable relationships I’ve ever had. It caused me to lash out and project my anger onto the person I loved most in this world…and then it fed on my guilt and turned inward. I’m working hard. I’m going to deal with this. I never want to hurt anyone, ever again
Practice the pause, apply brakes, reflect the possible outcomes of my decisions, my anger...is it even necessary to react....Practice the pause....watch hot breath blowing out from your NOSTRILS. Remember, since we are not the sole inhabitants of this densely populated world, there are bound to be external disturbances of various kinds, such as noise and interruptions by visitors. We cannot always live in “splendid isolation,” “from noise of men and dogs untroubled,” or in “ivory towers” high above the crowd. Right mediation is not escapism; it is not meant to provide hiding-places for temporary oblivion. Realistic meditation has the purpose of training the mind to face, to understand and to conquer this very world in which we live. And this world inevitably includes numerous obstacles to the life of meditation.
I feel your pain, brother! I'm in that very situation right now, where my anger has become public to my neighbourhood. Exactly on your vibe, too! Childhood trauma. It really f*cks us over in adulthood, doesn't it?!!

Use the resources around you to make progress. Personally, found it challenging to identify the triggers causing me to get angry - that's where mood tracking apps like MoodScriber helped. Then joining a health club/gym helped put myself in a healthy community. I think a combination of Community + Meditation + Self Discipline + Apps can be great way to make progress.

Ways to deal with anger, though it is a difficult task: 1) Acknowledge ‘your thoughts’, that they are generated due to anger. “What am I thinking now? In which state is my current thought is at?” 2) Focus on breathing - Breathing will be short and fast when you are angry. Focus in slowing down your breath. Take 2-3 long deep breaths and let it out. This helps to calm your mind and body. 3) Reflect on your thought pattern and ask “why did I get angry?”. Anger prevails in your mind. Anger is something YOU have created. You have two choices - react with negative behaviour or to respond with positive behaviour. Your experience is going to depend based on the choice you make. You have the power and privilege to respond with positivity. Hence, believe in patience. Believe in calm, kindness and patience - this will help to manage anger. Sometimes it is ok to experience anger in your mind but It is not okay to let the anger to flow out of from our bodily action and in form of words. These conscious practices will help you to manage your emotions. Namo Budhaya 🙏🏼🤍
This made sense. I like simple truths/instructions- not long philosophical Ted talks ( no offense). Recently I’ve noticed that when I’m angry about something, my thoughts don’t end there - suddenly I realize I’m remembering situations from my past that have made me angry- most often, the unresolved situations…. I catch myself, and I wonder “now how did I get here where I’m angry about something that’s passed?” I know that my angry thoughts lead to memories of other angry thoughts and I know that is not healthy. I like this. I’m subscribing.
I always learned one thing from your video's it doesn't matter whatever, whenever, wherever happen any annoying things just let it out be kindness to others in my professional life I met so many patients they couldn't even giving ear to my words they behave so much arrogant sometimes they scold me for non of the reason but i always remember one thing be kindness to others because we don't know how long we're gonna live in this world until it's happened spread love with others ❤
Anger is perhaps the most misunderstood emotion. It’s usually called “negative” in so-called spiritual circles, and is often equated with rage and hate. But in reality, anger - just like any of our basic emotions - isn’t negative in itself. Rather, it’s there for a very important reason: to help us live a better life. More specifically, it’s there to help us remove what’s obstructing our way to joy and freedom. And it does so by drawing our attention to what our needs are, what’s preventing us from meeting them, and what corrective actions we can take in order to meet them.
Anger can destroy a life time of good deeds in one moment. Just like a knife is not negative until it is used to harm someone. Anger not only harms others, it harms ourselves. Sometimes irreparably.
Anger and its negativity is not a different thing, Anger is just a name of a negative emotion, so itself is a negative emotion because it is an emotion that always tries to hurt others or yourself. If the anger doesn't try to hurt others or yourself you can call it a non-negative emotion. The emotion that drives you to a better life is called hope and determination. Don't misunderstand between determination and anger.🙏🏼
Anger, resentments, and unforgiveness are things that I have always struggled with and even though I've been working with a therapist on it, I still struggle. When I was doing the 12 steps with a sponsor, she had me write down and discuss my resentments and how they have effected me so that I could see the damage and have motivation to let them go. They also told me how resentments only harm you, not the people who did you wrong. She had me write down my part in the conflicts that caused my resentments so that I could see where I was in the wrong, make amends, reconcile the relationships if appropriate, change my behaviors, and build my character. Now obviously this doesn't always apply like in cases where you were abused. It also helps me to understand human behavior and why we behave how we do for example mental illness. This is absolutely Not condoning or justifying their actions, it just helps to have compassion and wish them well. It can also be tempting to get revenge, but remember not only are there consequences for that, but they will get their karma. If they change because of it good for them and forgive them if they make amends to you. It's hard, but it helps.
Thank you. As Someone who Gets anger emotion all the time for the simplest things in life, This lesson was very valuable to me. As of watching this video, The way you were talking was very calming and helped me get over my anger and be a more calm and gentle person. You never know what anger can do sometimes. I’ve been in a rage all day because I couldn’t enrol on my masters degree (technical issues). Watching this calm, wise and loving person has been a delicious balm to my angry soul, I can retract my mind and realise the anger is making ME ill and restless. Namaste 🙏 to everyone ❤❤❤❤
To anyone feeling put off, because anger is very impulsive, especially when arising from trauma, this is still possible. The noticing step is very important and to notice your anger with loving kindness or self compassion. Noticing is the gateway which will allow you to step back and make the change so that you are less reactive. Good luck! :)
One of the most amazing things a human being can experience in their soul journey on this weird planet is to learn to examine one's thoughts and emotions objectively; it takes a lot of practice and is very strange at first, but it is totally worth it!
Respected Teacher, Before I watching this motivational video I do not know how to control my anger to others.. Before I am getting angry usually I thought that I will not repeat this situation again.. But that time I forget all the things which I planned before... Now I could understand what steps I needs to do in this situation ...Now I realized that anger is not going to help me... Thank you so much this great video
Very grateful for this teaching - “nothing has been solved with anger “ - although it can be a motivator “breathe and let kindness prevail “ 🙏 big gratitude Namaste 🙏🌏✌️
You are so right. I have had some anger lately but I knew it was wrong. I knew it will not help the situation. So I went for a walk. This allowed me the time to breathe and think how can I make it better. Soon I calmed down and could come to helpful ways to make things better for myself. Sending you my love. 😘❤❤❤❤❤❤
What I love most about your teachings and now Buddhism is that the change and direction of my life depends entirely on my thoughts and actions. For the first time I have found a way to live that doesn't make me unhappy. Thank you.
Let it go... If you hold it in too much, it will destroy you. Anger is a heavy emotion and it will burden you forever if you don't manage it. Get that weight off of you and start new🤗😘! Grudges are like anchors to the soul, so let them sink.
Such a great technique for self realisation. I heard people saying don't get angry but no 1 said how to control it . I am grateful for this technique .
Namo Buddhaya 🙏☸️🕉️❤️. Anger has always been my strongest vice in life. Lord Buddha and his teaching are the only thing that has worked for myself. It has given me the tools needed to look within and transform my greed, hatred, & delusion into loving kindness.
I don't love myself when i m. In anger it s too violent it s too destructive . Your words to deal with this emotion are so right and helpful for me . Thank you thank you thank you 🙏🪷🧡
I really wanted this one...in my entire life I had lots of problems with people just because I couldn't control the way I react...I'm regreting a lot bcoz of that...atleast from now on I'm gonna take charge of my anger and control the way I react to things
Waking up early, doing yoga, exercise daily,n eating veg food as much as possible, sleeping early, less use of mobile phn,,makes me happy ❤n listening to people before speaking..❤Radhe Radhe..
Really Thank you so much Swamiwahanse sir for this your great massage/ kind suggestions...🙏🏻 We will definitely try to controls on our anger...😊 Not only just control but also we will definitely fully destroy it...😊👍🏻 With the help of your kind suggestion/Great information...🙏🏻 Namo Buddhay...🙏🏻 Theruwan Saranai 😊🙏🏻✨
Thank you. There are many common triggers for anger, such as losing our patience, feelings as if our opinion or efforts aren't appreciated and Injustice/ Insults. Other causes of anger include memories of traumatic enraging events. I believe in the theory of karma and strongly believe that one's actions have a direct bearing on one's destiny sooner or later. We find ourselves completely undone by someone else's behaviour. Most of the things that we get upset about aren't our issues.
I am a person who have a lot of anger issues and I have been trying to control it but it has been impossible but now I know what to do and how to control it. Namo budhay ❤
Recently the book Voyagers of hell enlightened me and made me look at life in a positive way. Though the book is a fantasy it's impact was much deeper.
I’m struggling with anger issues for 3 years and I still can control it I am struggling with screaming noises and hearing sounds and difficult situations as well, although my anger was severe 2 years ago and my anger gotten more worser and worse, that’s why I break stuff and done harmful and dangerous acts as well, also I am trying too control it now, but I am now trying to stop the anger now 😊
The biggest thing here is compassion and forgiveness .. this is what I need to learn . Also letting go of negativite people . They have no reason to be in your life.
I sometimes can't control my anger. but what you said make sense. I will try tofollow what you say. I definitely want to bring positivity in my life. Namo budhaya
May i know this noble person's name ?? He is changing me from the core of my mind , he is something , his speech, his voice is something .... which I can't explain...... really grateful for him ...... Pranam to you respected sir ..... Best wishes the team from India .....
I am kind of calm person though but I get annoyed and anger just kicked in when I have to supervise somebody who don't put their effort in completing a task assigned to them and rather waste their time on some trivial things. I think I have learnt today that somebody not meeting my expectation is ruining my peace of mind so I would rather treat them with love and kindness than with anger.
Very meaningful video, I'm also feeling many times my anger prevails my mind and kills the moment and all the relationships, I will practice from today on anger management to keep myself and surrounding happy and healthy
Thank you for these wise words. I will try to put them into practice more frequently than I do at present. I totally agree that expressing my anger is harmful both to me and to the person who has made me feel angry. I will try to become more patient. This is my way forward. Thank you.
I believe you can find your way back to that inner kindness that you are. Anger is the viel we need to lift and see through love and light. I deal with the same issues and am starting my journey to be more forgiving and loving and not lash out in anger any longer. Not even think in anger. We are all one so we should treat each other that way! And that Includes ourselves. Best of luck to everyone dealing with this as well
Anger management is a set of techniques and skills that help a person to identify, understand, and manage their emotions and reactions. Avoiding the situation or person that triggers anger can help. Learn relaxation exercises, such as deep breathing, to help manage stress. Use positive self-talk to help control emotions. Make time for activities that bring peace and joy, such as listening to music, talking with friends, exercising, or reading.
I know that if you feel anger when someone insults you then there is some truth to it. However the guy from the deli laughed and said he was overcharging me. He laughed so I asked for my money back and did not comply. I lost my temper and took the 4 popcorns packets across his face. Not my proudest moment but the part that bothers me is that I felt a sense of relief and slight enjoyment. A few days later pass by him in the street and he says what will you give me for Christmas. I replied I already gave it to you. 4 popcorns to the face. I will do my best to put this into practice. Thank you.
Your words of wisdom changes everything in my life, thank you so much, but this need long practice and listening and watching your videos make a big impact in all of our lives. Namo buddhaya. Wishing everyone having a happy and kind heart❤ and have meaningful life.

I can't control my anger as a student.unlike things happends again and agin.but i should control my anger.Thank tou for this video .I will practise deep breath .Namo Buddaya🙏
Like most of us, if left unchecked, I am a person prone to getting locked into my head, spinning narratives, stories; recycling memories and orchestrating 'what-if' scenarios that, I'd often then eventually believe to be 'true' and carry into the world with me. For some reason I believed that being so analytical of the everything in my mind was a good thing, that it kept me prepared but, and this is a big 'but' I rarely analyzed where the thoughts were coming from themselves. Like anger, I learned to see when the narrative was arising, when I was escalating in delusions but instead of being swept away and eventually reacting, Ive been learning to see how it is separate and not identify with it. Asking myself, "why am I really feeling like this?" the thoughts can be watched from a detached place and let to fizzle out, almost amusingly. Eventually, from watching my thoughts, i realized they are in fact not 'me' but then was left with the deeper and more enjoyable question" then what is the entity watching my thoughts?" 😅 I don't have a full answer for that at the moment but that's where I am now 😂
i roll my eyes 500 times a day.. oh someone has transgressed me again.. of course they have.. clearly theyre incapable of doing better.. i understand that this person is incapable of not being terrible.. 5 seconds later oh it happened again.. of course it did.. thank you universe for all the toxicity you bring into my life.. i am eternally grateful..

No stress no worries at all … i have a great wife and a wonderful kid , i do TM , i play sports and i work … but still have a anger issue which i cant tame even though i know im extremely bless . I am stuck in a country i dont want to live and my life is way to simple . My wife isnt very educated and her lack of using her brain in simple situations frustrates me ,
I really think every gal would like to have a guy like this as partner soo much patience, pleasantly, calm, wise and Happy life will be with no issues as the person is soo matured and have solutions to every problem is what I think.
My personal experience: In my life, anger crept in after my mid twenties. Before that I never had an anger issues. I was always calm. But now a days, anything that happens against my wish then I get angry. This has affected my relationship with my dear wife. And it seems that anger can also be genetic. My grandfather and father also have anger issues.

Dear venerable sir, I watch your videos everyday it gives me a lot of happiness and makes me clear about Buddha's teachings. I take permission from you to re-upload your videos on my channel because your videos are very important for today's life. Thank you 🙏
I'm going to depressed Because i have no work no money. But actually watch your video i'm almost good of my health. Please make the one video for me how to control depression.
In Christianity peace and patience are called fruit of the spirit. The master said every branch that does not bear fruit is cut off and cast into the fire. Let us therefore practice peace and patience not only with words . . . but also with deeds. Controlling the breath and mindfulness are two such practices.

I am having so much of anger issues. I want to control my anger. After listening u sir I will work on my anger. Thank u sir. Namo budhay🙏

Me too..😢 I got angry to my elders.. now no one talks to me...
same. Good luck to us.
I very, very rarely get angry but when I do, I’m so glad to know I’m on the right track. I love your videos. Thank you.

Yes I too believe that karma, will get at the wrong doers. But meanwhile we suffer that's the irony
I’m struggling with anger issues for 3 years and I still can control it I am struggling with screaming noises and hearing sounds and difficult situations as well, although my anger was severe 2 years ago and my anger gotten more worser and worse, that’s why I break stuff and done harmful and dangerous acts as well, also I am trying too control it now, but I am now trying to stop the anger now 😊
I take 21year to control my anger
The biggest thing here is compassion and forgiveness .. this is what I need to learn . Also letting go of negativite people . They have no reason to be in your life.
I feel so soothing after watching ur videos..pls shaer one video daily..Sir...
I sometimes can't control my anger. but what you said make sense. I will try tofollow what you say. I definitely want to bring positivity in my life. Namo budhaya

@@shaniwarnakulasooriya6977 Thank you so much ..
🙏 Enlightenment of Mind made easy. 🙏Thank You Guruji ☺️
I feel so much anger from childhood and Im trying to solve it. Thank you for that episode

Thank you.
😢😢 this anger destroying my life😭😭😭 I am kind hearted but if I be angry I forget every things...
Don’t worry your not alone
Same 😢
Me too 😢❤
Just do better, I am same but I am trying my best.
Best of luck to everyone dealing with this as well
Anger makes the worst life and regret present but patience maintains relationships and goes for further level
Thank you.
Thank you dear Bhante for another valuable lesson. Hope to hear more from you. Namo Budahaya 🙏🙏🙏❤️

Very educative for all and sundry to tackle anger that enters our minds destroying our inner peace and goodness we collected through years.
He is absolutely soothing🙏🙏🙏🙏
Eventually, from watching my thoughts, i realized they are in fact not 'me' but then was left with the deeper and more enjoyable question" then what is the entity watching my thoughts?" 😅
I don't have a full answer for that at the moment but that's where I am now 😂
The entity watching is your eternal soul. It’s not capable of negative thinking.
Pleasant evening Reverend Namo Bhuddhay 🙏
i roll my eyes 500 times a day.. oh someone has transgressed me again.. of course they have.. clearly theyre incapable of doing better.. i understand that this person is incapable of not being terrible.. 5 seconds later oh it happened again.. of course it did.. thank you universe for all the toxicity you bring into my life.. i am eternally grateful..

I understand and know i have the PERFECT most simplest life in the whole world! No stress no worries at all … i have a great wife and a wonderful kid , i do TM , i play sports and i work … but still have a anger issue which i cant tame even though i know im extremely bless . I am stuck in a country i dont want to live and my life is way to simple . My wife isnt very educated and her lack of using her brain in simple situations frustrates me ,
Very kindly and clearly put. I wish I had seen this year's ago.
anger has always been my crutch i hate it its over whelms me but every time now im going to use this video to help me
I really think every gal would like to have a guy like this as partner soo much patience, pleasantly, calm, wise and Happy life will be with no issues as the person is soo matured and have solutions to every problem is what I think.
True, but at the same time it will be much more difficult to be with a partner like this, if we are not on the same level as him.
I was the same. The love of my life left me because of it. Please…PLEASE, do something, anything, EVERYTHING, to try and work it out. For you, then for her. I wouldn’t wish this pain and guilt on anyone
After seeing your video, i will try to practice and control anger. I dont know what happen when anger comes i donr want to loose my partner.hope yr video support me
"Anger" is only one letter away from 'D'anger. 😊
That’s damn poignant
I find it interesting that we learn important lessons far into adult life and wish we'd known as children. Thank you ❤

Thank you, Sifu! A very wise tutorial! 😀 Namo Amitofu! ☸️.
In Christianity peace and patience are called fruit of the spirit. The master said every branch that does not bear fruit is cut off and cast into the fire. Let us therefore practice peace and patience not only with words . . . but also with deeds. Controlling the breath and mindfulness are two such practices.
I try my best but i can't, my anger is always the cause for my sadness..
How is it going for you now?
